About this apartment rental
Facing the ocean, Beachgate lies on the vibrant south coast in Hastings, just west of the popular Boardwalk. Approaching this charming architect-designed villa, you are amazed to discover it opens up into two large apartments, the upper a 3 bedroom en-suite, the lower, two bedrooms en-suite. Both are tastefully furnished, with spacious, open-plan living/dining areas that flow out onto large verandahs.
Steps from your door lies the ocean. There’s always the constant sound of the sea, an unforgettable view, and the gentle rustle of trade winds in the Coconut trees. You can sit on the wide stretch of beach, swim and snorkel in the protected lagoon (perfect for kids) or the more adventurous can surf or snorkel the barrier reef just beyond.
If sand and sea are not really your thing, relax and sip a drink by the pool which is shared by both units. Whether to unwind, go for a nearby adventure, treat your taste buds or explore local culture, Beachgate is perfectly suited. Most of our guests choose not to rent a car as everything is close by!
Step out onto the beach. Turn left and you can walk on the boardwalk to the spectacular Rockley beach, aka Accra beach, with its famous ultra fine white sand where locals and tourists mix. Turn right and stroll along the peaceful coast towards the famous Hil-ton beach. Back at Beachgate, you will take with you a lasting memory of the sun sinking into the horizon, and as you sit cocktail in hand, you may even see the elusive green flash.
For foodies:
There are three great dining choices on the boardwalk, Blakey’s, Tapas, and Naru with a half dozen others within walking distance. Also be sure to catch the Saturday farmer’s market opposite Blakey’s from 9AM to 1PM for your typical local Barbadian produce and crafts.
For shoppers:
It’s a short walk to Lanterns mall, a great stop for groceries and general supplies, a pharmacy, health food store, Haagen Das ice cream, and tasty local and foreign food alternatives for those looking for a quick meal.
For duty free shoppers:
There are duty free shops in Worthing, five minutes by local bus or take a ten minute ride to Bridgetown. On Broad Street you will find fine jewellery shops, Cave Shepherd, a large department store, and other shops. For a great local shopping experience visit bustling Swan Street.
For history buffs:
There’s the Hastings Historic District and storied Garrison area of Barbados. It is the location of the Old Colonial Officers Quarters and Army Hospital. The Savannah comprises the main military guard buildings, with beautiful Victorian architecture complete with a large collection of old cannons, the Barbados Turf Club (Horse Racing), the historical museum, and a vast open sports area for rugby, soccer, cricket, all surrounded by walking and running tracks.
Shared economy & Room rate levies:
These levies were introduced by the Government of Barbados with effect from August 1st, 2018. They are 10% of the booking fee plus US$4.375 per night and is collected on arrival at the villa.
We appreciate your support at this time and look forward to seeing you in Barbados.

This was a very nice villa in Christ Church/ perfect location for us. Close to everything we needed in Barbados. Property managers were so nice and easy to work with. Our first visit to the Country and we landed there on their Independence Day- not convenient for them but everyone so accommodating. We had planned this in 2019, was cancelled in March of 2020 , and traveling Internationally right now is very challenging. The beautiful home was worth all the hassles of the trip.

This was our first Barbados experience and it was wonderful! The villa is just beyond the beach boardwalk, with low walking traffic, and feels private and secure. The view from the porch onto the sea is beyond words: we spent a lot of time there relaxing and eating meals. Tina and Philip were very welcoming and made our stay very comfortable and relaxing. The private pool was a unique feature and was lovely for cooling off after being on the beach. We made more use of it than we expected!
The property is well maintained, and the housekeepers and pool maintenance team were friendly and efficient.
We are looking forward to returning next year!

My husband and I have been to Barbados 5 times now. Staying the 4th and 5th at Beachgate. We will definitely return here. Our first stay, we stayed in lower Beachgate for 10 days in 2014 with our 2 boys, then aged 4 and 8. Villa was better than expected. Tina and Phillip were great hosts, even helping to arrange a babysitter for us the one night when I was nervous about leaving the boys. Villa has everything you could possibly need, we cooked a lot of breakfast and lunches and ate out most nights with the kids. There is a convenience store walking distance where you can get the basics for groceries. Or the larger supermarket Massey Stores have a free shuttle back to your rental if you like. There are so many places/restaurants within walking distance for all budgets. The hammock outside the lower unit was amazing, we all had at least one nap here.
This past March 2017 we celebrated my 40th birthday so brought back another couple this time and rented the upper unit. No Kids. It did not disappoint. Views are spectacular from the upper balcony, especially the sunsets. This trip, most days around noon there were turtles feeding in the water out front of the unit. Favourite restaurants in area are Tapa's for sure, and Just Grillin, across the street from Accra hotel. We hired a taxi for a day this time and highly recommend it. I think it was $120 usd for the 4 of us all day. He took us anywhere we wanted, out to Martins Bay for a fish fry and Bathsheba among other places. Go to Oistins on Friday nights. Public transport is so easy in Barbados there is really no need to rent a car. Can't wait to go back already.

Very spacious, very clean, 3 bedroom large living/dining area few steps away from a lovely beach. The balcony's view is unforgettable. We stayed in the upper villa for 10 days and we never got bored of the fantastic views to the sea. The villa is located at an excellent position to see the rest of the island if you have a car, although there are several restaurants and convenient shops nearby. Tina and Philip were fantastic hosts; always eager to help us with all our questions and requests.
It was a dream holiday and would definitely stay there again.

5 Couples shared the whole villa and could not have been more happy with everything. we have been visiting Barbados for over 20yrs and this was to celebrate 2 couples 50th wedding Anniversaries. and we could not have chosen a better place. Tina and Philip gave us every assistance with our planning and were able to join us and friends and family on our day.
The following week I took a bit of a fall and once again Tina was able to help with recommend a delightful Osteopath that came to the house and help me back on my feet again.
We spent nearly 4 weeks at Beachgate and could have stayed much longer!
