The breakfast was very good but in my opinion expensive. The location of the hotel could not have been better, with views over looking Morecombe bay.
In the room we where given, the main lights did not work, the tv only had one channel and toilet would not flush. when we told the staff. we where told to pump the system to make it work.

We stay at the Clarkes hotel regularly and find David, Julie and their staff very welcoming .For us it is a very relaxing stay in a lovely location and easy access to the walking, cycling and bird watching we enjoy as well as beautiful scenery.
Breakfast is good and we find the hotel is good value for us . We had a lovely time- again !

Enjoyed our stay, the rooms do need upgrading also the bar and communal areas, but having said that for the price you are paying you don’t expect 5*. The staff were all lovely ( 5* for the staff.) and made us feel very welcome. We enjoyed breakfast and had one evening meal there, that was very good, I ordered the Cajun pasta, unfortunately too hot for me, but they were very concerned that this was the case and did there best to rectify it. The Lemon posset was a dream. We would stay again when in the area. The view over Morecombe Bay was amazing.
We were lucky it was very warm when we stayed and did sit outside with our drinks, that said all the seating was at benches not the most comfortable and the plant pots and weeds did need some attention, anything to make it look less like benches in a car park. Having said that we would stay again.

location and friendly staff
4.5 / 5.0
We have stayed here before, twice over the last 10 years, so it was all very familiar - we love the approach along the coast raod from Ulverston. Very peaceful location with views over the bay and to Piel Island.
Staff very healpful and friendly and if anything was not quite right then it was soon sorted out.
Breakfast tasty and filling - those sausages are super!
The hotel was fairly quiet for the duration of our stay. It used to be much busier with contractors from BAE staying here for a few days a week, bringing a lively atmosphere and more people to keep the bar open later at night. I do hope that the BAE business returns in the future.
