About this apartment rental
Chiado is probably Lisbon’s trendiest quarter. A colorful blend of 18th-century palaces, little squares, excellent patisseries, in-vogue restaurants, great street life and good shopping make this area one of the best to stay in. This apartment - a national heritage building because of its beautifully tiled façade - creates the perfect environment for a large group of people. It has 2 additional advantages: its central location and very easy access to public transport. So why not book this apartment and experience the perfect starting point to explore a unique European capital?
DESCRIPTION
On the 3rd floor of a building without a lift, this apartment includes a living/dining room, 5 great bedrooms (one is en suite and has a sloping ceiling), 4 complete bathrooms, 1 toilet and a fully equipped kitchen.
There is space everywhere: the bedrooms are roomy, living/dining rooms are very spacious and interiors are comfortable and colorful (all bedrooms have distinctive colors). We love the little dark blue tiles on the bathroom walls and the ceiling and narrow window of an attic-like bedroom. The apartment includes a decorated iron railing balcony and has views over the river, cascading rooftops, charming squares and narrow sloping alleys.
NEIGHBORHOOD
With a map in your hand, find your way around the trendiest Lisbon quarter and surroundings such as the picturesque and alternative Bairro Alto, famous for its nightlife and good restaurants.
But let’s start from the beginning: when you leave the building turn left; from here you’ll find the Carmo square and the ruins of the former Carmo convent which, before the 1755 earthquake, competed in grandeur and splendor with the surviving Sé Cathedral (in Alfama, on the opposite side of the downtown area). Stop for a few minutes and have a “bica” (espresso) in one of the Square’s cafés. From here you can either go down to Rossio, the famous downtown square or train station (from where you can take the train and visit the amazing natural jewel of Sintra), or walk down to the center of Chiado. Here you can window-shop for a while, buy a large ice-cream and explore the streets lined with elegant, 18th-century architecture.
But if you prefer a more local and genuine Lisbon, simply cross Lisbon’s downtown streets and walk up the hill. Here you’ll find monuments such as the impressive 14th-century São Jorge Castle, the gothic Sé Cathedral, various viewpoints with breathtaking views over the deep blue river, lovely taverns where you can listen to Fado amateurs (or professionals), 100-year old (at least!) grocer’s shops, souvenir shops and, of course, the Fado Museum.
However, if you leave the apartment and walk down the beautiful Rua do Alecrim, with its striking manor houses and the blue Tagus stretched out below, you’ll come to Cais do Sodré, another popular area, famous for its nightlife, restaurants and interior design stores. From here, walk to Cais do Sodré station and take the train along the Portuguese Riviera to Cascais and Estoril, 19th-century seaside resorts where the affluent used to spend their summers.
The apartment is close to all types of transport: within a walking distance of 2 to 5 min, you’ll find taxis, Baixa/Chiado metro station, bus stops to places such as the airport, Belém (the museum neighborhood), Santa Apolónia train station (that links Lisbon to most of Portugal), Rossio train station, from where you can reach Lord Byron’s beloved town of Sintra, and even the world famous 28 tram stop. While you wait for the tram to arrive, don’t forget to have another “bica” at Brasileira café. Try to sit close to Fernando Pessoa’s statue and ask to have your photo taken with Portugal’s greatest 20th century poet!

The apartment was great for our family! Very spacious with beautiful views of the Chiado neighborhood and out to the water. The location was perfect, with many shops and restaurants near by. Carlos, who met us upon check, was friendly and informative. And Paula answered all our questions ahead of trip promptly. Highly recommend for your stay in Portugal.

We loved our stay at this apartment. The owners were very helpful and accommodating. We have a family of 10 and we all got our own beds and slept comfortably. The apartment was in a prime location.

We were a group of 11 ladies celebrating our annual weekend get away. The apartment was spacious and best part is we all had our own beds! All the rooms had comfortable beds, plenty of pillows, fans everywhere to offset the heat, plenty of bathroom space for showering and getting ready, and 2 kitchens making it easy to prepare coffee, cocktails and charcuterie. We easily got Uber or tuk tuk for ease of transportation, but so much is walkable from the apartment. The apartment owner responded to questions and offered suggestions of where to go for restaurants, contacts for sailboat tour, getting to the beach, how to navigate transportation to and from airport plus lots more! It was truly an enjoyable stay! Tour groups stopped by the beautiful decorated tile building the apartment is located and we thought that was cool!

Seven friends -- 3 couples and one single stayed in this apartment and it could not have been more perfect. It is clean, the beds are comfortable, the linens and towels are high quality, the kitchen is well equipped and there is a well functioning washer and dryer. The location is absolutely ideal for exploring the city -- a quick walk from the metro and many major sites. It overlooks a beautiful plaza with lots of very good and lively restaurants. When you open the double doors there is a fabulous breeze and view to the water. A word of caution on two items. It is a walk up to the top floor -- 69 steps -- we counted them. So if you are not physically fit this may not be the apartment for you. Also, it takes a while to get accustomed to the water in the shower which abruptly runs scalding hot to ice cold -- you just need to be careful. Two minor items in an otherwise fabulous place to stay for a wonderful time in a magnificent city.

Excellent location for a visit to Lisbon and plenty of room for 6-8 guests. Enjoyed our stay very much. Need to get used to tourists taking photos of the place while your out on the balcony though. Probably one of the most photographed buildings in Lisbon.

Daniel was great and a wealth of information at checkin. The location was absolutely fabulous. Would go there again

This apartment is exactly as advertised and fit our family reunion perfectly. It is close to the metro station, many restaurants, and other forms of public transportation for very easy getting around Lisbon. Fantastic location! Some construction on the street created some noise, but all was quiet after 5 pm, and we enjoyed the street musicians in the evening.
4.7
Non disclosed major construction in the front and back which will take at least two more years. Disappointing, especially as due to construction the restaurants exhaust comes up and no window can be kept open in the bedrooms.
Location is great.

This apt is in a great location. Step out and everything is near. The apt itself is adequate but not luxurious. The kitchen is well equipped. Bring your own toiletries as there are none provided.

Wonderful first trip to Lisbon with family & friends. Great city with loads to do & see.
Chia do Trindade Appt is in an ideal location, the premises was spotlessly clean & Fatima was marvellous to liaise with & very accommodating on all our requests. I would highly recommend this stunning accommodation for your stay in Lisbon.

The perfect home from home! 10 of us had a wonderful weekend here! Plenty of room for us all, lovely and quiet despite the incredibly central location. It had everything you could possibly need, beds very comfortable, bathrooms and showers all brilliant. Lisbon is a lovely city and this apartment is the perfect place to base yourself to explore it to the full!

Great apartment in great location. We had a large group and the space worked well for all of us.
