About this house rental
This classic beach house has been lovingly restored to combine timeless charm with modern comforts. Located in the heart of the "Washout" on Folly Beach, where the river and ocean are just 200 feet apart, it offers breathtaking views, steady sea breezes, and a peaceful escape you’ll never forget.
The property features nearly 360-degree views of the Morris Island Lighthouse, Cooper River Bridge, the Atlantic Ocean, and the Folly River. The private 400-foot dock is perfect for fishing, crabbing, paddleboarding, or simply enjoying the sunset. A top-of-the-line HotSpring hot tub, two outdoor showers with hot and cold water, and multiple seating areas on wraparound decks make the outdoor experience unforgettable.
Inside, the second floor is the heart of the home. The open-layout kitchen boasts a stunning 14-foot island, Italian appliances, on-demand filtered water, and a farmhouse sink. The living space flows seamlessly into the 450-square-foot screened porch, where you can lounge on high-end furniture or enjoy a meal with incredible river and ocean views.
The second floor also includes a generous primary king bedroom with an en-suite bathroom, featuring his-and-her sinks and a walk-in shower. Two additional queen bedrooms and a second full bathroom are located off the hallway.
The ground floor offers additional living quarters, including a King Bedroom Mother-In-Law Suite with a full bath, a living room with a TV, and a kitchenette. Please note that the downstairs kitchenette includes essentials but not a full suite of cookware.
Technology in the home includes high-speed Xfinity WiFi (1,000 Mbps download/25 Mbps upload), Apple TVs for streaming, and a SONOS speaker system with three zones, including outdoor spaces.
The beautifully landscaped yard is ideal for families and features barefoot-friendly grass, low-voltage lighting, and LED lights along the dock. Under the house, there’s plenty of storage space for rented golf carts and beach gear.
The creek on the property is tidal and offers excellent fishing and crabbing at higher tides. While staying here, you’ll also enjoy a prime location just three houses from a public beach access point and only 10 miles (about a 20-minute drive) from historic Downtown Charleston.
This is not your average Folly Beach rental. Our home has been thoughtfully remodeled and carefully furnished because it’s our primary residence when we’re in town. We are seasoned mom-and-pop short term rental hosts who take pride in offering an exceptional experience. Please note this property is not suitable for parties or large gatherings; we ask that you treat our home with care and respect.
For your security, the property has three outdoor cameras monitoring the front, side, and backyard.
Maximum occupancy is eight guests. No events and no pets are allowed.

My friends and I had a wonderful stay at the Sea Cabin. We loved the house, especially the large screened in porch, the large open kitchen, the spectacular marsh views out back and the perfect location. It was away from town enough to be very quiet but still convenient to Folly restaurants, just a short drive away. We took lots of beach walks down to the lighthouse. Such a beautiful, special area, and we were so happy to be there.
We did wish we'd have realized that the 4th bedroom is very separate from the upstairs main living area and requires going outside to access it. It was ok for us, but just felt a bit isolated and would not be ideal for kids. Still, we loved our stay and Andy was a great host.

Andy shared with us a google doc full of info of the history of the property and island. We were honored to stay there before even setting foot on the property.
Our entry, close to midnight, my husband and our teens were blown away. The porch with the ocean breezes, the artist touches in every room…
This is not in any way your typical Vrbo rental, and count yourself lucky if you are able to stay in this home.
There is so much love here, and it is evident on every room, every drawer and every shelf and every stone.
As if that weren’t enough, Andy is obviously a resident and not an investor - the recommendations were all outstanding, we felt we had the “in” on the heartbeat of the island - thanks Andy! Enough so that the family said, “Well, if Andy says it’s good, it’s going to be amazing!” How great to have your own personal tour guide. And he was prompt with anything he could offer to enhance our stay!
Of course we all come for the beach but…hit the backyard at sunset - heaven! Enjoy the peace of the marsh evenings and the setting sun! This is something you don’t get oceanfront, and I’m starting to appreciate the second row! Great spot for my husband and I to unwind on our own!
Beachfront three houses down - not even a walk! Accesses the beach on this island are well established. Also, displaying the rules in opportune spots definitely keeps the cleanliness and reverence to their stewardship of this island.
Plenty of places to explore, my almost-out-of-the-house teen daughter and I had some lifetime memories exploring .
Oh, I could go on and on, rent this home, you will be changed by it!
