Location: the hostel is in a very quiet area but very close to the main street, which very lively and full of shops.
Building is a bit old and some items probably need to be fixed/replaced (such as wobbly window shutters).
You're literally sleeping on the floor (futon bed) but it was comfortable.

Die Lage des Hostels ist super. Es liegt in einer sehr ruhigen Umgebung, aber die Anbindung an die Metro ist super und in nur 2 Stopps ist man z. B. in Shibuya.
Alles war sehr sauber, auch die gemeinschaftlich genutzten Räume.
Das Hostel hat einen sehr gemütlichen Flair. Man fühlt sich sofort sehr wohl.
Check-in und Check-out haben reibungslos geklappt.

Cosy living room, amazing area with lots to do!
Lots of privacy and good vibes.
Tatami room lets heaps of light in in the morning, so make sure to bring an eye mask.

I stayed at Wabi Sabi Hostel for 10 days and I had a great experience. The location is perfect, in a quiet residential area between the lively Shimokitazawa and Sangenjaya. There are some cool bars and restaurants nearby, and you can walk to Shimokitazawa in 5-10 minutes. The hostel is a small but cozy house, with a relatively spacious living room and kitchen. The dorm room is very small and can be a bit of a challenge, but the beds are comfortable and clean. The hostel is not very social, as there is no staff and most guests just come back to sleep. But sometimes you can meet someone for a chat in the common area. The hostel has some rules and automatic features that can seem a bit loud and inconvenient at first, like the key and the light switches, but once you get used to them, they are not a problem. The best part of staying at Wabi Sabi Hostel was meeting some amazing people who belong to some underground music scene in Tokyo. They hang around their shops in the area and they are very nice and cool. I learned a lot from them and they made my trip more fun and memorable. If you travel to meet people, it's worth trying to find and connect with them. Overall, I really enjoyed my time at Wabi Sabi Hostel. It was a good hub to rest and start my activities from. But if you are looking for a social hostel, this might not be the best choice for you.

I really loved the location. Wabi Sabi is set in this quiet neighbourhood of Setagaya, which is very nice for walking around. In the morning lots of the old people walk their dogs and greeted me on the way.

Great space; basic but has everything, nice quiet atmosphere beside a suburb with action and not far from shibuya. Everything was easy and good
The air conditioning turned off automatically for one one and it was very hot in the room but next night was fine

The location is very pretty calm but still in a very accessible part of town.
The staff was amazing letting us check in before time to allow us to sleep after our long trip.
I appreciate the sensitivity to details, like the shampoo and conditioner in the shower.
I would definitely come back.
Not much room for big luggage to store in the room.

Nice location and really nice price (~20mins to Shibuya)
A good kitchen if you're going to make meals for yourself.
Sound proof does not exist. So when couples travel, try to keep your business in a silent way, or everyone in the next room can hear it :)
Doors and floors make a lot of noise when moving, so if you need to sleep in the morning or afternoon, it may be a concern.
The mattress and pillow are thin which maybe a concern to somebody.
Space is limited so if you are bringing a large luggage it may not be very convenient.

The beds and pillows were extremely uncomfortable. Check in was complicated. Far from the metro station. Walls were thin as paper, we could hear a baby crying loud, cell phone alarm etc not enough bathroom for the quantity of people staying there.

the dorms were way too small for the amount of people they try to cram into the dorms. no room for luggage or to move in room without encroaching on others personal space. the check in process was efficient but not obvious and very impersonal. i know it’s a traditional japanese house but there were no where near enough bathrooms and showers for the amount of people living there. the wait times each morning for the toilet and shower were ridiculous and i almost missed my booking one morning because of it despite being awake with ample time to get ready.

Really good location and amenities. Having a locker and a kitchen with cooking essentials (except for a knife) was super nice! The common area was cozy and the beds were pretty comfortable. The price was very good considering everything you get.
The room was really dark and the motion sensor for the light worked a bit poorly because it would turn off after 10 seconds. So if you were not in range the room would go pitch black constantly.
Also personally not a fan of having to download an app to open the front door. It didn't work properly a few times and on a few occasions my phone battery was about to run out and I'd have to rush back to make sure I was able to get in.
