I was a little hesitant about booking this property after seeing some previous reviews but I am so glad I took the chance. The apartment is beautiful, enormous and has great air conditioning, important since we were there mid-August. Amazingly, since it is located on the very busy Place des Papes, there is no street noise. The beds were very comfortable and the bathrooms were luxurious. We only used the elevator to move our luggage up and down, but it is very modern and opens right in front of the apartment door. If you decide to book, here are a few things you need to know: first, the door to the building is located between a gelato shop and a creperie and looks like an unlikely entrance, but the number is clearly marked over the door. The keys were not labeled or color coded in any way as described in the instructions, but we figured it out. Second, make a screen shot of the instructions before you leave because cellular service is weak in that area and you may not be able to navigate VRBO. The elevator requires a code to operate so make sure you know it ahead of time (for Americans this will be an easy one to remember). Finally, we had a little trouble communicating with the owners. Sometimes their responses didn’t make sense, which I imagine is the result of a poor translation app. If you speak English, when you write the owners use short, simple sentences which are easier for a translation program to correctly translate. Don’t miss the opportunity to explore Avignon from this gorgeous, well-appointment apartment. It is worth every penny you are spending.

A group of friends and I rented this property for a five-day vacation. The property's online description and pictures don't really describe how huge this place is. It was great for all of us. The location is prime. Absolutely everything is walkable. It has great air conditioning which, for August in Provence, is really necessary. You can't beat the location and the space. That being said, the cleanliness of the rental was not great. Two of three bathroom shower/bath drains were slow and, in one case, really nearly flooded the bathroom. Beds were okay, but pillows were not comfortable. Bedding was dusty. Host could be a lot more generous with towels (giving two people only two towels for a five-day stay when it's 95 degrees Fahrenheit out is not adequate), maybe some paper towels for the kitchen? Even with all of that, the price cannot be beat for what you are getting, but with a little higher price and some better quality towels, linens, and niceties, it would be better. I should mention that the day we checked in, there was no electricity at all in the unit. It took about three hours to get someone to come back to the rental and flip the correct breaker. We also were without internet for nearly three of five days. In fairness, this was an issue outside of the building and not really the fault of the host, but they didn't offer a solution until the evening before we were scheduled to leave. All that aside, I would definitely rent this property again should I ever come back to Provence.

The apartment was lovely and a good location. Check in was a nightmare. I requested check in information prior to our arrival and was instructed that someone would meet us, but was given no specifics on who to contact other than the contact on VRBO site, which I thankfully had printed out. There was no WiFi access in public areas in that area of Avignon, and we were unable use cell phones with our international access plans in that area of Avignon. We found ourselves at a door with no way to access the apartment. We were fortunate to have kind business folks and people who lived in the building use their social connections to get access information to the property for us, otherwise we would have been forced to try to find a hotel to spend the night. We did receive a message from a VRBO representative for the property on our fourth day there and a gift of wine and cookies. It is a beautiful property in a beautiful location, but if you book please be sure you have specific information on how to get in, codes for elevator and various key boxes. I am thankful for the kindness of strangers who assisted us. My rating. For this property would have been much higher had checkin not been such a nightmare. People in the area told us this is not an isolated experience, and there have been difficulties with check in for other groups.

The property was in an excellent location, heart of walled city among many restaurants.
However, it is a property which come no where close to meeting its adverts, photography and descriptions. It is the first VRBO which DID NOT meet or exceed its description.
Issues include: the living room Air Con was not operating, it stayed at a constant 26.5 C or higher, rendering the living room unusable. The upper bedroom was indescribably hot as the outside temps were in the 22 to 23 C.
The shower in main bedroom/bath drain was stopped causing an enormous overflow which guest had to clean up.
There were so few towels we had to collect from every bedroom just to have sufficient for the 4 guests. We did report the stopped drain, the lack of towels, the outage of the main a/c unit, and that some light bulbs were burned out. The drain was promptly unstopped and more towels were left, albeit still too few and nothing like t he staged picture.
The winding spiral staircase is a huge fall risk area as there is no hand rail of any type.
Overall, the unit was a total failure including poorly staged- junk stashed behind doors, a ladder just leaning against a wall inside the unit, dust bunnies and poorly cleaned baths- hair around tub base and in bathroom floors. etc.
I would never recommend this unit to anyone until the owner makes significant updates.
It was significantly underwhelming.

This rental is amazing. We could not believe what we found behind the door right off the Popes Palace Square! There is so much room to spread out and to gather. The dining room was prefect for a large group meal and it was so nice to have so many bathrooms.
The location is perfect and although you’re right in the center of town, it was quiet. I’d highly recommend!

The apartment is centrally located and an easy walk to monuments, shopping and restaurants. While the apartment decor/furnishings are a bit dated, it is a very spacious unit with plenty of room for a group to spread out and relax. Wi-Fi was fine in the central area of the apartment but practically nonexistent in the 2 bedrooms on the main level. Caroline was a wonderful host. She was accessible for any questions and provided helpful information on restaurants and shopping.

This is a wonderful home with an amazing location and extremely thoughtful and attentive support from Caroline. The photos do not do this property justice, it is spacious, comfortable, and a perfect place for a family. We brought our daughter, who is just under two, and the home provided everything we needed and more.

Hugely spacious property right in the heart of Avignon — incredible location. The host was very helpful in all the descriptions and directions. One of my daughters forgot her precious “Bunny” stuffed animal when we left, and our host went out of her way to mail Bunny back to us in Switzerland! Highly recommend.
