About this house rental
We are a family of 5 and a friendly cat. Our cozy basement is in our home in Silver Spring MD, located near I-95/495, Washington, DC, National Archives and the FDA. It's a studio space with a separate entrance and includes a full bathroom, kitchen, and a wood burning fireplace.
Your furry friend is welcome but must be up-to-date on all shots and vaccines as well as free of all ticks and fleas, on current treatment to prevent infestation, and potty trained.
Our Cozy Basement studio is unique as it was custom-built by a high-end builder in the DMV area. It is fully functional and equipped for cooking or you can simply try the variety of ethnical restaurants in the area.
The water in our home is also filtered and has a water softener, which is healthier for your skin. We also use mostly green products and air freshers to clean our home.
To help keep the space clean and free of germs, please remove your shoes upon entry.
The gym area is the only shared space, also used by the family.
Guest access:
As a guest you have access to local TV, Netflix, WiFi, a fireplace, full kitchen, and a large backyard (which is where our family spends a lot of time together). We would love to offer you a taste of our traditional Caribbean dish one day, if interested.
Our living space upstairs is off limits but we still enjoy interacting with you. We also respect you privacy if you prefer that as well but really want someone here who is friendly and easy going.
Please also note, to help save energy and water, we request that you:
1. Turn off all lights and electricity, when you leave.
2. Turn off the AC/Heat unit, when you leave.
3. Don't fittle with the AC/heat unit. The basement stays pretty cool during the fall, spring and summer months. It will be adjusted according to the weather but we will assist accordingly.
4. PLEASE keep in mind that this is not a hotel. We ask that you treat our place as you would your own. If you don't like to interact or have no consideration, a hotel may be best suited for you.
Other things to note:
Our family lives upstairs and we have children. We stress that guest should be friendly and positive. Anyone with a prior or current sex offender record is in NO WAY welcome here.
