While this property boasts a saltwater pool, poolside hot tub, tropical bar, sundeck, and gas grill to keep everyone entertained, you'll also enjoy easy access to the beach, a variety of local restaurants, and several popular attractions including Galveston Island State Park, Magic Carpet Golf, Moody Gardens, and the Grand 1894 Opera House, all within 15 miles of your door.

Begin each day with fresh brewed coffee and hot breakfasts prepared in your well-equipped, full kitchen with updated appliances, and then dine poolside to start your day in the cool air blowing in off the Gulf of Mexico. As the day progresses, indulge in a refreshing swim in your saltwater pool, soak your cares away in your private hot tub, or just bask in the sunshine from your favorite chaise lounge. This property also includes two sunrooms (one of which boasts a wood-burning fireplace), two tropical bars for entertaining, and hammocks for lazy afternoons.

Back indoors, enjoy nautical decor throughout and comfortable furnishings, and settle into the living area to stream your favorite shows and movies in the glow of the electric fireplace.

At the end of each day, rest easy in one of four bedrooms including one with dual bunks that are sure to please younger guests.

We absolutely enjoyed the house! The upstairs porch was such a great place to enjoy morning coffee and visit! The pool was perfect! The staff arrived two times in our week long stay and cleaned the pool and hot tub thoroughly! We found ourselves spending lots of time beside the pool! The neighbors were great! No complaints on music or such as noted in the other comments. However, we did respect the quiet time of 10PM where we moved upstairs to hang out! The check out was easy and clean up was a minimal check list as required by owners. Things you may want to pack is a few essential kitchen items, foil pans, a pot or two, and maybe a baking sheet! Other than that this house was amazing for us! We will book again for sure! Also, for longer stays we would recommend a golf cart rental! The beach is close but not walking distance for younger children or if you’re lugging a lot of items to the beach. 😁

Overall we very much enjoyed our stay at the Wet Mermaid in Jamaica Beach, TX The house is older but mostly well maintained. The pool is large and the area very enjoyable. However aALL the patio furniture is old and mostly not useable. The upstairs A/C works well. The downstairs A/C was hit and miss, it would freeze up easy.

We booked this home for a family reunion and had family flying in from out of state with 2 small children. The photos don’t accurately portray the actual layout of the house. The room with the bunk beds smelled either like mold or marijuana, and the smell lingered the entire weekend. The ac units in the bunk room and in the small bedroom downstairs did not work upon arrival, and it took over 24 hours for someone to come by and fix them, even though we informed the property manager that people had to sleep in the rooms due to our party size. The water in the hot tub was green. The grill initially did not start and clearly hadn’t been cleaned in months. We also did not have access to the small kitchen area downstairs until the second day we were there. Given all the issues we encountered, we asked the property manager for a late checkout, but they told us we’d have to pay $100 to check out after 10am. All in all a very disappointing stay.

House was clean and was an easy check in. Neighbor called the police many times for loud noise and we were not loud. The cops even agreed. If you like to listen to music don’t book here.

When arriving to the property the check in was fairly easy with keys in a lock box, although what was not shared was the disconnect of the home. Two of the bedrooms did not have access to the rest of the home, only to outside which was not shown in the pictures and could potentially be dangerous and an inconvenience for families with young children. With the house advertising that it sleeps 16, with that being true bed-wise, the rest of the house such as the living room and kitchen would not be an ideal amount of space for that many people. Not only that, the hot tub was not hot for our entire week stay. It was below 80 degrees the whole week which was a major inconvenience with our stay being in March and the weather not being hot, the hot tub was a major factor in choosing the house. When trying to contact someone about the hot tub, we were told someone would be sent to investigate the issue but no one ever came and it was never resolved. The house was clean and the location from the beech was a plus.
