The cottage is only a 10-minute walk from the charming downtown of Carlton, often called the capital of Oregon wine country for its many wine-tasting rooms, cafes, and casual fine-dining. An adjacent state wildlife refuge provides an excellent place for migratory bird watching. Guests are raving about the location and unexpected luxury of this remarkable property.

From the comfort of the home's style and thorough accommodations to a relaxing outdoor space, you'll find everything you need to make your Wine Country Getaway memorable. The interior of the home offers an open and spacious living room with a flat-screen TV, and a dining area with seating for four guests featuring picture windows allowing for lots of natural light. The fully-equipped kitchen with new appliances has everything you`ll need for preparing home-cooked meals from the comfort of your home away from home, making Country View Cottage Unwined a comfortable retreat to relax with family and friends after a day of wine tasting.

The two bedrooms feature a queen bed in one room and two twins in the other. Both rooms are equipped with storage for clothing and luxury linens. In the hallway, there is the shared bathroom with a shower/tub combo where you can find towels, a hairdryer, and everything you will need to pamper yourself during your stay!

Your backyard patio offers a cozy space to retreat to with your freshly brewed morning coffee from Caravan or a glass of wine under the stars. You’re also welcome to enjoy the shared spacious outdoor lawn area perfect for yard games or simply a fun area for kids to play. This home shares outdoor space with a second unit, so you may encounter some friendly neighbors during your stay.

Right across the street find Cana's Feast winery with its tasty Tuscan-style wines and fun Bocce Ball court. The famed Carlton Winemakers Studio is less than a block away and features nearly a dozen boutique wine producers. And of course, you'll love that there are nearly two dozen tasting rooms in Carlton alone, representing all regions of Oregon viticulture, and other wineries in the surrounding hills.

We had a perfect Honeymoon in the valley with Lifestyle Properties. It was exactly what we wanted - a cute place that was very cozy and in a great spot. We walked down to the Winemakers Studio, explored downtown Carlton, and enjoyed all the connections that come with Lifestyle Properties - like an excellent tour with Pinot Car! We will absolutely be staying with Lifestyle again.

They misrepresented sleeping accommodation and wouldn’t fulfill once we got there. Furniture was old and couch had numerous cracks in it. Numerous outlet’s wouldn’t work. Otherwise place was clean.

The little duplex is cute and had everything we needed. Plus it is across the street from one winery and a block from a winemakers studio. Pretty sweet! The town is a couple minutes down the road, where there are more wine tasting options plus food.

This charming place is perfectly located on the edge of Carlton across from Cana's Feast winery and close to the town of Carlton, a 5 minute drive. It is beautifully decorated with a Wine theme. Meticulous rooms, kitchen and bathroom with a lovely deck out back. We look forward to coming again.

I’m reluctant to give this review since the new property management company apparently plans to update the place. That said, our experience was just so-so. Most everything was in working order (although the wifi was out for the duration of our trip), but the appliances and furnishings are dated and the beds are squishy. The place could also use a deep clean. The location can’t be beat, very close to the from the Winemakers Studio, Cana’s Feast, and an easy walk to downtown Carlton, so that was a major plus.

Small but satisfactory cottage with noise issues. We found the cottage to be a satisfactory rental for our 40-day visit to Oregon. Inside the cottage was clean and ready for our arrival however the grill literally caught on fire because it was so dirty and clearly had not been cleaned in a long time (it’s clean and safe now that we cleaned it and replaced the moldy grill brush with a new one). The cottage is small but well laid out with a comfortable queen bed, decent bath, and adequate living room furniture (keep off the rickety rocking chair). The kitchen is very small and better suited for a weekend stay than a long term rental. The outdoor space is very nice and private and the carport very handy. The cottage is conveniently located for visiting the surrounding wineries and other more interesting Oregon attractions (Silver Falls, Columbia River, Tillamook, Pacific Coast, Mt Hood, etc.). There is not much of anything in the town of Carlton itself but McMinnville is an easy, short drive away and has everything you should need. There are a few thing to be aware of with this rental. Surprisingly the street noise in front of the cottage is loud and constant from about 5am to 5pm (semis, other trucks, excessively loud cars, motorcycles, and the such). This caught us by surprise since Carlton is such a small town in a rural location but the traffic noise is loud and non-stop. Also be aware that if you are here when the lawn service arrives, expect to be awakened by 7am. That’s a bit too early for lawn service to start. Overall this was a fine rental for our stay in Oregon. The issues with the cottage were not so problematic as to ruin out stay and it did make a convenient home base for exploring the area although I do think it is better suited for short term stays.

This little gem was a wonderful spot to see family, taste great wines and visit all that Carlton has to offer. It’s literally surrounded by wineries and just around the corner are great restaurants and boutiques. Five stars on all except that it sits right off of a busier highway that gets noisy at traffic time but I would not let that interfere with staying there. Its just a mention if you’re looking for complete quiet. I will say that one unit has a better view of the valley so if that’s important, be sure to ask which one. Beds were comfy and lots of hot water!! Friendly neighbors too. Lots of hellos on our morning walks. Thank you Lora.

We have rented Lora’s cottage for many years on our annual trip to Carlton. The cottage is always clean and well appointed. We appreciate the welcome bottle of wine and the special touches that make our stay comfortable and enjoyable. The location is perfect for your trip to wine country!

We had a lovely stay at the Country View Cottage. It is very close to Carlton with two tasting sites right across the street and down the road. We spent two days driving the beautiful roads of this wine region and then headed home to relax. It was great.

We stayed at Country View Cottage #2 for 4 weeks. It was a wonderful location for both visiting family in Portland and Salem, as well as hiking at nearby State parks, golfing, and, of course, enjoying the wineries. Cana’s Feast across the street is fabulous! You can walk to the town of Carlton in less than 10 minutes. For a small town it offers a good variety of restaurants and wine tasting establishments. The Cottage was very clean and ample room for the two of us. The kitchen is well supplied so cooking in was not a problem. We had the pleasure of meeting the hosts Lora and Durham. They are a delight. I highly recommend cottage #2 in Carlton.
