extremely comfortable and enjoyable. The staff were friendly and helpful, The only criticism would be the dinner which was not very hot and when reheated was dry. The breakfast wad tasty but once again not hot enough.

We were badgered to sign up for an express check-in, but when we got there, we were told the screen to do this wasn't working, so we joined a queue. On check out there was no one on reception so we tried the express check out, this time the screen was working. It said it would tell us where to drop the room key cards on completion bug didn't! So we had to go round the hotel to find a member of staff, who said the drop box was by the exit door (which is no where near the reception). You might think this is finicky but it was symptomatic of other experiences during our stay. Thx web site says you can't reserve a table you just turn up,do wd did SBC the majority of tables had a reserve sign on them! We picked one that wasn't reserved but 5 minutes later a staff member came and placed a reserved sign on our table and told us we had 90 minutes to vacate it, no finesse or apology! Lastly the food quantities were meagre. I had a mixed grill and ig was tiny, I got far more for my English breakfast the following day. Apart from that we had a lovely room, very comfortable and really good garden views. We used to eat here regularly years ago when we lived in the area, fo we thought we would treat ourselves by staying there. Would we go back again, no, not with what happened and we couldn't recommend them to anyone else either, we just felt disappointed.

This is the third time I have stayed at the Ripon Inn this year. The renovation and decoration are excellent. The standard of the public spaces and bedrooms are superb. Breakfast is also excellent. A couple of grumbles, some of the staff need to be smarter and friendly. Also the best offers (inclusion of dinner vouchers included within the price), are straight from their own website, hotels.com don’t match them.

Arrived on Friday. Straight to ar and order food. Met Caitlin, she made us feel relaxed and we had a good chat. All the staff were very friendly and helpful. Thank you, we both had a great weekend xx

Excellent stay, all recently refurbished and spotlessly clean, would definitely stay again if in the area. Only slight gripe was lots of the rooms looked like they had nice garden views and ours was of a fire escape! So if we stayed again I'd avoid room 31!

Workmen booked in my room on one day of my stay...not good. Shower in my bathroom/wetroom flooded the whole room. wetting the bedroom carpet. Free breakfast good.

I have stayed at this hotel in its previous guise at Ripon Spa Hotel. It was run down and needed a major refurbishment, but staff were wonderful. Now, after being bought by The Inn Group, it has been refurbished, very nice decor, but the young staff are not 'interested' or bothered enough to assist clients. I watched them playing on their phones, whilst other guests were looking for help! Such a shame!

Lovely hotel with ample parking and nice gardens & patio … perfect buffet breakfast included in my £89 double room … different menu featured pheasant fettuccini & partridge skewers £6:15 a pint tho … really nice staff I made a mistake with my dates on line & they switched them for me hassle free on arrival

Lovely brand new hotel in the centre of Ripon. All staff where friendly & pleasant. A number of room choices but always confirm if a bath is one of your request ! More rooms with shower. Very clean & nice bar food. Would visit again.

What we didn't like was the slamming of doors and noise from other guests late at night, theirs no way when booking to request a quiet room, no way to contact hotel direct as phone says not available and no email address!

Comfortable hotel in a good location, with friendly and helpful staff and attractive outdoor spaces (terrace and grounds). Generous breakfast buffet. A nice touch: guests who opted not to have their rooms serviced were given a voucher for a free drink at the bar. Good for the environment, albeir money-saving for the hotel. Not so good: a large hotel like this with two upper floors should have more than one lift, and the fact that it had broken down during most of our stay underlined the problem. Many of the guests (included my friend and myself) were elderly so this was not convenient. The recent refurbishment possibly focussed on the decor (which was nice and quirky, in a kind of Victorian pub style) at the expense of practicality. Overall, I would recommend this hotel.

Initial room was nice but located right next to car park so asked to change and ended up in a cramped room at to of building, maybe this was too give me quiet but I didn't ask for a quiet room just one not next to the car park

An excellent hotel. Our room and bathroom were first class, with loads of room in each. The bedroom contained a settee , 2 chairs and table, plus a small desk. The bathroom was similarly sized. Only bugbear was the slowness of the lift over 2 floors. If the film "Sleepless in Seattle" had used this lift Meg Ryan and Tom Hanks would never have got together. The food and service in the bar and restaurant was very good without being excellent. Overall impression was excellent.

Was a very short stay, but the place is lovely and fitted to a good standard. Good little touches with tea/ coffee and biscuits. Even had hot chocolate, which is always a bonus in my book! Breakfast was included and delicious (especially the hash browns). Would definitely recommend staying here if you're in the area!

Overnight stop. First time stay. Very nice hotel. Staff very helpful. Room a little on the small size and shower was a tight fit. Wi-Fi was a bit weak in the room. But overall we would definitely stay here again.
