fabulous. lovely personal and friendly welcome. the bed was off the scale for cosiness. the room was wonderful, quiet (except for the birdsong that woke me) and restful and the breakfast sumptuous. A great sleep, followed by a great start to my day!

Weekend in Vallorcine

Very welcoming and warm atmosphere, great hosts and delicious petit dejeuner! Helen was very helpful and we had a lot of good talks every single morning during the breakfast. The room itself was very well equipped and warm. We had a perfect staying in Vallorcine!

Amazing hosting experience! We couldn't ask for better! Helen and Steve create a homely atmosphere with attention to detail and lots of kindness and giving. A rich breakfast, a beautiful yard, clean rooms and a stream flowing under the balcony. Highly recommend for those who want to get away from the busy and expensive cities.

Amazing!!!

Everything was simply lovely! Amazing host, amazing chalet. Extremely picturesque. Very clean. Very cosy. Lovely ski slopes, cross country pistes and hikes around! Great location! Just perfect all around!

The guest house was spotlessly clean in all areas. Our room was very pleasant and comfortable, and we had no problem relaxing. The communal area was a home from home and a place where we were able to take in the great mountain views and enjoy the peaceful location of Vallorcine. We tried Helens Mountain breakfast, and there was plenty of good food provided for a substantial breakfast. Overall, Helen and Steve were great hosts, very hospitable, and we very much enjoyed staying at the Guest House, and certainly would again.

Helen was a lovely host, very attentive and caring.

Absolutely beautiful house, looks like it came out of a fairy tale. The house on the inside was so beautifully decorated, it was so cozy. You can see the attention to detail and love that was put into it. It really felt like you belonged in someone’s story, that’s the best way I can describe how intimate the place felt.

We are thankful for a magical stay

Our time at the guest house was a blessing, so quiet and truly dark at night, great for deep rest and recovery from a day of skiing. We stayed at the room with the bath tub, it was so delightful to soak before dinner time. The best part of our stay was the breakfasts and late evenings, when we gathered around the dining room table and chime in for conversations with guests from all over Europe. Helen, our host had such a maternal and nourshing presence, when she scrambles you eggs for breakfast and brings you coffee it is such a speacial feeling. We are thankful for a magical stay at Vallorcine and we are going to come back soon.

the house is a bit remote to the street and parking.. which is good but also would be challenging for people with limited mobility, baby prams , etc.

Amazing Chalet in Vallorcine!

the best place we have been to. steve and helene are just wonderful hosts who are just lovely and helpful. We felt like we were staying with friends. The chalet has been prepared with a lot of love and is simply fantastic in nature. everything great. we will be back, thank you very much :)

If your like rustic and feel adventurous you’ll love this. It feels like your at a friends house

The breakfast was delicious the hostess was friendly and kind.

Reviews stated the driveway is long and steep but I didn’t realize it was also rocky so I was unable to roll my suitcase up. It was too heavy to carry so Very inconvenient.

The Guest House is the best place to stay near Chamonix

Helen's property is astoundingly good. The Guest House was comfortable, beautiful, clean, well decorated, and in a stunning location on a huge plot of land surrounded by breathtaking scenery. Helen is such a warm, friendly, caring host - and the breakfast she provides every morning is excellent, with a wide selection of breads, jam, yogurt, cereals, meats and cheeses. We absolutely loved staying here and hope to be back - maybe for some skiing in the winter.

Wonderful place

Beautiful location, would have liked to have been there longer. Took the train from Chamonix to Vallorcine for the night and then walked across to Switzerland early the next morning to catch a connecting train. Fantastic host, enjoyed our chat.

Staying here was the best part of our vacations.

I think we are in love with this place now and hopefully we have many opportunities to go back. We wanted a quiet place to rest after visiting family all week and we found it. It is a lovely cozy house surrounded by beautiful mountains. Breakfast was delicious, our host Helen was lovely, we had great chats over breakfasts with her. We couldn't be happier about our stay.

A lovely home-away-from-home experience.

The Guest House is a lovely place to stay for a quiet get-away. There are lovely hikes nearby, and you can take a gondola up the mountain from next to the train station. Helen is very welcoming and helpful, and prepares a tasty full breakfast. We cooked our own dinner one night in the common area kitchen. The garden was full of flowers in June, and the view from the balcony is so picturesque.
