Localização e a vista, simplesmente perfeitas

Lugar tranquilo, bien ubicado, limpio, atendido por sus dueños, muy amables.
La carencia de baños exclusivos.

Our host was most welcoming and showed us to a room with a large window opening to a spectacular view of the fjord. That night one of several congenial guests joined us to walk a short distance down to the fjord to enjoy the floating sauna and icy dips in the refreshing water. More than once we joined guests in the living room to enjoy the view, conversation, and wine. In the tiny town of Flam, about a five-minute walk along the fjord, we enjoyed several nice meals, rode a Rib Boat for a close examination of two fjords, and finally caught the ferry to Gudvangen to continue our journey to Bergen. The Svingen Guesthouse could not be more perfectly located.
Electrical outlets were a little awkward.

Het uitzicht formidabel! De gastvrijheid en heerlijk schoon.
Je waant je weer in de jaren 60 van de vorige eeuw. Echt een must!

Excellent location- great view, easy walking distance to the sauna/swim, to the central harbour- but also a nice distance away from the central tourist hub!
Excellent, welcoming staff

Tolle Aussicht, ruhige Lage, netter Empfang. Nette Vermieter.
Das Wetter hätte sonniger sein können Ab und zu ein kleiner Regenschauer.

Location and the view. Kitchen usage.
Thin walls, noise from next room guests. Shower is small.

The quiet location and the friendly family running it made it exceptional. Joe has selected and displayed interesting 20th C furniture. There are two balconies, two living rooms and dining tables to choose from. The shared kitchen is very well equipped. The whole place was super clean and there were lots of interesting books on the fjords to look at and read.
This is not like a hotel with swanky en-suite.

Loved this little cottage which was not far from main drag in Flam. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Bedroom was quite spacious and views of the fjord was great.
Room was a bit stuffy and warm at night as window could not open fully for fresh air. Could do with a small table fan to circulate the air in the room. Walls between rooms is quite thin and could hear the neighbours talking! And shower became cold (running out of hot water) quite quickly!

From the cruise docks, you can roll your luggage along the water and then U-turn up a road to the guesthouse. Very quick walk. I had a fjord-view room on the 1st floor, and there was comfortable seating on the 2nd floor and balcony. Very peaceful setting and quiet. There’s only 2 bedrooms on the 1st floor so it was like having my own shower. My room had blackout curtains & sheer curtains - which was needed being on the 1st floor. The hosts can help you with planning activities. They have discount for kayaking tours - too bad I didn’t have time for that.
Doors are very light and slam easily - so I wished everyone staying in the guesthouse would learn to close their doors quietly. Also, sounds are easily heard in the house, people staying there need to be quieter at night. Definitely try to stay in Flam when the big cruise ships aren’t in - it’s much calmer when it’s only ships with 150-200 passengers.

It’s the accommodation with the best view to the Fjord, better than other hotels even as it’s right by the water. The view is great directly from the room. Everything is very clean and tidy. The kitchen is well equipped and the personnel are very friendly and helpful. There were three shower rooms and one was always available during our stay so that was great. WiFi was good also. I would recommend.

Location of the accommodation was amazing with a breathtaking view over the fjords!

Nada.

One of the best places I have ever stayed. The house is filled with love and warmth, it is very soulful and peaceful. The staff is wonderful and super friendly. It is incredibly beautiful both inside and outside. You really don't want to leave such places, and when you leave, you want to come back.

Lovely location just a short walk from the centre of Flåm with amazing views over the fjord! The guesthouse has such character and everything you need for the most comfortable stay. Joe the manager and Jürgen were so friendly and helpful and really made the stay even more enjoyable
Nothing. We were a bit concerned about the shared bathrooms on booking but it was not an issue at all. Don’t let it put you off!

The guest house is immaculate with stunning views of the fjords and has a very welcoming and friendly staff.
Joe, one of the owners, was a lot of fun to talk to. The guest house is in a great location close to town and a sauna.

Obviously the view was amazing. But what I loved was that the bed was comfortable, the place is kept super clean, and staff was super hospitable. It’s a charming and quirky place - as they said, read the description carefully- and for this traveler it was absolutely perfect!

Read any review on this and you will know it was a fantastic view. This is house retains the vibe of the former family who lived in it in some ways, so its like a house-hostel a la Grandma. It’s cute, I mean the bathroom was even decked out in pink tiles with accent of mint. It’s in a great location, just away from the main hub of Flåm/the dock/port area. you have a floating sauna near and the staff at the house were all really wonderful to connect with. Very cute and charming place. If you go- read the guest book. It’s endearing to see what ppl had to say about it in the 80’s. There are 7 rooms, 3 full baths and a couple of half baths so there was never any issues accessing a bathroom when needed. There is a full kitchen that is available for use, as well!
The walls are not very soundproof. Though, it would have been fine had the people next door to me had just been considerate and not talking at a normal volume until 1am. I didn’t sleep well and that was a bummer, and I think it would be great if the House had clearly stated quiet hours- as far as I could tell they didn’t so I definitely didn’t feel comfortable asking the people to be quieter.

Nice, old and spectacular home with great location to do all things in Flåm area. Small, nice rooms (go for sea view room) and you share facilities with others. Not a 5 star hotel with breakfast and room service, but clean and a very good experience. The view is amazing.

It's all about the view- large picture window to the harbor from our room. Friendly and helpful staff, and many young travelers staying there also.
The guest house has no official name, and no signage, so the locals in town didn't know where it was, but they helped us figure it out from the map on the reservation. It was a bit of a walk from the train with no apparent other option to get there. But it was a beautiful walk along the waterfront (as it wasn't raining.) Our room was downstairs and had a musty damp smell. The bathroom facilities are shared, as described, like a hostel. The toilet room is cramped.

Spent 3 nights here. It is a very lovely home away from home, complete with a full kitchen, dining/lounge rooms and a pink bathroom. Loved the view of the fjord from my room. Location wise couldn't be any better, near the town but not too close to the busy-ness especially when the cruise ships come in. Staff very friendly and helpful, Joe is awesome.
Some guests may not understand the concept of house share, at times it can get a bit noisy especially at night, like stomping on the stairs and slamming their doors. So perhaps a gentle reminder when they check in would be great.

Excellent location. It has an incredible view, a comfortable mattress, and a clean, nice property. The kitchen has all the necessities with a nice extra touch, like the selection of teas and freshly brewed coffee in the morning. Hosts are very hospitable, open, and flexible.
Nothing I can think of.

The house is in an excellent location and we had a beautiful view of the fjord from the room. The house is also within short walk from the town centre, which was really nice as we didn’t have a car.
Hosts were very friendly and made us feel welcoming and helpful with information when Vy train abandoned travellers by cancelling trains without providing information about alternative information or making alternative arrangements.
The house is old yet beautiful property with periodic features. It’s very well maintained and kept the hosts make a great effort to keep it clean and maintain.
Unfortunately the property has thin walls so we could hear everything our next door people talking. John intervened when I informed the situation and we had a peaceful evening.
The quality of beds can be improved. They are very soft and are two small single beds than standard single.
4.5
The location is brilliant and it allows us to gaze directly upon the majestic fjord from our room.
The staff is very friendly. Whenever we have questions, they were very delighted to help us.
The public area is clean and well maintained. On a sunny day, we can also eat in the balcony and enjoy the magnificent view.
We did not expect that sleeping became an issue during our stay. One of the primary factors was the thin white curtain that failed to block out the light. Another drawback was the absence of sound isolation. Despite with ear plug, we could hear people walking in the hallway till midnight and again before 6am from public area.
4.5
Good location with great view. The house is very well organized (fridge, tea available, compost etc), enough WC and shower for the amount of people and clean.
The thing hiding the window in our room didn’t close completely all the way to the side so there were quite some light coming in the room. For us (light sleeper) it would have been helpful to have an extra curtain.

Joe was great!

Super cozy, clean house with a terrific view from the balcony! Hosts are lovely guys with a great sense of humor. Highly recommend and wish to come back here again!

The host was very welcoming and informative, the place has got this international 'hostel' vibe so you get to interact with people from all over the world.
The bathroom situation could be improved, in case its fully booked (which is indeed the case in Summer) expect long que
ue in the morning 'rush hour' as there are only two showers.

This property is a house and you rent a room and share bathroom and the kitchen. It is very close to where the ferry docked and you can walk to the property. The house is decorated very cutely in a Mid Century decor. Very clean and quiet. There is a restaurant across the street or you can cook your own food.
Just need a Sign on the property and a few better directions online.

View (terrace), hospitality, common rooms.
Common WC (clean but too small and too "rustic")
