It was clean and nice view. Well maintained apartment.

Good value for the money

Room was clean and cozy. The shower was a bit too small to use comfortably. Staff were friendly and helpful. The location is right on the lake and there is a lounge and dining hall that offer stunning views. Would recommend visiting the Dark Sky Project which is directly next door.

Classic hostel. Nice kitchen, clean, spacious common area. Bunk bed could be bigger - not really for tall person like me...

The view from the window is so amazing!

We really don’t understand the negative feedback here. It is very central, has beautiful lake view and even though we had our room right next to the communal area with Billard pool table, it was quite and we slept very well. The staff is very friendly too and there is a huge kitchen with many cook tops and oven for the guests to prepare meals. :-)

Perfect property for Lake Tekapo and Stargazing!

Great location. Beautiful scenery. Staff friendly. Shopping center close by.

A bit disappointed at the room, old and next to rubbish.

Great well equipped kitchen & facilities with plenty of space. Comfortable chillout zones and great view over Lake Tekapo. Walking distance to supermarket and close to Church of the Good Shepherd

My stay here was really good, the view was amazing and I really enjoyed my meals at the outdoor seating area of the hotel.

Booked 2 single beds with bathroom, but was disappointed, the evening/ night was noisy with teenager guests, no milk coffee, tea etc, very small room, and expensive, view from window of rubbish and bottle bins, so noisy when bottles thrown out. Positive was location and room clean.

Close to everything
Great views of the Lake

The hotel service was excellent, and the accommodation room was also very nice. I was a bit flustered during my first experience in the public restaurant, but it was definitely a memorable experience. I would definitely visit again if given the chance.

The views

Upscale hostel with available en suite rooms right on the Lake with its stunning views. Excellent, if busy, communal kitchen for those who wish to cook. Our en suite room had a Lake View and small fridge. The location is perfect. Mostly young backpacker crowd our room was quiet and comfortable.

Private room in a hostel horribly over-priced. The room was boiling on a 20-degree day in March. When we walked in there were bugs all over the ceiling because the open window had no screen, to be fair, don’t think many hotels have them in NZ. A fan was provided but it was useless, so sleeping wasn’t easy. Room was fine, very small, otherwise clean. Not our couple of tea but it was in an awesome location, great views of the lake and close to everything this fab town offers.

This is a large backpacking type facility for all sorts of travelers. Very modern, clean & tidy with spectacular views. The building is of poor quality with respect to sound. Fire doors have been installed for every room, therefore hinged. The doors slam all night & early morning, as people come & go and get up to go to toilet. The noise echoes down the corridors. It's an assault to the senses and doesn't make it a relaxing, peaceful place to stay. I booked a 4-bed dorm room with ensuite. Thats how it is advertised on WOTIF site. What it doesn't say (that I could find) was there is a chance you will be placed in a mixed room. That may not suit many people and should be made clearer. So when I asked management on that day (2 guys) about this, I was bluntly informed that's what I booked through WOTIF. There are NO ensuite rooms for females only. So, unless I could prove to them my booking via WOTIF said something different, I was not able to change rooms. I would have been happy to change to a non-ensuite dorm room. It was quietly implied to me to "suck it up" for one night! I found that really not customer service focussed and disappointing.

The most expensive night in my South Island trip ($370) including nights at the Hilton. No TV, very small room, you are requested to strip your own linen off the beds. This is a hostel, not a hotel, although Expedia the positions it as a hotel.

Parking is in a gravel shared parking lot. You have to drag your luggage across rocks to the entrance. Staff is good but not very friendly. Very close to iconic church. And the lake is right outside your window. Location location location!!!

Room was very small. Had a decent size bathroom with a very small shower. No TV (they did give a discount after we complained.) Had to get the staff to sign into wifi because it didn't work. They eventually signed us into the staff wifi. Very expensive for what you get and not worth it.

we really appreciate them, holding onto my wife’s medicine and keeping it refrigerated for her until we could retrieve it. She accidentally left it in the refrigerator. The only thing we had problems with is arriving after dark. It was very difficult to find the location. The sign on the building, almost matches the color of the building.

What a fantastic spot for a short stay ! We stayed in an ensuite room- clean and functional - compact but enough for 2 nights .Excellent service, clean shared kitchen and great open spaces for work or gathering. The location is fantastic - stunning views to the lake and within walking distance to all Tekapo has to offer.

The view is worth the drive alone. For a hostel it is better than most but quiet noisy and hard to sleep.

Really excellent for a youth hostel, in a stunning location on the lakeside. We had an ensuite double room, upstairs as we had requested. Clean, comfortable, with small fridge, hairdryer and kettle in the room - so didn't use the communal facilities.

The bed sheets didn’t look washed/ fresh. The soap dispenser in the bathroom was empty. Looked like a rinse and repeat room

Great hostel right on the lake. Lots of restaurants and food trucks right outside. Shared facilities were clean and other residents were polite and quiet. Check in closed at 8pm. The best part was that stargazing was very easily accessible.

At the time of booking, it seemed like one of the best options in the area, considering that most of the options were motels; however, the place is mostly meant for students and young people and is quite uncomfortable if you are expecting a hotel-like experience.
I mean, it gets the job done and the place is decent but feels more like a dorm.

The TV wasn't working, there was no coffee or supplies in the room, and the common areas were very loud until midnight.

Very modern and fresh hostel. Private room was great - good size, comfortable bed, nice view. Best kitchen in any hostel I’ve ever been to with incredible views from the dining area and lounge upstairs. Atmosphere was OK but not the most social for solo travellers, although fine for a night or two (plus there aren’t really many choices by the lake).
3.0
Great location and functional. I wish they had some coffee in the room! Not asking for much!
