Admire spectacular views of Mt. Desert Narrows from nearly every room of this oceanfront cottage, peacefully situated in a wooded grove on Brooklin's scenic shores. This is what coastal living in Maine is all about - sipping your coffee on the screened porch at sunrise and watching the passing sailboats from your deck in the afternoon.
This single-story, oceanfront home sits five miles north of small-town Brooklin. The house itself is private and independent, but it is also part of a larger family compound with a common road (and the homeowner living next door). Hike the Hundred Acre Wood Trail just down the street, head out to Deer Isle for a quiet day of exploring (eight miles south), and take unforgettable excursions to Acadia National Park (37 miles).
The cottage is a showcase of its surroundings, from the path that leads through the trees to the ocean shore to the glass doors and windows that frame the view at every turn. After a day spent hiking, kayaking, sailing, or driving the Midcoast, come home to light the gas grill, share stories on the back deck, and dine outside in the fresh ocean air.
Inside, the light-filled living space is accented by an open floor plan and beautiful details of natural wood. Whether you're utilizing the stainless steel kitchen appliances to prepare dinner, playing board games at the dining room table, or streaming movies in the living room, you'll do it all with a panoramic view of the water. Come nightfall, rest assured that everyone will sleep soundly amidst the plush bedding available in each of the bedrooms.

We were looking for a quiet getaway and it fit the bill. From beautiful sunrises nice campfire, watching lobsterman bring in their pots to two days seeing a part of porposes in front of the property.
Thank you a beautiful time.

A beautiful cottage on the water that was well appointed. It was a perfect place for our visit to Maine. The only disappointment was we were never connected to WiFi.

Right on the water with spectacular views. Peaceful and quiet surroundings with lots of trees. Very comfortable. Perfect place for relaxing and enjoying sunrises over the hills of Acadia.

We absolutely loved our time at this home. It was quintessential Maine. It has wonderful harbor and Acadia views. We loved getting up and having coffee on the screened in porch and after a day in Acadia, we loved coming home to build a fire and sit outside. After the crowds of Acadia it was refreshing to come back to this home and enjoy the water and peace. I would recommend this home to anyone travelling the coast of Maine.

This place is a beautiful family home situated in a quaint and quiet area of Maine away from the touristy destinations. However, the drive to Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park was quick and serene. The amenities and quality of this house was over the top and it had all the things we needed to prepare for family dinners and to spend time outside near the fire pit. The view from the back was charming and picturesque with direct access to the water. Overall, our stay was relaxing and unforgettable. There were no problems during our stay and we would gladly stay here again.

The only things our family of 5 would change is to have more comfortable seating and more of it. We wanted to gather in the family area, but the chairs near the fireplace weren't as friendly to long game or puzzle sessions.
My kids also wished for a water filter because they didn't love the taste of the tap water. We would totally stay again!

It was a wonderful week of exploring Maine's Acadia National Park and visiting the little towns. The house was always a welcome sight after all the daily activities. We would book again.

We visited the first week in November. The property is gorgeous, but the listings between VRBO and Vacasa (a third party that handles the actual communication for check in and such) have huge discrepancies about being dog friendly. This caused significant stress when we arrived as we had to find the original listing saying we could bring our small dog.
I would definitely recommend the property, but just be sure you keep track of what you are agreeing to.
Also, the bedrooms were warm enough for us, but the common area was hard to heat with the vaulted ceilings. It would not be comfortable in really cold weather.

The home is situated on the waterfront with an amazing view. Very comfortable bedrooms and living areas which we all enjoyed. Not enough time to truly appreciate the home's quiet ambiance. One of the guest's left behind a family photo album which was quickly mailed back to her...for that we are so thankful. We highly recommend this property and would return again when we could spend more time just relaxing in the solitude.

Our party truly enjoyed staying on this gorgeous piece of property. Unfortunately, we lost power and water for approximately 18 hours due to a tropical storm. We did not have a name or a phone number for the local property manager, and were unable to request help. We contacted Vacasa on the 800 number and were informed that an urgent request would be put through for some assistance. We never heard anything. However, the caretaker/maintenance man came to check on the property on his own accord, and was able to assist us by hooking up a generator for a few hours to give us relief.
We were very grateful to him.
Housekeeping was definitely needing improvement. There was a very large area rug in the master bedroom that needed to be removed as it was a tripping hazard and caused several falls. We were unable to move it as it was under all that heavy furniture.
There was mold in both the bathrooms and many of the dishes and silverware were dirty when we arrived for check-in.
All in all, it was an incredible stay, because we are flexible bunch that loved the location, beautiful surroundings, and the hikes nearby. The most important correction would be that there would be a contact locally for assistance in emergencies, such as the one we encountered.

Absolutely the most gorgeous setting and comfortable accommodations. Not a touristy area which we enjoyed.

We loved this house. The house sits right on the ocean and has an amazing view. It’s an easy 1 hour drive to Bar Harbour. It has 2 large bedrooms and a 3rd bedroom with 2 twins. It is immaculate and looks new. We could have stayed for another 1-2 weeks.

We loved our first trip to Maine! The views were breathtaking and the house provided everything we needed for our family of 5. We drove to Acadia twice during our trip and also found beautiful trails close by the property. We would love to go back!

Lil See is an idyllic cottage in a supremely beautiful part of Maine. The cottage is clean, well-designed, very comfortable and the kitchen is cute and easy to cook in. With two littles in tow having a washer and dryer was essential. The views from the cottage are amazing and the location is remote enough to be quiet but with lovely hikes and the conveniences of Blue Hill only a few minutes away. We would definitely stay here again!

We loved the little house in Brooklin. While it was far from many of the sites, we didn't mindusing it as our home base to travel to Acadia and Damariscotta, along with other places. The house was comfortable, had a well stocked kitchen, and was a good layout for our family of 4 with 2 teenage boys. There was a good bit of fog, which was disappointing, but the views were beautfiul when we could see them.

Perfect for our family of 5 - kids aged 11, 9, 6. The younger boys loved the crab squishmallows in the kids bedroom and my daughter loved having a room all to herself. There’s no access to the water for swimming but a nice little sitting area down along the water on the rocks. The house is next to two other homes but we barely knew they were there. There IS a washer and dryer for use despite the listing saying there isn’t (think they just need to update the description). There weren’t any games or puzzles as advertised which honestly wasn’t a big deal but I weirdly look forward to doing puzzles in rentals and seeing how many pieces are missing. We did leave behind an Acadia puzzle on purpose so hoping they leave it there for y’all! Amazing little screened in porch was probably our favorite part of the house, second only to the fridge magnets ❤️. Toiletries and kitchen essentials were provided which was nice since we didn’t travel with salt for those darn buttered noodles for the kids. Would definitely stay again, highly recommend!

We stayed in early June 2023 and the weather was very wet and foggy. Thankfully this home was warm, comfortable with great showers. We traveled to Acadia, Ellsworth and Bangor during our stay all an hour or less. I wish I could comment on the view but the fog was relentless during our stay but I am sure it must be great. The lobster Crate on Rt 175 is very close for a great home cooked lobster dinner. The other feature we really appreciated is you can bring your pet. Our dog may have enjoyed this vacation more than us lots of nature to investigate in every direction.
