As per folder in room, via # given when we tried to contact "24/7" maintenance, the number was "no longer in service". When we tried to contact Gary (property manager?) the number rang seven times and cut off. We went into the unit (after a struggle with the small print code in an email) at approximately 4:15 P.M. HAVING NO IDEA WHAT KIND OF PAINT THIS WAS (we took pictures) WE LEFT AT 5:30 P.M. At the time of leaving, I attempted to notify Hotels.com, Whitehall Cottages and Gary that we were leaving and that we wanted a refund. We Never stayed at Whitehall Cottages.

When I tried the self ck in I couldn't find a comunication to get me the room door code. I couldn't reach a live person via phone. I tried 3x yesterday and only got voice mail. Their voice mail said to text if need be. I did and never got a response on getting into the room. The other issue was the wi-fi password did not work. I texted them and never got a response. I was unable to do my work last night without it. I'd like a discount on the room charge.

Great place horrible experience. Not the properties fault. They banned the other renter

Nice clean simple motel

Absolutely beautiful property and the staff was amazing . They helped me immediately when I called their contact number in the binder. Thank you!

On the plus side, the room was clean and the bed was very comfortable.
A few minor points: (1) the bathroom door did not latch; (2) some way to hang a few clothes would be good.

a medical emergency caused us to have to cancel our visit. all communications with provider remain unanswered. i cannot address the facility only the ownership.

Appreciated the cost and quality for the cost. The location was convenient.

Parking was a challenge.

some basic needs not provided. like cups.

The parklot was not plow or salt while snowing. Shower had hair on wall. The bathroom floor was cracked and in the bedroom the walls had damaged on. The bed sheets were stained. It is overpriced.

We arrived at 8pm and the door to check in was locked. So I had to check my email to see if they send me anything about checking in after 3pm. They did. They sent me a code to my room and my room number. We had to log into Netflix with our own account and pray that when we left it logged us out. The parking lot was super small and then it rains it was flooded. The room was clean and nice. I just thought maybe it was going to mini cottages not like a small motel. My friend and I still had a great stay tho. Maybe they need to update their pictures to show more of what the customers are actually getting and say more about checking in after 3pm.

It looks like the outside hasn't been maintained in weeks. Parking lot and sidewalks have bit been swept or cleaned in ages. Inside the room, floors were dusty. Found a dead moth on floor. If there was a problem at night, how do you contact someone? I don't think the money spent staying there was worth it. I realize this is an older property but not large enough to be neglected like this.

The room was nice, but there was food in the fridge, snacks on the shelf, the chair at the desk was broke, our shower door was broke so it leaked onto the floor. The bathroom window wasn't locked right. And the Room smelled a bit musty. It didn't smell clean.

Very clean property and met my basic needs. I there were better lighting, especially in the bathroom and a full length mirror would have been nice. But, other then that, my stay was great. It was located in walking distance to a lot of restaurants. Staff responded quickly to my questions, even with being off-site.

My wife and I stayed here for 6 nights, to visit family. The manager responded quickly to requests. It is a 15 minute walk to the White River/White Lake. The room was clean. However, the bed was very soft, the room is VERY small, and everything showed signs of age - except the new vinyl floors. I would stay here again, but don't expect any frills.

Cute little place.

To call this is "boutique motel" is a bit of an overstatement, to say the least, but it worked for what we needed. It was easy to check in, the beds were comfortable, and there is a nice fridge with a freezer. The TV is great, too. There were spiders in the corners, and in the bathroom which suggests the cleaning crew isn't exactly paying attention to details. I also was never able to get hot water in the bathroom sink. If you're not too fancy, and you're looking for a place to rest your head while you hit the beach and explore the area, this place is fine. If you need towels folded like swans, and mints on your pillow, keep looking. We would probably stay here again.
One thing-I can't really speak to the courtesy etc of the staff. There is no front office or reception desk. The couple of questions we had prior to our stay were answered through Facebook within 12 hours. Also-there is no coffee maker, so if you need your morning cup of joe to function, bring your own !

Property picture showed cute themed rooms. While the picture was acurate, what you couldnt tell was how cheap the rooms were done. Paint was so thin on ceiling you could see the drywall through paint. Shower floor was black, but should have been white, no, i didnt take a shower. Cob webs with bugs in corners. Ceiling height was 6.5 ft. And had water stains. I really dont think my 6 ft. 6 inch son could have stood straight up in this room. We happened to be in Whitehall on a Monday, there was only 1 restaurant open, thank goodness it was good!

Pretty decent place. Worked out great for us. If you’re the super picky type, you might want to look elsewhere, but it was great for us.

The room was very small and stunk like mildew. No parking area for truck with trailer.
We didn't stay. We left and found another place to stay. Very disappointed!!!

My son worked at Camp Miniwanca while in college. He and his family come up there to camp in the area every year. He was familiar with WhiteHall so wee got a room there. The price is reasonable. It is walking distance to several places. I had never done virtual check-in so I was a little apprehensive about how all this was going to work. I was given 2 different times when I should be getting emails regarding check in. And when information wasn't showing up at the earlier time, I was really getting anxious. I feel the issue was with where I booked the room through, not Whitehall Cottage, because my email from them showed up when it was supposed to. A previous review mentioned the uneven floor. Yes, it is uneven. There is a loose/wobbly tile by the shower also. The bed was very comfortable. Liked the comforter and drapes. It could use a little work yet, but overall not bad. I was there to sleep and shower, not to entertain people.

Room could have been a little cleaner, not terrible. Good location if you enjoy being able to walk to local dining and shopping

Slow responses. Non-smoking but smelled strongly of weed.

No tv and no ac. Very warm in the room even using the fan

Absolutely DISGUSTING!!!!!!
Upon arrival to this horrible property my daughter and I took one look at the outside and both said it’s just for one night. Once we opened the door to the room an overwhelming stench hit us in the face like welcome to your small mildew smelling room. I tried opening the windows which 2 of them didn’t work so we opened the door to the room. After an hour the smell kept getting worse that I actually sprayed body spray in hopes it would freshen the room but as you could guess no luck. My daughter pulled back the comforter to her bed and there was a huge brown stain on the very blanket my 7 year old was about to use. I checked my bed linens and the previous guest forgot to take her makeup off and I know exactly what color her mascara and eyeshadow was. We tried to get a refund since we deemed the room unsanitary and actually left and went to a different hotel. When I asked for a refund to a place we sat outside of most of the time the property manager said NO and here is the reason given….. we left the flatscreen tv which is on a swivel bar in a swiveled position and not flat against the wall. Excuse me?????? You left us a stinky room with soiled bed linens and mold growing on the window screen and you can’t refund me. You should have paid me for wasting body spray on your dump. I hope you get closed down for unsanitary and inhabitable conditions. I would not let my dog stay there!

It was so bad we left. Walls were filthy. Ceiling tiles are the little squares and were not all even & up in the ceiling. Shower was disgusting. Rust & mildew along the caulking. No soap or shampoo/conditioner. Hutch that tv was in was dusty. There maybe 15 minutes and packed back up and left.
3.2
Pros: Room was clean, mattress was comfortable, the hotel was within walking/biking distance from everything in the area. Cons: The bed frame is very sharp, I accidentally brushed against it and it left a big gash in my leg. No coffee maker in the room. The bathroom had very small amount of soap in the dispenser and 1/2 roll of toilet paper - no refills. The bare minimum was provided for towels. Walls are very thin, Some of the people staying near us were up throughout the night and disruptive.
3.2
Couldn't even get in the room. Code for the door didn't work. Tried to call no answer, left messages and did not get any response. Tried messaging...still no response. Would not recommend.
