My sister and her family came down from Cleveland Ohio to Norris Lake for a vacation with my husband and I. (We live here by the way and didn't 'have' to rent a home). Pictures listed are nice, yes. Such a lure to get renters.
When I arrived at the home I was so upset because (1) the neighborhood is so undesirable (2) I pulled up and nothing looked welcoming...at all. Like no one put any effort into welcoming a family who spent MONEY to stay there.
The outside fire pit area was in disarray, the chairs were all fallen over, there was stuff in the fire pit, the porch had everything covered and nothing outside was clean. THEN I walked down to the boat dock. I'm an in-shape person and walking down the treacherous gravel to the lake was a challenge even for me. Thank gosh I didn't have on flip-flops. I'd have never made it. I can't believe the homeowner doesn't do something about that hateful gravel walk down. (Not to mention the walk "UP" from the boat dock...which sucked).
As it turned out, my husband and nephews would go down to the boat every morning and take it over to Twin Cove to meet me and my sister's family because of that ridiculous gravel hike down to the lake.
The bedding looked unfresh and old. No thought is put into making a family who again, spent money to stay there, welcomed. My husband and I didn't even stay there, we drove 25 minutes home every night.
I wanted my family to feel special and on top of the world, and this trip was not that at all.

House is in a great location on and off the water. Easy to get to from 75. Great spot on Norris Lake. Fairly quiet finger off the lake. Close to a marina. House is clean. Plenty of room for the 9 of us. Great parking. Nice fire pit and deck that you can kind of see the lake from. Walk DOWN to the lake is almost unmanageable. More than one VERY steep slope covered in gravel that slides along with you. Lots of steps once you get to the bottom of the slopes. Great dock that we were able to put a 10x10 pop up canopy on for some shade. Had a great time once we made it to the dock!

Plenty of room and beautiful view! Great location with stores nearby and there were plenty of toys/games to keep the kids entertained. We walked down to the water one time only because we are out of shape and it was very difficult and steep (especially for my mom). Only issue in the house were the steep steps to the lower level which my step father (who is over 80) couldn’t use safely. As long as you all are able to go up and down the stairs, this is a great place to stay. We enjoyed a Thanksgiving meal together and celebrated an early Christmas since we don’t live near each other and had plenty of room. Fire pits were a hit and many s’mores were made. Had a great time!
