Loved having cookie tea
Loved having homemade cookies again the next day
Excellent care by the staff.
Appreciated talking with the new owner
Our Bathroom was not good - under repair - did not use bathtub of shower!
Someone tried to dust but did a poor job - needed dusting badly.
As it was downstairs, we had no coffee easily assessable - good Nespresso upstairs!
The reservation was made in my name - Roberta

A small boutique property with rustic charm, comfy beds and a home cooked breakfast that was 5 star! The personal service by the owner was exemplary.

The Latch Inn is beautifully restored, tucked into an Ocean cove, with the back patio overlooking the Marina.
Breakfast was delicious & plentiful. Our room was lovely.
David is a fabulous host and makes you feel welcome from the moment you meet.
We will return with others, to experience this wonderful Inn.
Nothing.

The property is in a beautiful, quiet neighbourhood but still close to restaurants and shops. David and Michael are excellent hosts.

Great place to stay. Run professionally, but still offers a personal & comfortable touch in a beautiful property.

David, the host, was phenomenal, even packing a to-go breakfast as I had to leave each day before the buffet opened.

The perfect spot for an overnight in Sidney, beautiful scenic location , excellent service and communication, delicious home cooked breakfast, coffee and tea in the sitting room before breakfast.

We loved our stay at The Latch, the story, the architecture and history of this home is incredible. David was a super host, very welcoming, knowledgeable about the history of this wonderful heritage home. Amazing what they have accomplished to restore this home. The breakfast was outstanding. Please treat yourselves to a stay at The Latch. We will be back!

Very pretty and elaborately decorated interior, nice grounds. Feels secluded in the trees, but is an easy 30-min walk to centre of Sidney. Room was cozy. Fancy breakfast was included. Staff are pleasant.
The TV in the room can play music from a streaming service, set to soft jazz when we arrived. I was pleased to find a station called Jammin', and enjoyed an extensive playlist of reggae & ska the rest of our stay.
There is a small dog park very close by.
Cost an extra $25/night to have my dog, but there are still a lot of restrictions: pet can't be left in the room, but also is not permitted in the dining room or the lounge (which was deserted most of the time). We had breakfast on the patio, which could be chilly (even in August). I asked for a blanket for my dog and they would only give him a towel (I was bicycle touring so couldn't carry every last thing).
Noise was an issue, despite the secluded location. The patio and my room (Lady Byng) face a large marina. On weekdays it was very noisy with drydock work and what sounded like power washing or leafblowers.
Despite the appearance of solid wood walls, they are actually very thin. Quiet time starts at 9 pm. I could hear normal conversations, someone clearing his throat, and the TV in the adjoining suites, sometimes after 11:30 pm.
Toilet handle needs to be replaced, or someone has to fiddle with it to flush and keep it from running. Staff adjusted it the first time, I did it myself a couple times after that.

After exploring Butchart Gardens nearby, my wife and I stayed in the Library Suite at the Latch Inn. It is a lovely BNB on the harbor. The bed was very good and the breakfast excellent. Wish we would have stayed a few days. Michael is a terrific host!
Old standing tub had a broken drain control. Old sink constantly dripped water. There was onlly one restaurant to walk to called Sea Glass, which was excellent. Other restaurants are a 5-10 minute drive away in Sidney.

Loved the old style charm of the building.

Not your ordinary hotel stay with breakfast included...this place was much better. The choices of breakfasts were great, the people running it were amazing and location was beautiful.

beautiful setting away from the hustle and bustle but not too far away to enjoy downtown…rooms were spacious and comfortable and our hosts made us feel welcome
