My second time staying and I loved it again - lovely rooms, very clean and modern, great choice of food and it's a good quality. I love seeing the dogs people bring in as its a dog friendly hotel and bar. Will definitely stay again!

Fabulous hotel in the best location. Definitely splash out for a sea view room.
The room was an ok size with a modern bathroom. Bed was really comfy and warm. The staff were very friendly and the pub downstairs was really cosy, serving a range of food.
Only negatives were that the breakfast buffet was a little cold and the toilet brush stunk! But this will not put us off staying again!

The hotel was in a great location. I was at an event in Cullercoats so just a 10-15 minute walk to there from the hotel. Bed really comfy and a nice refreshing shower / breakfast in the morning.

Beautiful hotel, clean, great food, lovely staff. Couldn’t fault it

Lovely hotel on the sea front - friendly staff - clean room - tea and coffee was done Ringtons which is so much better than the horrible Nescafé stuff normally on offer. We chose the breakfast which was very generous English - cereal, toast pancakes etc would recommend.

Great Hotel, wonderful friendly staff. Easy walk into Town and close to Whitley Bay for a visit to Valeries for coffee and cake. Love this Hotel 10 /10

A very impressive and imposing hotel that's clearly benefited from a multi-million pound revamp in the last year. I was offered a voucher each day for a free pint in return for foregoing daily housekeeping services and I thought this was a nice perk. Breakfasts are of the self-service variety and generally everything was in good supply, although all the croissants had gone occasionally. All in all an excellent base for a stay in Tynemouth, a gem of the North East.

Went with my wife and Grandson. Everything was fantastic. The building was clean and modern. The breakfast section was good. The chip shop attached to the hotel was excellent. We would definitely stay here again.

Superb - far better than expectations. Will stay again. Lovely sea view room

Beautiful hotel, highly recommended. Very comfortable and the bar area serves lovely food. On stays of 2 nights or more you can get a free drink too if you decline housekeeping as part of their eco initiatives. Nice touch!

Lovely, clean and quiet hotel with kind and friendly staff. The room was quite warm but a fan had been provided. Tiny niggle, I'm not a small person and I had to literally squeeze through the shower door, but it was great when I was in there.

Great night away at the Tynemouth Castle Inn. Very nice comfortable and well designed room, excellent bathroom with superb shower. The Hotel is ideally suited for both Tynemouth and Cullercoats, with Whitley Bay a 40 minute walk away.

Lovely old school art deco hotel from the glory days of English sea-side holidays.
Clearly recently refurbished. Done really well. Clean, tidy throughout - room very comfortable, great mattress.
We were up from Herts for mate's 60th - he said hotel had gone downhill big time (same story all over the country though, aint it?) New owners have made big investment though and its paying off.
Could have done with air-con but having said that it was exceptionally warm weather (not moaning- would take sunshine over cloud/rain all day long.)
Good size bar area, great outdoor seating and very good bar and restaurant menus. Well frequented by passing trade and residents, but no problem getting served. Didnt do the Sunday carvery but it looked brilliant - like when they first came out in the 80's.
All the staff - including housekeeping lads and lasses- were cheerful, helpful and professional. Not always the case these days.
Would defo stay again

It is the first time we have stayed in the Tynemouth Castle and it will not be the last. Very friendly and helpful staff, beautiful 'deco' building, great rooms and a stunning location.

Hotel is superb, very comfortable and clean. Great shower and facilities in room. I usually get a room with a sea view but these were all reserved and booked. The staff at the Hotel are exceptionally friendly and polite and the menu in the restaurant is excellent along with the portions. I had a room close to the bridge and could hear the trains from 5.45am and the last one was around midnight but I was so tired that they didnt bother me.

The shower was brilliant!!
The breakfast included is very good, not like the breakfast is very poor in Seaburn Inn Sunderland.

Hotel renovations really good. Room very clean, spacious and comfortable. Breakfast very good.

Great location by the beach. Theres a bar and restaurant downstairs. You can't hear the noise from my room. The only noise that kept me up was from the train (right next to my window). Bring earplugs if you're a light sleeper. Breakfast was excellent. The bed was confortable. Pillows were too hard and tall for my preference.

Fantastic stay, lovely room overlooking longsands beach, good choice of breakfast in the morning, room was spotless, great shower, comfortable bed, good TV to watch the Olympics, on site icecream parlour, chip shop as well as the restaurant where we ate a couple of nights, good choice of drinks at the bar, thank you to all the staff who made our week so enjoyable, great Geordie hospitality

When we first arrived we couldn't find anybody to talk to or how to check in. We asked a member of the bar staff who told us check in was around the corner. There was no one. So asked another member of the bar staff who told us again to go round the corner. Eventually we realised its a self check in on a computer screen. Half way through the the check-in, a member of staff (think he must be the duty manager or similar) who asked us whether we were okay and he helped us to complete the check in. We must say the two members of the bar staff were not helpful at all and the way they spoke to us made us feel we were stupid.
We have visited so many hotels in our lives and this is the first time we did a self checked in. Maybe this is the sign if the time.
The hotel is very nice but unfortunately our room backed on to the rail track and even with the window shut we could hear the trains everytime they passed. Breakfast was good. Evening meals were good, however we found out the prices of some of the items were different, comparing to another 'INN' in the same group, a few miles down the road. This is a chain and I would expect the menu and prices to be the same.
Overall we enjoyed our stay.

Great location at this recently refurbished hotel. Great shower always my way of assessing a hotel. Staff were helpful, pleasant and professional. Location very good for public transport we travel from home to the hotel by rail and bus with no problems. Very dog friendly including their own menu.
