About this cottage rental
The Dutch Getaway
This unique Dutch-style home was built in 1937 with all its original historical charm and just a touch of modern bohemian coastal updates so you can enjoy a pleasant, yet cozy stay in this historical Pensacola home along our beautiful mainland coastline. This location has so much to offer our guests. The Navy Point nature trail just around the corner with a paved 2.5-mile walking and biking trail along Bayou Grande as well as a boat launch. About a block away is Civitan Park with playgrounds, a walking path, and a kayak launch for a short water adventure to White Island. Just down the street is NAS, the home of the Blue Angels, the Naval Aviation Museum, and Pensacola lighthouse which is a must-visit. You can watch the Blue Angel practice shows from the front yard, down at Gibbs Point Beach or anywhere along the Bayou Grande Nature trail. Just 10 minutes east is Downtown Pensacola with restaurants, bars, Maritime Park, Wahoos stadium, seasonal festivals and festivities.Looking to visit the beach? Pensacola Beach or Perdido Key Beach, they are both a short 20-minute trip along our coastline. Pets welcome! (Pet Fee Applicable)

Beautifully decorated, gracious hosts, affordable, cute couples cottage. Aside from more bugs then I am comfortable with (understandably typical in Florida but exasperated on this trip by the surrounding construction). We would recommend this cottage if you are needing lodging close to NAS Pensacola.

We really enjoyed our stay at this little house. It had everything we needed. The kitchen was well stocked the wi-fi speed was great, and the bed was super comfy. Highly recommended!

Staying at the Dutch Getaway was cozy and restful/relaxing. Cleanliness a plus. The smell of freshness when you enter in is welcoming. Your necessities provided. My husband and I stayed five nights and felt comfortable. Short drive to the NAS and beach. My husband enjoyed sitting outside. He seen an albino squirrel on the privacy fence and that was his bonus (I seen it too,😊)its true. We had easy communication with the host. Easy access/check in. Would definitely stay again.

It was an awesome first time experience using Vrbo, because The Dutch Getaway was beautiful. Photos are accurate, everything is spotless, and Katherine and Russell were wonderful to communicate with! Everything was smooth and easy. 5/5 for everything other than the neighborhood/location, but that's not something that could necessarily be helped. We still had a wonderful time!

Such a nice place! For your money, you really couldnt ask for better accommodations. Very clean and homey--only about 15 min. from the beaches. We loved our stay.

This is absolutely perfect for one or two people. Its a very cute little house. I guess it used to be a mother in law suite. The shower space is a bit tight. But overall I have no complaints. It is right on a main road. The noise isn't too bad though. It's also within a reasonable distance to everything. I'll definitely stay here again.

My daughter and I visited for a short 3-night stay for her 16th birthday. We walked into the most thoughtful display of '16' balloons and sweet treats from local businesses to enhance our celebrations! Pictures and listing are 100% accurate but the cottage is even more charming in person. Decor and design give an instant sensation of relaxation. If my daughter didn't want to spend our days at the beach, I would have been content with a book in the chairs out front or lounging on the couch! The cottage was clean and smelled like a day spa, adding to the overall zen aura.
Katherine was so kind and thoughtful to leave such a surprise for our arrival! Check in was quick, seamless, and we were provided with 2 keys for the cottage. Communication was easy with very quick responses.
The location was perfect for us. It was a little gem tucked in to a rather quiet neighborhood. While the neighborhood is quite empty in local business buildings and many homes overgrown in shrubbery, it was not unsafe and this location is one of the exceptions in the area. While we were there a short time, I never heard sirens in the vicinity. Close to the NAS, Perdido Key, Pensacola Beach, Downtown Pensacola and about 45 minutes from Navarre. We never had a lack of activities!
If I could transport this adorable home to every vacation spot in my future, I would!

The property is centrally located for going to either Perdido Key, Pensacola Beach, the Naval museum, shopping and much more. I would recommend this property if you’re looking for a relaxing stay in the Pensacola area.

Clean, comfortable and met our needs very well for our visit to family on Perdido Key. Kitchen has all the tools needed for making meals, washer and dryer was really helpful. Best part for us was pet friendliness.

We stayed at the Dutch Getaway during the months of January and February, 2024 to escape Wisconsin's winter for two months. The bungalow is approximately 550 sq ft in size. We found it to be clean, cozy, comfortable, appropriately and well-equipped and located conveniently near everything necessary from groceries to entertainment, shopping and haircuts, drug stores, fast food choices and fine dining.
Catherine and Russell (The hosts) were delightful and very responsive.
Pleasant experience. Many thanks to our hosts for doing such a great job!

Nice place with special touches. Loved the Christmas decorations, accents, mini tree and lights on the cottage! We liked the stocked kitchen with spices, coffee and welcome bottle of wine, that we enjoyed after a long day travel! Wash/dryer and they had laundry pods to use, thank you!!

The only complaint I have is the sheets are not soft at all and there wasn't creamer for coffee, change that and you get 5 stars. Otherwise, very clean and comfortable with everything you need. For the owner in the living room the AC's fan is stuck so it can't rotate and makes a noise. Should be easy to fix. I recommend staying there. Very obvious they take care of the location, and when I return to Pensacola I will look to see if this place is available.

We had a wonderful stay at the Dutch Gateway.
The house is newly renovated, and the interior design is warm and welcoming. Really enjoyed the Pensacola theme.
Russell and Katherine were very gracious hosts and went above to accommodate our request.
We were looking for a rental near NAS and this was in an ideal location for us.
The house was close to a couple of nice biking paths and not too far away from downtown.
We truly enjoyed our time at the Dutch Gateway.
