About this house rental
Just renovated! This pristine, 2-bedroom, private home is nestled in Locke Lake Colony, a private association that surrounds picturesque Locke Lake in Center Barnstead NH. We just added a new deck, new grill, new 50" Smart TV with built-in Roku, new A/C, 2 new Kayaks, and a newly finished basement.
The home sits across the street from the lake with nearby beach access. In Spring, Summer, and early Fall, we provide you with two kayaks, and a badmitton set. Other activities provided within the Colony include pickleball, tennis, bocce ball, cornhole, a playground, a 5-hole golf course, and 5 beaches. Bring your fishing rods!
In Winter, snowmobile trails are closeby. Ice fishing is allowed on the lake. Gunstock Ski Resort is just a 23 minute ride north.
In Spring, Summer and Fall, Bank of NH Pavillion is an open-air live music venue just 17 miles to the north. Alton Bay on Lake Winnipesauke is just 8 miles away with mini golf, boat rentals, and more. And Wolfeboro with its ample shops and dining is a short ride.
Explore the region with activities for every season, and come home to your large deck and fire pit, play some board games, or enjoy a game of ping pong in the game room on the lower level, or just kick back and relax.
Ample parking.
For sleep accommodations:
Two bedrooms with queen size beds
One twin-size day bed in living room
One Trundle Bed under the day bed - can be wheeled into the master bdrm if needed. (Note: children under the age of 5 are not recommended due to safety concerns of the open staircase in main living area.)
Sectional Sofa, too.

The home was exactly as pictured. Very clean and very comfortable with a well-equipped kitchen, clean linens, comfortable beds, a terrific deck, streaming TV, board games, and even a fun ping pong table in the clean basement.
We enjoyed Labor Day weekend using the kayaks in the lovely lake, walking around the neighborhood, heading to nearby restaurants and beaches, and enjoying the firepit under the stars.
Communication with the host was perfect and they are nearby should anything come up. I hope to enjoy the home again sometime.

My wife, our dog, and I went for a nice weekend retreat for my 30th Birthday! It was such a nice quiet area with beautiful scenery everywhere you turn. The fire pit was great for night time, and the lake was beautiful. Virginia was great at communicating! We definitely plan to stay here again in the future!

This property had every single amenity that one could possibly need for a rental. The best were incredibly comfortable and I’m extraordinarily picky (and a plus size person!). The water pressure in the shower was fantastic. Literally there was nothing I could think of that wasn’t available. Thank you so much, will absolutely stay again.

The lodging was spacious, comfortable, exceptionally clean and the perfect location for us to visit our family that was camping at Turtle Kraal. I especially appreciated the in-house laundry appliances and the full size refrigerator!!

We had an amazing birthday getaway with our family and pup at Virginia’s beautiful home. The house is very clean and equipped with all the essentials and more - shampoo, conditioner, laundry detergent, blankets, cleaning supplies, plenty of dishware, etc. The beds were comfy with lots of pillow options. We particularly enjoyed relaxing on the deck with a glass of wine after a day of kayaking and hiking.
Check-in was extremely easy and Virginia answered any questions we had very efficiently. Truly a 10/10 experience and a vacation we won't soon forget.

A friend and I booked this house fairly last minute for a Memorial Day trip with our kids - we’re so glad we did! The house is super clean, comfortable and well-stocked with everything from beach towels to cleaning supplies to kitchen spices, making everything so easy. We were so “busy” hanging on the deck, playing ping pong and enjoying the lake we didn’t have time to use the kayaks but it was so great that they were available. Our four kids (ages 9-14) had a blast playing on the beach, and all slept comfortably on the day bed, trundle and couch. The beds in the bedrooms are super comfortable. The yard is private, surrounded by trees, but it’s an easy walk to the beach and the boat launch.
The hosts are absolutely wonderful and flexible - super easy to communicate with. Just a great stay overall!

The home is lovely. It was fully stocked with necessities. The beds were comfortable. Everything worked properly. The communication with the owner was great. We were not there long enough to explore the area, but the neighborhood is very pretty and was peaceful, at least in November.

Had an ***AMAZING*** long weekend at Virginia's home in Barnstead! It was beautiful, tranquil and immaculate!!! The house had all that you needed! All you have to bring is your food and your clothes! Virginia hits the mark with all the small details from tissues to soap to shampoo, she's amazing! Her communication is superior! Anything that I communicated a question about she had an answer for! The community on the lake is beautiful make sure you take a walk and enjoy it! Virginia, as a host goes above and beyond to make your stay comfortable, enjoyable and as worry free as possible! My son recently got married and I can't wait to come back and rent again with Virginia! I hope she'll have us back again! I highly recommend Virginia as a host and her beautiful home in Barnstead! With Many Thanks from NY, Bea, Paul and our pup Molly!

This place was very nice, only one minor issue. I would say if you have any mobility issues the steps to get to the living room are very steep. There is a back entrance that is fine but those front steps could be a problem. Otherwise...five stars.

This home is just as presented. Very clean and neat. We especially enjoyed traveling around the lake with the kayaks. The put in for the kayaks is just a few doors down and across the street, very easy and convenient. The only reason I gave the check in process a 4 star is because I had to call the owner for the door code. I was able to reach her and get the code so it didn't delay our stay. She was very nice to deal with.
