About this house rental
Note a 5 night minimum stay is required and 4WD/AWD is required December thru mid March.
The home is currently for sale and showings may be scheduled during your stay. There are only occasional showings, but not very many given the listing price of the home. If you do not want to allow showings, then please do not book this property. We will apply a 10% discount if we need to show the home during your stay.
Our 6,400 square foot residence (Grandview Ridge) features 5 bedrooms and 6 bathrooms and is located 13 miles (20 minutes) from downtown Durango and 17 miles from Purgatory. This home is in one of the nicest residential settings in the Durango area. It is situated on 7 acres offering privacy and seclusion - yet just 20 minutes from downtown Durango . Enjoy an alpine setting with room to roam and exceptional views, while being close to all of the incredible amenities and recreational experiences that Durango has to offer.
Our home features an amazing outdoor living space including a wrap around deck to enjoy the unmatched views and a gas fire pit, outdoor dining table and a gas grill. The generously equipped gourmet kitchen features duel ovens and stainless steel appliances. The house also has access to Coon Creek on the property (less then a 10 minute walk or you can drive) which has fishing in late spring thru fall (no license required).
The house sleeps 15 and is perfect for multiple families as it features two living spaces and of course tons of space and each bedroom has an attached bathroom and 3 of the bedrooms have TVs (Direct TV). The home also features 2 sets of washer/dryers, central AC, a commercial ice maker and wine fridge. All bedrooms except the bunk room have access to a private deck. Super fast Starlink WIFI was installed in January 2024.

This home is pet friendly! We allow a maximum of 2 dogs max and the pet fee is $40/day (for a max $250 per stay).
Cancellation Policy: A non-refundable payment of $300 is required at the time of booking. This $300 payment is applied toward the total amount due and is only refundable within 72 hours of the time of the booking is made. If your arrival date is within 30 days of booking, payment in full is required at the time of booking. Cancellations or changes that result in a shortened stay, that are made within thirty (30) days of the arrival date, forfeit the entire reservation amount while cancellations made more than thirty (30) days in advance of your arrival only forfeit the $300 payment made at the time of booking. For reservations that are at least thirty (30) nights, the cancellation policy above increases to sixty (60) days prior to the arrival date. We do offer travel insurance.
Stay with us and we offer DISCOUNTS on both summer (white water rafting, horseback riding etc.) and winter (ski/snowboard rentals, sleigh rides, snowmobile tours etc.) activities.
Please note that, like most properties in the area, this home does not have AC, as it is uncommon for homes at this elevation. Temperatures inside the property are easily managed by using fans and opening the windows at night when temperatures drop into the 40s.

We loved our stay and this house was in the perfect location to mountain activities and traveling to downtown. The house was very clean, easily fit our entire family, and the property manager was very responsive. The pictures don’t do this property justice and we will be back.

We really enjoyed our stay. The home had a beautiful view and great accommodations especially for a large family reunion. The management company was very responsive when we had questions or requests. We would definitively stay here again!

The pictures didn't due justice to the home. The kitchen was extremely well stoked with pots,pans,bowls and cooking utensils. Home was clean and bathrooms were spotless. Every bedroom had it's own bathroom and the 4 main bedrooms all had a deck of the valley and the mountains. We were 4 couples but the house had beds to support 17. There was so much space that every couple had privacy.

This fabulous "home" was shared with our family consisting of 3 generations and 1 dog. It was beyond amazing and exceeded our highest expectations. Everything was perfect. We were confident we could get immediate assistance but never needed to ask. It snowed 18" (yeah!) and all driveways and sidewalks were cleared straight away. It was stocked just like your home would be and the furnishings and decoration were beyond anything we have ever experienced. Finally, I must mention that the home was perfectly suited for a dog with a wrought iron fence around the back. Thank you so much for the opportunity to have a wonderful family vacation in your beautiful home.

Our family of 16 have stayed at many rentals over the last 10 years and this one falls in the top 3. Floor plan is perfect for 4 couple who all want their provate room and batheroom. It's like having 4 primary suites under one roof. Bunk room was great for our teens and the little kids bunked with their parent's. Common areas very spacious for eating, games, football watching, fires and hanging out after a full day of skiing.

The views and the porches were fantastic. Loved the table outside and the den and kitchen were great. floorpan was a little funky but good for our large group because of our size. The house is a little tired in spots and needs some attention. The dryer in the laundry room on main level did not work and one of the sinks in the master bathroom was leaking and we could not use. Parts of the house were not as clean as expected.

We so enjoyed the beautiful location and surrounding places to hike beautiful trails. The train ride to Silverton was so scenic! The house was well supplied with everything our family needed for a fantastic Colorado experience!

Large spacious well appointed house. The location was very private and convenient enough (20 minutes to Durango downtown, 35 minutes to Airport), and close enough to 550. The views were great. The rooms were large and our party of 14 could spread out easily. Beds, linens, utensils were of good quality. Cleaning was exceptional. Owner Brad was very helpful and came by to acquaint us with the house and the area. He later came by to bring an air bed that we needed for a part of our stay. Overall, good service by the Property management company and the owner.Two opportunities for improvement:1. The two ACs are underpowered for the size of the house. In July (mid to high 80s), the upstair rooms were very hot during the day and not enough comfortable during the night. A few fans were there. But definitely needed more fans, at a minimum. 2. Depending on your preference, the Master suite could use more privacy for the shower/bath area. No doors or much of a screen/wall.Overall, you can't go wrong with this house.

An amazing family Christmas vacation is what this house and owner Brad gave my family. With breathtaking views and plenty of space for my 3 grown children, spouses, and 4 grandchildren, we made memories of a lifetime. The pictures do not do the place justice. The kitchen was well stocked with good cookware, dishes, silverware and provided everything we needed to cook some terrific meals. The large yard offered lots of space to play in the fantastic snow we received the second day. My Texas grandkids loved building the 6ft snowman. The spacious layout of the house offered plenty of room for everyone to have their own private space and bathroom while also providing several large areas to gather as a family to eat, play games, and make S’mores. Although the snow and ice provided a little challenge getting out of the driveway one day, the owner himself plowed the snow and helped us Texans get out to the road. We loved that it was not directly in town, but was close enough to enjoy all that Durango has to offer. You will not regret renting this house. We will be back!
