We have stayed at many 5-star hotels but they all pale in comparison to Violino D’Oro. From check-in to check-out, all of our expectations were exceeded.
The staff and owner were always there to help in any way they could. We have never been so well cared for. When we were checking out of the hotel, they even carried our bags off the property to our water taxi. That is how far they went to fully take care of us.
The hotel is next level! I mean who wouldn't want to stay at a brand new 5-star hotel? Every area we were in at the hotel from our room to the breakfast restaurant were also next level. You can tell that they care about all the tiny details.
There are many more things I could write, but I am not sure how many people would even read this far. But in summary, Violino D’Oro sets the bar incredibly high for what a 5-star hotel should be. Many hotels "claim" to be 5-star, but none have been even close to our stay at Violino D’Oro.

We loved their thoughtfulness and excellent service. We arrived early and they provided early check out.
Wonderful suggestions for restaurants that are high traffic tourist spots. Provided a delicious breakfast! Very clean and just all around a wonderful experience.

A gem! Great location, walkable to almost everything. The owner and staff take a personal interest and truly want their guests to have the best possible experience. Was very sorry to leave, want to return if I ever make it back to Venice, and highly recommend. Expensive, but you do get what you pay for and it’s worth every euro.

Old, no air conditioning (only heat when it’s advertised as A/C), bad bed, small selection of breakfast.

I loved the position of this hotel. Room had private facilities and the staff were amazing as nothing was too much trouble

The hotel is very nice, it is easy to find at a small intersection with Gondola service just in front of the hotel. It is clean and quiet yet very classy. The breakfast is standard.

This is an inexpensive hotel in a SUPERB location. Though by no means this is a luxury property, we got our expectations fully met. Hotel staff was 5-star quality: helpful, friendly, accurate. We were leaving at 5 am, and the concierge made us espresso before the restaurant opened. What a nice touch!
The included breakfast was excellent as well, with delicious assortment and a view of passing gondolas right out the window.
The room is very modest. However, it had a completely renovated bathroom with great shower pressure, and all the amenities. All the facilities were very clean.
I would recommend this hotel to all the travelers who need a comfortable “base camp”, and are not willing to pay for the frills, they are unlikely to use because there is so much to see in Venice outside the hotel.

Good stay, perfect location, excellent breakfast.

Excellent location close to San Marco and within close proximity to known landmarks. Great value and would certainly recommend. Breakfast was fine and unexpected addition to what was already a low cost booking.

The staff was very kind, check in and check out was extremely easy and fast. The hotel itself was in a really good area very easy to get to the main attraction sites, within a 10 minute radius of the hotel there was literally tons of restaurants and stores. When I complained about my first room being too small they upgraded me to a larger room which I loved with no extra cost. Now the breakfast on the other hand was OK I would say they should give us more options. Overall I loved it and would definitely come back.

A little jewel, centrally placed for maximum convenience. A refreshingly individual hotel, with friendly, competent and multilingual staff. Good breakfast.

Great location. Front desk staff very good, spoke very good English. Breakfast average for Europe. No coffee available in room. Tiny bathroom.

They canceled my reservation without notice for some bogus reason then lied about all the details.

This was the first/only night in Venice since we were boarding a cruise ship the next day. There are definite pros & cons to this cute little hotel!
Pros: great location! only about a 5-7 min walk from the Alilaguna (water shuttle from the airport). So close to San Marcos Square, only steps to a gondola ride (cuz y’all know that’s a MUST while in Venice) and there were LOTS of food & dessert choices close by. The staff was fantastic, so friendly and helpful! The hotel and room itself was clean. We were leaving early the next morning For our cruise (by 7 am) and the gentleman at the front desk let us eat breakfast early (based on the limited items available) and it was very good! I kinda wish we’d been able to see the full spread.
Cons: the bed was EXTREMELY firm and to me, it was terrible (but after being awake for 36 hours, it didn’t matter, my husband and I passed out HARD). Also, we were in room 112 (location in the hotel itself wasn’t terribly important to us), but I didn’t think the bathroom door would hit the bed and not open all the way...that was cramped. Shower very small, but again, only one night and headed to a cruise ship, so small hotel shower was prepping me for a small cruise ship shower lol!
Overall, I’d book this again if it’s only for a night or two.

This Hotel is hands down THE PLACE to stay if you are looking to stay in this area of Venice. The staff, room, complimentary breakfast, etc. were beyond expectation. We will be back and both agree it was money worth spent.

Location was a 3-minute walk from St. Mark's Square. The hotel and rooms were very clean. It was quiet despite being near a scenic gondola dock. The staff was very helpful, and the breakfast provided many tasty choices. I would definitely stay again.

The front Desk personnel was excellent! The recommendations for sites to see and restaurants to visit were spot on! While the room was not the cleanest (Carpets went 3 inches up the wall and the corners were dusty), the room was fine. Any bed is comfortable after walking 10 miles like we did!r Great location with easy access to all Venice has to offer!

Awesome hotel, close to San Marco square, and the BEST hotel breakfast I have ever had. Thanks to the nice lady at the front desk who helped me by calling the water taxi for me. Will stay there again!
