About this villa rental
Perched majestically in an elevated position and cocooned within expansive, meticulously manicured grounds, this epitome of a "Minhota" granite stone dwelling stands as the magnum opus of a painstaking renovation project, its final brushstroke masterfully applied in May 2010. A veritable haven, it harmoniously melds panoramic vistas and untouched natural landscapes with an opulent embrace of modern amenities, all while serving as the perfect vantage point for exploring the idyllic countryside and the historic Roman jewel, Ponte de Lima.
Nestled within the lower level of this charming property lies a tranquil haven, a double bedroom exuding an air of serenity. It boasts an ensuite shower room, providing a private sanctuary for relaxation and rejuvenation.
As you ascend to the upper floor, you'll discover a culinary paradise that awaits your culinary adventures. This fully equipped open-plan kitchen is a modern marvel, featuring a suite of conveniences such as a dishwasher, microwave, fridge/freezer, stove, oven, coffee machine, toaster, and kettle. It beckons with the promise of delectable creations. Adjacent to the kitchen, a capacious living and dining expanse unfolds, with ample space to host up to ten guests. Plush sofas invite you to sink into comfort while the room is adorned with satellite TV, a DVD player, and a snug closed fireplace, offering warmth and ambience. For convenience, a discreet guest toilet is tucked away nearby. At the heart of this upper level, a set of inviting swinging doors lead to the pool terrace, an outdoor haven perfectly suited for enchanting alfresco dining experiences. This picturesque tableau is your stage for creating lasting memories.
Further exploration reveals two bedrooms on this floor, each adorned with twin beds and complemented by its own ensuite shower room. These private sanctuaries offer a cosy and intimate retreat for guests.
Venture beyond the main house, and you'll come across a charming cottage. Inside, you'll find a picturesque double bedroom crowned with its own ensuite shower room. A petite kitchenette, thoughtfully designed, provides the means to craft light culinary creations should the inspiration strike.
Now, step outside into the enchanting exterior of the property. An awe-inspiring sun-soaked terrace stretches out before you, conjuring spellbinding views that captivate the senses. An outdoor table, bathed in natural light, sets the stage for enchanting open-air repasts, where every meal becomes an event. The verdant garden sprawls generously, adorned with a manicured lawn and a tapestry of fruit-bearing trees, creating an inviting atmosphere of tranquillity and natural beauty. Nearby, a dedicated barbecue haven awaits, ready to host your gastronomic creations and gatherings.
Parking facilities are ample, ensuring convenience for you and your guests. However, the true jewel of the outdoors is the swimming sanctuary, a shimmering oasis measuring 8.5 meters in length and spanning 4 meters in width. Its depths range from 0.60 to 1.7 meters, extending an irresistible invitation to refreshing aquatic interludes and sun-dappled repose as you bask in the serenity of this remarkable property.

Location:
Nestled in the fabulous rural landscape of Minho, the nearest village to Villa Anisa is around 4km away, where you will find small shops and cafes. Located between so many interesting towns and natural spaces, Villa Anisa is in the ideal spot to explore the fascinating history of the region, as well as the sublime landscape. The delightful market town of Barcelos is just a 30-minute drive away, while the stunning historical centre of Viana do Castelo is just 25 minutes west, where there are even sandy beaches! The country’s only National Park, the mountainous nature reserve of Peneda Geres National Park is 35 minutes east, and hosts prehistoric remains, walking trails and rugged hills as well as deer, wolves and golden eagles!
Ponte de Lima, one of Portugal’s oldest and most historic towns with a delightful range of shops, bars and restaurants among the ornate squares and cobbled alleyways is just 15 minutes away. While the town of Braga, the capital of the district, is about 40 minutes away and hosts many relics of the region’s diverse history. With so much on your doorstep, you can visit a new historical and beautiful town every day!
Minho is a fantastic, largely rural region on the northernmost Atlantic tip of Portugal, bordering the Spanish region of Galiza, with which it shares many attributes. Minho is perhaps most famous as the home of the Vinho Verde, a crisp, dry white wine (although as the name suggests, it is in fact green!) best enjoyed with a local fish dish.
Portugal itself is a small, fascinating country at the most Western point of mainland Europe. The capital, Lisbon, is known for its lively nightlife, with endless bars and clubs full of fun-loving locals and tourists alike, but also has plenty of fascinating history (check out Belém, jam-packed with monuments!) and undulating terrain, famously termed the ‘city of the seven hills’. From Lisbon, it is very quick to travel by the domestic high-speed train line to the city of Braga, which will connect you fairly quickly to Villa Anisa.
With a vast coastline with the powerful Atlantic Ocean, Portugal is a true paradise for the keen surfer, or indeed even those looking to try if for the first time. And for those less keen on surfing, the beaches of Portugal are still well worth a visit for their beautifully clear waters and fine sands.
