I feel bad about leaving this review as the house was very nice and host was very kind and responsive. I would just prefer to have known these things before i booked. It seems the cleaning staff may not have done a complete clean. Opened food left in pantry and fridge, mouse droppings in kitchen drawers and some stains and broken doors found upon arrival. I messaged the host and he was apologetic. The listing seems to note AC but there is no AC at al. Something in the listing made me aware of this before i booked so I did ask since our trip was July. Host indicated they had not received complaints, however we found it quite uncomfortable during the day. I do not feel he was honest with me and led me to believe something other than what he knew to be true. It was a bit better for most at night, except the master bedroom windows had no screens so we could not open the windows first night. My husband found screens and installed a couple which made the remaining nights better. I have rented many homes over the years and was never so disappointed and felt so misled. I was offered a refund on my cleaning fee due to the mouse droppings and hope to

We do NOT recommend this home. It had no hot water for our entire stay. It had no locks on the windows, which we had to find brooms to keep them shut, it was dusty, had dead flies on the window counter, old water bottles left behind, and cheap furniture. We did not complain about any of the above issues to Randolph, the owner, except of course, for the no hot water issue. We did not call Vrbo during our stay to complain, because Randolph was in communication with us about this issue. A plumber arrived and was unable to fix it. Randolph said he would compensate us for our troubles. He lied. Randolph waited for us to check out to tell us that being that we didn’t run the dishwasher or washing machine, and broke a chair, he would not compensate us. We did not know that VRBO would have compensated us if we notified them during our stay not after we checked out. Randolph had gotten paid, and they could not do anything about it because we already checked out. What kind of policy is that? He is a crook and a liar. How he compared our entire stay of not having hot water to leaving his home dirty is upsetting and unfair. What is the point of a cleaning fee? So very disappointing that there are people like Randolph in this world, making money off of homes that are not up to par, and Vrbo is also disappointing for having such a policy. We have tried getting some form of compensation from the owner or Vrbo and unfortunately have not. We urge you to find another place.

It was a beautiful property, the children were impressed and didn't want to leave after one night. We received prompt replies to our queries, including our request to extend the stay. We will look into booking again next year.
