Great hotel for our overnight stay with our dog. Very friendly & helpful staff. Good amount of hotel parking so we were able to walk to our chosen places without the worry of checking for parking spaces & payments.

Lovely Hotel very welcoming and helpful staff. We had a comfort room, double bed and single bed at the front of the hotel in the annexe. Very large room also large bathroom.
Only downside was the traffic around 5.30am was a bit noisy!

Excellent service from check in to checkout. Fantastic room with great view. Great location with parking. Only downside was compact spaces. Only a problem as we have a large car and it was tight. Would definitely visit again.

Great hotel with sea view. Clean, comfy and staff are great. Food in restaurant is great and breakfast superb.

This hotel is situated in the middle of Lyme Regis, so it's a great location. There's a small car park behind the hotel. In my view, the hotel is tired. The carpet in my room was stained and the room needed upgrading. The room felt shabby, particularly considering the price.
The communal areas were good - There's a friendly, busy bar, a swimming pool, a snooker table and table tennis table. The breakfast (included in the price) was good.

The room was gorgeous and the staff lovely - would definitely come again to explore the home of Mary Anning!

We had a really enjoyable stay. Clean & comfortable throughout. Good food also; both dinner & breakfasts!

We really enjoyed our stay here and were really impressed all round. It’s a great location and has loads of character. The breakfast is incredible too, would definitely recommend and go back!

Great location, service, car park (important in Lyme Regis) and wont hesitate to stay here next time

Good location for what we wanted. The place has character with squeaky floors and lopsided doors which we prefer ,rather than a surgical, zero personality premiere inn.
Staff were helpful and friendly.

It was a lovely stay, the syaff were very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was amazing. We loved having the pool, jacuzzi and sauna access as well. And they let us check in early, which was a huge help as we were attending a wedding.

Had a very good 3 day stay. Very comfortable and the staff were very friendly. Excellent Breakfast and position in Lyme Regis.

The hotel is very convenient for walking to the shops, restaurants and sea, especially if hills are a problem.
The hotel also has comfortable lounges to sit in.

We were not aware when we booked that our room would not be in the main hotel. The room was small, airless and because we were in a courtyard we had to keep the curtains closed. The room was very basic, the shower pathetic and when we asked for mugs we were told the Hotel doesn't do mugs! Great food and staff but disappointing accommodation.

Perfectly located in the centre of Lyme Regis. Comfortable room, soft towels and luxury products. Breakfast was delicious both mornings and our evening meal was very good too. The shower wasn’t great in our room which we mentioned and they tried to improve its function. Also the blind did not look as if it had been wiped clean for a while but reception area was busy and crowded when we were checking out so I didn’t have a chance to mention it.

We stayed for a couple of nights. Comfortable hotel with a slightly old fashioned air about it. We didn’t eat in the evening but the breakfasts were good. Shout out to Sharon (forgive me if I have the name wrong) who went above and beyond to shuffle things around so that we did not have to move rooms during our stay during this VERY busy Bank Holiday weekend. Really appreciated her personal attention. The location is perfect for exploring this absolutely lovely town - and the parking is a godsend.

Lovely Hotel in a great location, helpful and friendly staff .
Room number 9 is spacious for 2 adults and a child with a large en-suite bathroom.
The hotel room needs an update, definitely double glazing is needed as it’s 1 floor up from the high street, we barely had any sleep due to traffic noise.

I've always wanted to stay at the Royal Lion Hotel, having been to Lyme most years for the past 20 years. Im so glad I did!
It was a lovely stay. The staff will bend over backwards for you. We only had one meal there (breakfast) and it was the best Avacado on Toast I have ever had. Service was great. Plenty of menu choice but probably less than the norm.
If anything negative had to be said, it would be that the hotel generally needs a good carpet and upholstery clean. Its oldy woldy deco which should remain with certainty, but I would like to see a little more care in this area.
Overall, I will definitely be returning. Thank you for a wonderful stay!

Perfect location, friendly staff, room we stayed in definitely needs updating, parking great but is challenging especially when busy, breakfast was ok.

Lovely atmosphere, very helpful and courteous staff.
Easy check in.
Breakfast was fantastic, choice of buffet and cooked plenty of tea and coffee and juices.
Unfortunately our stay was for one night only, would love to have stayed longer,we will definitely be back.
Also a lovely swimming pool and jacuzzi.

All round good stay in a lovely location.

Lovely friendly staff. Nice breakfast.
Room (28) needs updating. Shower dreadful - no pressure! Needed window open because of heat and therefore room was noisy. I suppose, in fairness, we could have asked for a fan.
Convenient location with parking on site.

Great location in the middle of town; with on site parking. Very friendly and efficient staff, who cared about their clientele. Room was to a very good standard. Swimming pool - remember you need to book a time slot in advance. Breakfast - good choice. Overall good value for money - for the time of year - August - would recommend.

Excellent service and outstanding breakfast.

To be met with blurting out the cost in front of my partner wasn't a good start. After a six hour drive I get told we have to book breakfast time and everyday !!!!!!!. Room good, breakfast lovely but staff at reception surly and borderline snotty/rude. Very overpriced for what it was , nearly a grand for four nights , not even a small fridge in the room.
Would we stay there again ? No Would we stay at Lyme Regis again ? definately

A hotel in a historic building in the heart of Lyme Regis. It's close to the sea and restaurants. We ate one night at the hotel and it was good. There is also a pool, sauna and jacuzzi which are on a reservation basis so you get your own private facilities for an hour. The breakfast is in a fantastic hall.

Awesome place to stay in such a charming town. We had such a good time we extended our stay.

The Royal Lion is a good tradional pub hotel, much as you'd expect in a seaside town, very central and close to the beach and amenities. I had one issue with noise throughout the night from a boiler, I was in room 26; if I stayed again I would check to make sure the noise had been sorted.
1.5 / 5.0
Perfect location but if your room is at the front of the building its extremely noisy. Ned is a queen size, no air con just a fan. No power shower, more power using the tap!
4.0 / 5.0
Convenient for everything Lyme Regis has to offer. Enquire about rooms if you have mobility issues. Good beer and choice of food. Would have preferred separate areas for people with dogs when eating as some of them can be somewhat smelly!
