Worst Hotel ever, left the hotel after the first night, even though I had paid for the second and not refund was offered. Rather pay for another room somewhere else.

They over booked the hotel and did not have our room. They did not check hotels.com bookings. Another guest gave up a room they had booked. The front desk was arguing in front of a lobby full of guests about who gave our room away. They seemed busier than normal because of the storm coming. The rooms smelled like smoke. My window was literally screwed open and rain was coming in. It was dirty and sheets did not seem cleaned so asked for more to switch out. Walked to the grocery to buy air freshener and Clorox wipes to clean up. Breakfast was surprisingly good.

Had to grab a room at the Golden Tree Hotel due to Hurricane Beryl so it was kinda last minute. The staff was very welcoming and friendly and helped me with any and every question I had for them. Overall this hotel just isn’t in good shape though and I would recommend trying to find someplace to stay more east in Belize City by the water. This hotel isn’t really near any restaurants so unless you plan on paying for taxis to and from lunch or dinner you’re pretty much stuck with their “restaurant” (which had very fair priced food and the food was so so). Breakfast was also so so but it was free and served daily so you can only complain so much; also the coffee was definitely not good. The rooms were clean but our window shades kept falling off and the sliding glass door in our shower was completely broken and kept falling out of the grooves. We also had essentially no water coming out of the sink bathroom. You have to keep you card “plugged in” while you’re in your room for the electricity to come on. I get the eco friendly aspect of it all but it also meant the air conditioning wouldn’t be running while you were out so we always came back to a hot room. I would also steer clear of the pool, there wasn’t water circulating when I went in which most likely means they just blast it with chlorine. I actually believe I got a rash from chemical burn from going in the pool so proceed with caution. It was nice having a roof during a potential hurricane but I wouldn’t stay here again

My stay was average, on my last day I woke up to the smell of sewage which was so horrible I couldn’t wait to check out, otherwise the staff are friendly and the service wasn’t bad

When we got there, they had to put us in a basic economy room that is as big as a closet, and was told we would get a credit for that night, didn’t happen. The site is nothing like the actual hotel. Horrible experience.

Deception of money. I already paid online. Went to the hotel and charged again.

No towels/poor restaurant
No bar

When we got there front desk person said she couldn’t find our reservation after 5 mins she did, the room we were giving was so tiny we couldn’t move, no room for our luggage.

I was pleasantly surprised with our room and stay here. Our room was cozy and clean. It had a tv and good working AC to keep us cool. The bathroom was spacious. I loved that they had a pool on the roof top that was open until midnight. I didn’t use the gym but they had a floor w lots of equipment and weights to use. Parking was available. They provided a delicious breakfast every morning. The chef cooked some great delicious meals. For the affordable price, this is a great bargain of a deal. Highly recommended.

Great value, friendly staff.

This is the worst hotel I have used in the last 45+years. Grossly overrated, hotels.com said it was 3.8 and a real hotel nearby was a 3.9. This hotel was a 1 or 2 max. I learned it had been closed and recently reopened. Hotel staff emptied out my room, took my luggage, toiletries, because they couldn't find my name in their file...even though the manager checked me in. I came back after working late to find my room empty, the key still worked, but all my property was missing.

Very poor offerings from restaurant

First, the property was QUIET. Unlike other hotels I stayed at in Belize. It was so refreshing. But I rate this hotel highly because they had everything you need, they were close to a lot of things. They had great connections to tourist companies but most of all (and I really mean it), the staff was absolutely phenomenal. Everyone from the kitchen, front desk, management to maintenance workers. I felt so welcomed and so cared for from the moment I walked in to the second I left with hugs from many of the staff.
The staff personally made soup for me that wasn’t on the menu because I was recovering from food poisoning (got it elsewhere). They brought it to my room. They checked on me. They went above and beyond guys. Before, I was staying at a more expensive hotel and they couldn’t have cared less. I went to the golden tree and they treated me like I was one of their own.
The rooms have everything you need. AC worked great. Quiet. Welcoming space. Cute pool on the roof. Would highly recommend for adult travelers.

Yes it has aircon and hot water but the hotel is very run down. I had a shower on the first day and the bath was filthy . The blind was hanging off and badly stained.

Staffs, they are very nice. The manager Árida is very nice and friendly. She took good care of me.

The hotel was ok. The checkin process was horrible. I had booked and paid for this trip a month in advance and when I got there, the staff told me there was no room for me, while they were checking in walkins. I got annoyed and was told they were not going to adress my situation because I was annoyed. I was annoyed with good reason. Later the same staff said Expedia had not paid them since November 2023 and that was why I was not on the list. In the end, they did honor the stay and I got a room, not the original King size bed but two double. I took it. Check out was also unfriendly but that was probably because of the checkin. Breakfast was ok.

The receptionist did not speak English. The owner knocked on my door once and then opened the door to "check the room". The bed was hard and the sheets stained. no hot water in the shower. overall the worst night stay I have ever had!

I had a very horrible service experience. From the first day. I payed for a king room for 3 nights and I was given a queen room on my first night. On one said nothing to me when I checked in I had to come down back to the front desk to be told. Sorry we don't have no king room until the next day. As a matter a fact when I checked in they wanted to charge me again without even looking to see if I had paid already. I asked about compensation and the manager told me to my face she can't do nothing about that. Even though I payed for a king room for 3 nights. She even said to me that my compensation is that she gave me a king form for the next 2 nights remember now I payed for 3 night of a king room. There's so much more but I would never recommend this hotel to no body. As a matter a fact I have a group of 25 people going to Belize in November and I promise you none of us will stay there and if anyone ask me about place to stay in Belize I will say. Do not stay at Golden tree hotel.

The property looked as if it has had recent improvements which was nice. Room wa very nice and pool area was nice. Really good complimentary breakfast. Staff was great and helped me with transportation. Overall very good stay.

The property was not as advertised. Also, the rooms were a joke and very small.

I enjoy my stay in Belize. I feel that I am well taken care of. The staffs are friendly and nice. I enjoyed the complimentary breakfast, coffee and cold water in the lobby. Also the pool and gym amenities. I also have a great view of the city from the top. I am definitely gonna stay there if I have another chance to stay in Belize.

Nothing special

WiFi doesn’t work in the rooms and the hotel needs renovations. Also the queen rooms are really small and the hallways are dirty. I had to check out of my room an hour after checking in because I could not access my emails for work. The hotel refused to refund my stay even though they acknowledged there was a problem with the WiFi. Save yourself the headaches and stay elsewhere
3.1
The room was dirty. There was a lot of noise (dogs, roosters, traffic etc).
The staff was nice and friendly, but the hotel is under major renovations. In maybe 1-2 years ti will be up to par.
3.1
This property is in the midst of some renovations however, when it is finished, I’m sure it will be top-notch. The staff were very friendly. The restaurant was great for breakfast. The pool was unbelievably perfect. The rooms were very clean and I would have no issues staying there again. If the facility had been completely renovated, it would’ve been a five star.

Nice roof terrase with swimmingpool. Nice toom with viuw.
A little far from the town centre.

Room wasn’t ready. Shower was unusable. You had to climb like 6 feet just to get into it. Pool area sitting was limited food was not good. But staff were very friendly
3.1
Overbooked the hotel and almost didn’t have a room!
Then tried to take the room back again, very rustic , ALOT of unfinished work everywhere in this hotel. Sheets were dirty on one bed. Open soaps.
Just prepare it us NOT an American standard hotel at all!
