Welcome to Breakaway in Mercer Village located in the heart of Old Town Port A, walkable to the best eateries, shopping and nightlife the island has to offer. With 3BR, 2.5BA, sleeping 9-10, in 1555 sq. ft., this newly built and furnished home is steps from the community pool and offers 2 designated parking spots near your door. Breakaway is located in the golf cart zone with easy access to the beach, marina and many Port A must see spots. No Smoking. Pets considered. COPASTR: 381-797
Guests can rent a golf cart from Coastal Eds! We encourage you to book the golf cart with Coastal Eds as soon as possible, we cannot guarantee availability if you choose to delay booking.
Welcome to Breakaway, in the Mercer Village community on Oleander St, which is 1 block west of Alister St. This community is newly built in 2021, is an easy drive (within 5 min) to the beach, and in the heartbeat of Old Town with some of the best food, excellent shopping, live music, entertainment and more - in walking distance!
Arriving at Breakaway is really easy with 2 designated parking spots in the parking area on the side of Breakaway. Enjoy the beautiful front porch to relax and feel the island sea breeze. Enter into a spacious living room with a large TV and comfy couch and seating! This open concept floor plan also offers a spacious dining area, chef's kitchen and kitchen island - this area is perfect for entertaining, meals together, and/or planning your beach/fishing day ahead!
The kitchen is well stocked for all of your prepping, cooking, serving and dining needs. Not just functional and well equipped, Breakaway is perfectly finished and designed with a coastal flair.
Also on the main floor is a half bath and laundry room with a full size washer and dryer for guest use.
Head upstairs to 3 bedrooms and 2 full bathrooms: King Bedroom with private bathroom, Queen Bedroom, and a Bunk Room with 2 bunk beds, both are twin over full.
Don't forget the large community pool for swimming and water fun after all of your Port Aransas sight seeing, fishing and beaching! It will be the perfect spot to cool off and make memories with your friends and family!

- Please remember that you are on an island; mosquitos/pests can be plentiful several times per year. Our properties are treated by a professional pest control service every 4-8 weeks.
- 2 pets are allowed at this home. But pets must be approved in advance and are subject to an additional fee of $150 per pet. If undisclosed pets are brought into the home without AvantStay's approval there is a fine of $500 per pet.
- Please note that the maximum occupancy includes infants and babies. Ensure that the total number of guests, including little ones, adheres to the specified occupancy limit.

Accidental Damage Protection: A non-refundable accidental damage protection plan has been included in the price of your reservation. Under this plan, you will not be held responsible to pay for accidental damage or loss to the rental property resulting from you or others in your party up to $2000. This plan does not cover intentional acts of a guest, gross negligence, or willful and wanton conduct, and/or damages caused by pets. This plan is not available for reservations 28 days or longer or reservations that require a security deposit.
This is a smoke-free property. Violation of the no-smoking policy will result in forfeiture of the security deposit, a $300 smoking fee, and liability for any fire or property damage costs.
As part of our commitment to being good neighbors, occupancy limits and quiet hours (9pm-8am) are strictly enforced. No speakers or sound systems will be provided for use in our properties. Violation of any noise ordinances will be subject to fines that can reach up to $10,000 per violation.
Events or parties are not allowed without prior written approval and an additional fee. Any unauthorized parties or events will be shut down and a fine will be assessed. Please inquire for more information about our event policies and fees.
There is nothing more important to us at AvantStay than the health, safety, and experience of our guests & staff. We've enhanced our cleaning and sanitation protocols and are taking extra care to disinfect all surfaces between reservations with hospital-grade disinfecting solutions.
As a reminder, we do work with 3rd party vendors to maintain the property, and although we adhere to the strictest CDC guidelines and advise all contractors to wear PPE equipment, we can not always enforce. We strongly advise guests to please deny access if any vendors fail to meet and adhere to these standards.

We had a total of 18 friends and family at all different locations. Our place was the “Hub”! The house was amazing plenty of room and stocked with everything we needed! Will definitely be our go to vacation house!!

The house was great, new appliances, convenient location, but the housekeeping was absolutely terrible. The obvious stuff was taken care of, clean counters and floors on the first floor, but there were animal poop stains on the rug, dishes that were put back in the cabinets with food and grease still caked on them. The second floor had dirty floors, dirty hand and footprints on the walls, and large food crumbs under the beds.the worst part of the second floor were the beds. The linen was not washed whatsoever. The cleaners just made the dirty beds and didn't even bother to brush off crumbs and debris, let alone throw the sheets and blankets in the washer. There were stains on every sheet down to the mattress protectors on every single bed. The hair. There was so much hair throughout the sheets. Both animal and human.We spent several hours on our first two days of our vacation unmaking beds, washing, and remaking beds. The owner did offer to fix the issue but we felt more comfortable handling it ourselves.(how could we trust the cleaners to do it right after missing so many major dirty things?)There was also a lot of cigarette butts, trash, and dog poop throughout the front yard that was taken care of after we complained. Mostly everything was picked up except for the poop.Overall, I wish we didn't have to spend so much time dealing with the very unsaintary beds.We made the most of it and still had a good time.I hope the cleaners can do a better job for the next family.

Overall, would consider staying here again as the pros outweighed the cons. Just be aware of the cons.
Pros: the space fit our needs very well, was super clean, two fridges was a nice perk, and great location in the golf cart zone like we wanted.
Cons:
Mgmt hid in the fine print that you pay for trip insurance inside the cost. An optional add-on for things like flights/hotels, but this place bakes it in - to the tune of 10% on top of an already not-cheap place. I found it in the fine print and messaged mgmt to opt-out - only to be unapologetically told I had to contact the ins company directly (and was given no company name, contact info or any help to do so). After multiple calls to track this down and cancel it, it hit a 10-days after booking cancellation deadline, and I was stuck with it.
Second, my friend's 8yo son almost had the living room cabinet/credenza fall on him. Thankfully we were standing right there and caught the piece before it flipped over. (Mgmt: you should really anchor that to the wall given how it opens).
Lastly, we were getting to town earlier than the 4pm check-in (which IMO already pushes the bounds of reasonable check-in time), so we requested early check-in. They extended to 3:30pm. I understand they're under no obligation to grant early check-in, but also they'd asked if we wanted to discount extend our stay bc it was an open "gap" night; so not ppl were staying there the night before. Not a BIG problem - just don't book and expect different.
