Welcome to Nichol Road Hideaway by Tiny Away! Also known as Annie's Retreat Vineyard and Orchard is a beautiful rural property that has been thriving for 14 years in Allans Flat with a stunning 360-degree view of the surrounding valleys. Its home to Angus Cattles, flourishing Shiraz grapevines, and bountiful pistachio nut trees.
We cultivate fresh, local produce from our thriving herb garden, fruit tree orchard, chickens, and vegetable patch, ensuring an authentic farm-to-table experience for all.
The Space:
Nichol Road Hideaway by Tiny Away is perched atop a hill in the small town of Allans Flat, offering breathtaking views of Mt Buffalo and Baranduda Ranges—surrounded by farms, green pastures, Pistachio Orchards, and our own Angus Cattles. Making it the perfect private retreat for you and your loved ones, secured by a farm shed and a water tank at the back, ensuring utmost privacy for our guests.
Discover the ultimate outdoor adventure by taking a short trip to some of the most breathtaking locations for hiking and mountain biking, just an hour's drive from the property. You can explore Mount Hotham, Mount Beauty, King Valley, and the Alpine National Park.
The tiny house is approximately 139 sq ft in size. A comfortable accommodation with easy water access, split air conditioning, a kitchenette, cooking equipment, and excellent bathroom facilities. These amenities include an eco-friendly cassette toilet with a removable waste holding tank, hand basin, and gas-heated shower.
If you plan to spend your tiny house Victoria getaway here, we advise that you bring your basic necessities, such as food and water during your stay with us. Thank you.
IMPORTANT NOTE: Please be advised that there may be some noise from farm animals, such as cows, our dog, and local bird life, particularly magpies, during your stay.
AirBnB lodging is also available in the farmhouse, and visitors are kindly requested to exercise discretion near the fire pit when near the house.
Guest Access:
Guests will have access to the tiny house and the entirety of the 10-acre sculptured garden. However, it is important to note that the farmhouse, immediate garden, vineyard sheds, and event center shed are restricted areas and are not accessible to guests.
In addition, please be advises that there will be other guests on the property (main farmhouse) and access to the pastures and orchards is strictly restricted unless accompanied by a host.

Nichol Road Hideaway by Tiny Away sits in the small town of Allans Flat, only a 10-minute drive from the historical town of Yackandandah, 25 minutes to Beechworth, and 25 minutes to Albury. Within an hour's drive, you can visit the Victoria highlands with Mount Beauty, and Mount Hotham, situated in one of the best tiny house Victoria getaways.
Our local recommendations:
- Mount Hotham has excellent powder snow slopes and reliable snow cover in winter.
- Mount Beauty is a small town situated at the foot of Mount Bogong and Falls Creek, perfect for skiing and mountain biking.
- King Valley is a wine-producing and agricultural region that boasts world-class wines, gourmet food, and spectacular scenery.
- The Alpine National Park is a paradise for adventure lovers where you can explore wildflower-draped landscapes on horseback and mountain bike trails.
Food Scene
- Yackandandah Hotel, also known as the "Bottom Pub" serves a great selection of well-prepared food.
Star Hotel- Top Pub has an extensive menu of char grilled meats, salads, pizzas, pasta and serves breakfast.
Grace’s Place- Beautifully prepared fresh Thai Food with local wine selection- Takeaway menu as well.
Coffee Outlets and Cafes: Beechworth Bakery, Laneway Café at Star Hotel, 2 Sisters on High and Stockroom & Pantry.
Getting Around:
By car:
- 3.5 hours drive from Melbourne
- 15 mins, 10kms drive from the nearest town is Yackandandah
By public transport:
- There are trains/ planes to Albury/ Wodonga daily. Taxis cost $90 one way to the property. Most guests will need a vehicle or bike to get to the nearest town, Yackandandah.
Other Things to Note:
- Gas BBQ Grill is available
- No smoking allowed on the property
- Breakfast is available at an extra cost
- Barbecue is available by prior request
- Up to two (2) pet dogs only by prior notice
- No unregistered visitors or guests allowed
- Telstra has a good signal and the rest has a weak signal
- Firewood and kindling are available at $20 per stay
- Pets are not allowed on beds and sofas, and clean after your pet’s droppings
- Please clean up after your pet’s shedding before checking out in courtesy of other guests
- Please note that this is a PET-FRIENDLY property, and pet policies will be sent prior to arrival
- We would like to advise guests that longer stays or later check-outs will incur an additional charge
