Book Villa Pinna and secure yourself a peaceful holiday in the beautiful Istrian town of Liznjan
Linjan is a small fishing village with a protected natural harbour on a small peninsula in the very south of Istria. The place offers a marvellous view of the crystal clear sea and the Kvarner islands of exceptional beauty.
There are around 28 kilometres of beautiful, unspoilt beaches, most of which are rocky. The locals are engaged in tourism, but also in fishing, as they did a thousand years ago. An undiscovered jewel opposite the coast is the island of Levan with a beautiful sandy beach and some catering facilities, an ideal place for those who are looking for adventure and want to experience the sea in a different way.
As far as historical sights are concerned, you should visit the small church of Our Lady of Kuj (from the 17th century, built on the site of a former Roman villa) and the church of St Martin (from 1879, located in the old town centre of Linjan, a three-nave church in neo-Romanesque style). Numerous festivals take place in Linjan in the summer, the most famous of which are the traditional Linjan Night, Fishermen's Night and Brodet Cup and the Holly Assumption Festival with music and gastronomic specialities. During your stay in Linjan, you should not miss out on visiting many other festivals and fairs as well as some of the larger tourist destinations in the immediate vicinity, such as Pula, Pore and Rovinj.
