This place is never a disappointment. This is my go to hotel in Boston. The rooms are beautiful. Contessa is lovely. The Street Bar is impeccable old school fabulous Boston.

Very clean. Great location. Friendly staff. Bar on the first floor could have a better menu, we weren’t impressed with food choices for lunch. Beautiful restaurant upstairs, however food was average… octopus served on the pillow of bell peppers and a ton of oil… not good.

It's a beautiful location, clean rooms, comfortable beds. Amazing location on Newbury and near public gardens and T options. Very walkable from anywhere in Boston. Couldn't get room upgrade only because they only had rooms with one king bed and I needed two queens, so that's why we didn't get that VIP perk. They did discount our most expensive meal with VIP perk which is an incredible perk given one of the best restaurants in Boston is located in the hotel - Contessa. Books sooo far in advance so make sure you reserve. Would stay here again

**Review of The Newbury Boston**
I recently had the pleasure of staying at The Newbury Boston, and it was a delightful experience from start to finish. The hotel exudes a perfect blend of elegance and warmth that made me feel right at home.
First and foremost, the cleanliness of the hotel was impeccable. Every corner of the property, from the lobby to the rooms, was spotless, showing the staff's dedication to maintaining a pristine environment.
The bellman service was outstanding. The bellmen were not only efficient but also incredibly friendly and helpful. They greeted me with warm smiles and promptly assisted with my luggage, making the check-in process smooth and stress-free.
The maid service was top-notch as well. My room was meticulously cleaned every day, with fresh linens, neatly arranged toiletries, and a tidy room each time I returned. The attention to detail was impressive.
In-room service was equally fantastic. The food arrived promptly, was delicious, and beautifully presented. The menu offered a great variety of options, catering to different tastes and preferences.
While the front desk service was generally good, it was a bit mixed. The tall front desk staff member who spoke Spanish to me was very nice and accommodating, which was a pleasant surprise. However, some of the other front desk staff could benefit from a bit more smiling and warmth in their interactions.
Despite this minor hiccup, my stay at The Newbury Boston was wonderful.

Staff was not the best trained, they were courteous but not friendly and it was difficult to get a smile from some of them.
Location is the best, restaurants very good.
Attention to detail maybe a little bit less than expected for this class of hotel.
The lobby felt empty and almost every time I entered it was empty. It was difficult to find the concierge every time I need him/her. There was no one at the door on Newbury street most of the time.
TV screen in the room probably the worst I've had in many years. It is hard to operate due to the remote control which is definitely the worst I have ever operated. some channels lacked the option of HD and looked terrible.
It took me 4 tries to reach someone at guest services at 10:45 pm.
Room service took 50 minutes to deliver a hamburger.
Overall is a great location, a great building, well kept, but it needs work on the hospitality details.

We had a wonderful stay over the 4th of July. The service was impeccable, and the room was delightful. The concierge managed to secure same-day reservations for us at Contessa. We will definitely be back again.

Refreshed rooms and great location but the views from the room of the Common were the best part. They did a good job bringing life back into the hotel since the Taj. Downside was that our room smelled like smoke so we kept the window open most of the time which seems like something they should have addressed prior to assigning the room to someone. Everyone we interacted with was pleasant but the service was subpar for the price point (Raffles makes the Newbury feel like you’re staying at a Holiday Inn). Overall, it was a fine stay. If you’re dying for a spectacular view of Boston or need to be on the Common this is the spot. Otherwise, you can find nicer all around hotels for a better value in Boston.
