Very disappointed in Sofitel. We had a long italy trip and every hotel we stayed in was beyond amazing and they all had breakfast included and great service. Sofitel was extremely expensive for nothing. Breakfast isn’t included. We booked a luxury room with view and my view was a construction site that they refused to change for us even though we PAID for a view. Beyond disappointing.

It’s a lovely hotel. Very clean. The staff were friendly and attentive. Breakfast was excellent. We like to walk but be forewarned the hotel is on a hill so be prepared for some exercise!

I chose the Sofitel for my stay in Rome because of its' reputation for upscale, luxury accommodations. This was a special trip to celebrate my husband's 70th birthday. With almost no lobby, and limited seating that looks like it came from Ikea, the hotel is more about 'style' than substance. Decorated in marble tones and white, the decor aims for a contemporary, minimalist look that in reality translates to a lack of comfort and purpose. Our 'luxury' room had no chairs, no desk, and a bathroom counter that didn't have room for any personal items. Our Juliette balcony was a rip-off. It wasn't high enough to provide ANY view, and not wide enough to sit on. These balconies are limited to the hotel's third floor ONLY, so this provides an idea of what you can see. Other buildings and trash. To set up a his computer in our room, my husband was forced to sit on a foot stool and hunch over a small cocktail table. The hotel has some of the worst room design I've seen. It's obvious the designers didn't try to stay in the room. To add to the overall inconvenience of the hotel, it is situated at the top of a steep hill, so even using the metro, you end a long, hot day with a 15 minute steep, up hill trek. I regret my choice of this hotel and would not recommend it. The staff were friendly and nice, but not accommodating to personal needs. They have such a volume of tourism they don't need to provide anything more than a basic level of service. Another hotel choice, definitely!

Outstanding property in the upscale Borghese neighborhood of Rome that is a little quieter and off the beaten path for most tourists. Property itself is outstanding with spacious room, ultra modern bathroom, and high ceiling.
A fantastic rooftop bar for meals or just a nightcap before going downstairs to end the evening is one of the other great things about this hotel. Convenient two block walk to a bus stop as well as several great restaurants within a two block radius. Staff is very friendly and attentive. Very much helped to make a very memorable experience in Rome.

All the staff were very courteous and attentive.
The location was very good for reaching all the major attractions in Rome.
We would have preferred to have access to a bar without the need to have a meal.
Tourists should be vigilant with regard to pick pockets on the metro. My wife and I nearly became prey to this but fortunately my wife was alert to the danger.
Overall, we were very pleased we chose this hotel.

About a 5-7 minutes walk to the Spanish Steps. 10-15 Minute walk to Galleria Borghese (Beauitful!!! please book ahead!!), Trevi Fountain. Great Location! The restaurant upstairs overlooks the Villa Borghese with the very nice views of the city as backdrop. The service from porters, receptionists, concierge to wait staff at the restaurant all very very good! The only person that didn’t speak English was the room attendant but our rooms/beds were made up cleanly/efficiently everyday! We stayed 5 nights and ate breakfast at the restaurant every morning. Breakfast staff very very friendly. Arranged for last minute tours with the concierge and they got us transport quickly. Overall a very pleasant stay at a well maintained hotel. We splurged a little but worth it!

Great boutique hotel. Ideal for couples. Location by the Borghese Park is perfect, very silent and yet very close to everything.
The restaurant is excellent.
The only downside was the gym.

Enjoyed that it was situated not to far away from most of the main attractions, but was in a quiet area away from the city centre.

Sofitel Roma was a wonderful hotel in a great area of Rome. It was an easy walk to many of the sites we wanted to see and the staff was exceptional. The room was spacious by European standards and the housekeeping was immaculate. My only complaint was about the bathroom. There was very little counter space for toiletries and the shower had a rain shower head right at the door which made it extremely easy to get water all over the floor.
