Nice room. Staff outstanding. Beds are not the best, one of the least comfortable compared to high end competitors at equal level

Room was nice & clean, hallways need to be updated and carpet cleaned. Beds were very uncomfortable leading us to check out early due to back pain. Reserved your room facing the opposite direction of the beach. Was offered another room and I accepted so we were able to check in once we got up to the room we noticed the difference so we called the front desk. A different front desk person answered and was arguing the point that they’re the same. On Hotels.com I paid more for that choice, it was extremely noisy with sirens all night and the bar across the street .

The view was amazing; the check in clerk was awesome and told me about fabulous restaurants that I tried and loved. I will definitely come back to this hotel the next time I'm in Wakiki!

We booked a stay for 12 nights. One week in, their staff went on strike. It was Labor day weekend on 9/1/2024. Our room wasn't attended to for the rest of our stay. No trash pickup, no fresh sheets and towels, no cleaning of the room. There was also limited services throughout the hotel. Not to mention the disturbance of loud picketing with bullhorns, and banging of drums during the strike, which lasted all day. We got no peace for 3 whole days. The above are all basic expectations when one purchases a hotel room if this caliber. The hotel staff went on strike for unfair wages and treatment by management. They can now be accused of unfair treatment of guests as well. To be frank, we had a decent week until the strike. It's absurd to expect us to pay the same for the good days as for the ones with disturbances. They had no problem charging us. I experienced a migraine for 2 days, during what was supposed to be a very relaxing vacation. The hotel would not compensate us for the aggravation that we went through. They also charge a hefty $56 hotel fee for services that they don't even provide. We went for a Ukelele lesson, instrutor didn’t show. All in all, beware when choosing this hotel. It can happen to you too.

Bed in our room was extremely uncomfortable. We let the front desk know but we were there during the workers strike and it took all day to get it resolved. They ended up moving us to a nicer room but it was late and we were tired so it was a hassle since we had already unpacked.

So.. they charged us for an oceanfront room and gave us an ocean view room. They did the same to another woman in line.
Our rooms weren’t ready at 3pm!
The rooms are so minimal. They have no Q-tips, no magnifying mirror, the blanket is thin like a sheet.
The service is lacking completely, maybe because the staff was on strike? You can’t even get help if you call the hotel before arriving.

The last 2 days of my stay the staff were on strike. This impacted my stay negatively and altered my ability to relax.

Everything was absolutely wonderful. Even though some staff went on strike. Everyone working went above and beyond to try to make sure everything ran smoothly

Staff were on strike for the totality of my 3 day stay. No attempt was made by anyone to compensate for missing amenities and the chanting of the union strikers could be heard at the beach, pool, and restaurant's. They chanted with megaphones, drums, and sirens from 7AM til sundown every day of my vacation. My anxiety may be higher leaving than when I arrived. While the island was beautiful, this soured me on Marriott brands. We paid a premium for rooms in paradise and were met with disgruntled hospitality workers who deserve better from their employers. No managers were visible at any time, and the sole front desk person I saw looked on the verge of tears from fielding complaint after complaint.

Staff was on strike, there was no service while they were on strike but we were still charged resort fees. Nothing was open while they were on strike. Hotel did not make us aware of ongoing wage negotiations prior to arrival. We did not find out until the day after checking in.

I didn't like that you charge your guest a fee for parking and valet parking is across the street and not in the parking garage.

Throughout our stay, the hotel workers were on strike. The workers were chanting and beating on drums. I was unable to rest. My room was a mess and could not get linen and towels. On the first night, my sheets had blood on them. I have pictures.
I should get refunded for my stay.

The garage/parking it’ was very unsafe to drive as we fast or not driving safely as we were talking turns inside the garage 😱. Place sign …to make others driver aware of incoming cars/drive 15mph”. (Speed limite signs inside the garage)
Thank you for your hospitality!

They only clean our room 1 day after our second day we call and they didn’t answer after hours I call for clean towels they said to get some from the pool area !! We had to wake up at 5:30 am because it’s was a protest outside the hotel because the workers don’t get pay and that’s why they walk out of there job the day

Pools are horrible, no room service, workers strike our last two days and the noise from nearby streets drowns out the sound of the ocean. WORST VACATION EVER!

My family recently stayed at the Marriott Waikiki, and it was an absolutely fantastic experience from start to finish. The hotel’s location is unbeatable, just a short walk away from the iconic Waikiki Beach, and surrounded by a wide array of shops, restaurants, and attractions.
The room was spacious, modern, and offered a breathtaking view of the ocean which my son loved esp the sunset view. The bed was incredibly comfortable, ensuring a good night’s sleep after long days of exploring. I also appreciated the attention to detail in the room’s design and amenities, making our stay all the more relaxing.
The service was top-notch. From the warm welcome at check-in to the friendly and helpful staff throughout our stay, everyone went out of their way to make sure we had everything we needed. I also enjoyed the pool area, which was a perfect spot to unwind with a cocktail from the poolside bar, they offer a cabana which you can reserve for the whole day with a cost.
Dining at the hotel was a highlight as well. The breakfast buffet had a great selection, and the on-site restaurants offered delicious local and international dishes.
Overall, the Marriott Waikiki exceeded my expectations, providing a perfect blend of luxury, comfort, and convenience. I highly recommend it to anyone looking to experience the best of Waikiki.

ere’s your text translated into English:
“We called our parents all the way from Japan, booked this hotel for three nights, and were eagerly looking forward to the luau dinner on the final night, only for it to be suddenly canceled. The hotel staff cited the reason as a strike. This strike effectively ruined one of our nights’ stay. We were so excited to not only watch the performance but also to enjoy traditional Hawaiian cuisine for the first time, that we deliberately avoided Hawaiian food for several days in anticipation. And now, it’s just canceled. No compensation, nothing. What do you think about that?
Not only was the luau canceled, but even when we tried to make the most of our time by going to the pool, alcohol service was also unavailable due to the strike. I’m willing to pay a resort fee for complete service, but this time, I’m not satisfied at all.”
