Heater was broken and it was in the 20’s outside. So my room was frigid. I booked a king but got two queens. That turned out to be a blessing because one bed was so uncomfortable it felt like plywood with sheets on it. I did not have enough blankets for the coldness of the room. The carpet did not look clean at all but the bed clothes were fine. Then breakfast was only instant oatmeal or cold cereal. I was traveling for work, exhausted, and in need of a few hours of sleep. I wish I would have napped in my car.

The standard king room smelled of smoke, the bed sheet and floor err stained and very out dated circa the mid 70’s, and the room had no phone or elevator for disabled guests. My partner and I were there looking at new homes for a place to live so the second day we extended our plans and given a hard time for not coming down to inform them of our plans at 11 but we were in the furthest possible room without a phone and both have physical issues that prove to be hard to walk such distances! The third day we again slept past our check out and tried to extend our stay but didn’t know there was a problem with our bank and while we were getting it resolved we were again startled by hard knocking at our door and this time by the sheriff who said that the owner wanted us gone or being charged with trespassing. We left and then we were told that one of us looked like he was on drugs the night before which was anxiety medication and had our prescription bottles with us! We were trying to get away from a drug area but ultimately being gay was the reason we were kicked out by the sheriff! I left an important medication in the refrigerator and they tried to say that they found a drug pipe which was not ours and they threw away the medicine bottle that was clearly prescribed with the label on it! Do not stay here if you don’t want to fall into a time warp with a town of bigotry and hatred! Ridiculous that no matter how nice you are to others the hate for being different is still alive!
