Le Hameau Albert 1er is a wonderful world of its own in the middle of the beautiful town of Chamonix. It is quiet and scenic surrounded by mountains. As we pulled in we didn’t know what to expect but it is charm filled and historic. Moments from the town and train station it is the heart of it all and yet a magical world unto itself. The pool was wonderful. The staff was helpful and kind and the owner, who is the 5th generation to run this lovely place, was on site. The rooms were on the cozy size and had all we needed for relaxin and comfortable stay.

This was an amazing resort. It has been in the family for nearly 100 years. The staff were amazing and so hospitable. The Michelin star restaurant where we celebrated our daughter's birthday was incredible. We want to come back soon.

I selected this hotel to celebrate our 30th wedding anniversary and I am very confident that it was successful choice. Especially, their restaurant, Albert 1er, made our day extremely memorable.

The hotel is well located near key cable cars and train. Easy to walk. Staff were amazing. And we very much enjoyed the pool with views of Mt Blanc and the spa as well. Can certainly recommend this for a stay in Chamonix for hiking and enjoying the summer months.

The staff was completely uninterested in booking excursions or giving advice that did not relate to their own property and opportunities to make themselves money. Requests for recommendations in the area went completely and repeatedly ignored; staff was dismissive and condescending when attempts for help were made.

I have to say the room was large and lovely, the view stunning and the decor great. The indoor/outdoor pool was the reason we stayed and is lovely Also in a great location walking distance to the centre. However there were three things that marred our stay;
Firstly, the breakfast was very disappointing for the Euro 25 charge. The selection was very limited, we weren't even offered a croissant. The scrambled eggs and sausages were absolutely cold and as the chef presumably thought the eggs would be warm and keep cooking they were half raw. I saw the room service trays had fresh berries, we had defrosted ones. Next time I would do the less expensive room service.
Secondly at checkout we were charged every day for breakfast when because of our experience we had only had it one day. We were also charged Euro 25 for my nine year old daughter which thankfully I knew was twice what it should have been and could challenge.
Thirdly our booking had been for three but at checkout we were charged an extra charge for the third person even though it was clearly on the booking.
It is a lovely hotel, but considering it was more than twice the price of anywhere else in the valley this need to squeeze more money out of us left a very bad taste.
Also they say it is eco but they still have the tiny plastic bottles of shampoo. The maids took away our bar of soap after the first night (and didnt replace it so that was eco) and some of the towels even though we had left them on the rail.

This is the fifth or sixth time there and it’s always perfect. The only place I’ll stay in Chamonix!!
My wife loves it and our little dog Aston thinks it’s the best! Make sure you dine in both of their wonderful restaurants!

The staff are very pleasant and efficient. The location is good, just on the edge of downtown but away from the crowds.
However, like most Relais et Chateaux properties I’ve stayed at, the Hameau’s room is long on charm and short on modern comfort.
Specifically, soundproofing is non-existent, and in my room I constantly heard footfalls from neighboring rooms, and even a screaming woman from a quite-distant room.
The bathroom is large but very badly-designed. A lot of money was spent on a jetted bathtub, but the toilet was mounted very high on the wall; the toilet paper cascaded directly onto the toilet brush holder; the bidet was in an inaccessible corner; the shower had poor pressure and temperature was hard to balance; the shower opening butted up against the toilet.

Beautiful hotel with the most amazing pool but our room was literally about 10m from the main road which was not what we thought we paid almost £500 for... Despite that highly recommended

This hotel is phenomenal. I received an upgraded room with panoramic views of the mountains. Everything about this hotel is first class and I can’t wait to return.
