Amazing hotel. The staff is incredibly friendly and service-minded. Luxury hotel in a small city. Great breakfast and clean rooms. The only downside is no airconditioning in the room and no thermostat to regulate the room temperature. Slept with the window open.

While staying for a business trip, issues with the staff happened at almost every interaction.
A month prior to our stay, my colleagues and I found out the conference would end a day early, so I contacted hotels.com and shortening our stay was approved by the hotel and written in my file. Upon check in, the hotel said they did not have record of this and were extremely unhelpful. Hotels.com contacted them another 2 times durring my stay and the hotel staff again refused the early check out that was approved a month prior. I had booked for myself and my colleague, and eventually they allowed my colleague the early check out but would not allow me to without paying for the last night (even though it was all booked from my account).
Overall the staff were standoffish and unwilling to resolve issues that came up over the stay.

Very clean. Bed was comfortable. Didn’t see a refrigerator which I would have preferred but only there one night. Overall a good place

This 4-star hotel is located not far from the city center, but far from the University's north campus. The room size is adequate. However, the bathroom is disappointing. For two people, there is only one small bottle of shower gel plus one small shampoo. And the shower curtain is a rough piece of cloth, so it was very uncomfortable to take a shower in the small area inside the curtain.

Staying at the Eden Hotel is always a highlight of a trip to Göttingen; the hotel is full of charm and has excellent restaurants attached. The pool and sauna are a nice way to relax after a busy day.

Rarely have I stayed at a better hotel. Comfortable, quiet and well located. And the best breakfast buffet I’ve ever had.

Very enjoyable stay would highly recommend it, if you have a lot of bags it will feel like a longer walk from the train station

I came to Gottingen for a short visit to see the old city and experience the local cuisine. Eden hotel is situated close to the city. The hotel itself was good. The room was very tidy and comfortable. Breakfast was tasty, the food was varied and waiters were polite. The only negative aspect of my stay was my experience with the reception staff. The receptionists showed little interest, and ignored my questions.

We arrived by ICE train from Frankfurt and took a taxi to the Eden Hotel. It would've been too far to walk from the train station with large bags. On another day, we walked to the train station to take the train to a village near Hanover to tour a castle and the walk was a long walk, but fine. The Eden Hotel is beautiful. Old and gorgeous. Some old hotels feel as if they are need of repair. This hotel is NICE! The breakfast room is beautiful and everything is decorated like they are serving high tea. They serve the usual German breakfast (fresh baked breads, thinly sliced meats & cheeses, fish, fruit, granola, yogurt, coffee, tea, juice, water...) but also serve scrambled and boiled eggs, sausage and bacon. Because of Expedia, breakfast was included in our rate; but this is not normal. The price, if we would've had to pay for breakfast, would've been a good value. We discovered on our second morning that they also served Macchiato and Cappuccino instead of coffee, if you prefer. Nice. The room was spacious and comfortable. We loved the windows that looked out to the neighboring German homes. We also loved that we could open the windows to let a fresh breeze come into the room. The bathroom was a tiny bit larger than a cruise ship bathroom. The shower curtain touches you during the shower. Everything worked and was nice. We were in a non-smoking room on the second floor & never smelled smoke inside our room; but in the hallway, the smoke smell was strong.
