There was toilet paper crammed in the peep hole, a used toothbrush still in the bathroom, less than a half roll of toilet paper, and dried paint on the box spring cover. When I tried to shower the night of check in there was no hot water, this I mentioned to the front desk and they fixed right away.

I showed up after a long drive and was told I did not have a reservation. After later being charged, the hotel claims I was a no-show. Definitely do not book here – management needs a ton of work,. Hope they pocketed that cash and got a nice dinner!

Well, the Check in process was pretty smooth. The clerk was very nice and informative, and she made sure that I had the room that I requested the room that I came to was very clean. I like the size and I didn’t see anything to make you worry about the only thing I was a little leery was the parking lot was a lot of people hanging outside. I don’t know sure what they were doing. The elevator smell people were smoking in it it reeked of marijuana and the halls and the elevator. Overall, my hotel stay was OK. I slept pretty good. It was quiet and I wouldn’t mind coming back in the future.

Country inn and suites are typically nice and clean; not this one. Walked in to checkin and the smell was gross but we had already booked so we had to give it a chance. Checkin is at 3pm, we arrive after 4 and got our room and got to the 3rd floor to find our room had not been cleaned literally the bed was unmade, towel on bathroom floor and the previous guest key cards still in the room. Called front desk and a man came up and was grilling us asking if we had done this and obviously no as we had only walked in. Then they send a woman up to ask the same question, no apology just made us lug our stuff and all our kids back to the 2nd floor. They finally got us in a different room but it wasn’t much better but after traveling all day we stayed! The closet doors were nearly falling off, the microwave and refrigerator were worn and not very clean. The bathroom was very unclean specifically the floor and shower. The bedroom door didn’t even close all the way, there was obvious water spot damage on the ceiling in the bedroom as well. Our pull out couch had no bedding on it at all, no extra pillows in the room for the pullout couch. Just all around not a clean hotel! The pool liner in the deeper end is tore up and coming up and you can feel water underneath of it. There is a visible large crack and peeling paint in the pool room ceiling that doesn’t seem safe. What I’m saying is about $160 a night go ANYWHERE else!! Hope this helps!

I’ve stayed in 3-4 Country Inn and Suites around the country: CO, RI; Washington DC, MD. I generally like them. I chose to stay at this one because of my previous positive experiences. This one in Merrilville, IN was nasty. Don’t pay more than $80. I regret that I stayed here. Positive: The bed was comfortable. I did sleep fine. Negative 1: The room was disgusting dirty - hair and stains were on the box spring near the head board. There were pubic hairs on the bathroom floor. There were splatter stains in the bathroom by the trash can. There were splatter stains in the living area on the wall too. Negative 2: The material condition and maintenance of the room was poor. Maintenance had been done to fix things, but the quality of the repairs was horrible. No pride in their work or craftsmanship. Paint did not match; caulking around the toilet looked was not smoothed out - gloppy like an 8 yr old child’s craft project. Cracked tiles in the bathroom; missing grout. There was rust on the bathroom door hinges and other metal parts in the bathroom. If you’re going to go to the trouble of fixing something, at least do a good job at it. I do not recommend this hotel. There are several others in the same area - try one of them instead. This owner should loose the privilege of using the Country Inn and Suites name.

Don't stay here! Terrible experience from check in and beyond. My stay was $335 for two nights (not worth it in that nasty hotel). They charged multiple transactions totalling $786 that still haven't been fixed! We hardly had enough money for gas and food during our stay because they took double the amount they were supposed to!! The 2 workers i spoke with both mornings were zero help. They both had different stories of why there were so many charges to my account, and could hardly speak english to understand the problem. They are just trying to take extra money in hopes you won't notice. How they thought this place is worth $168 a night is beyond me. It was disgusting and needs the health dept to come! Dirty room, disgusting bathroom, nasty breakfast with only enough food to feed 4 people because waffle batter was gone, juice dispenser was empty, and 3 pieces of old bread and a dried up donut. We stayed here because our local country inn and suites is nice. Big mistake!!!

This property is not well maintained. From the beginning there was trash outside everywhere. The bathroom had a spider in the bath, hair all on the bathroom floor, rusted walls and trimming near the bathtub The building is old and run down and is in need of serious upgrades. This location is not comparable to other country inn & suites

Overpriced for the condition of the hotel. The hotel appears to need a VERY deep clean and repair job throughout. The first room we had was leaking water from the ceiling. Both rooms bathrooms were poorly cleaned mold and dirt along walls and in grout. The breakfast was not well stocked. The only thing filled was the cold cereal and make your own waffle. Everything else was empty or almost empty including the bread/muffin display, refrigerator for yogurts etc…, sausage gravy and biscuits and both apple and orange juice were empty. Sigh.
