The good: The room was spacious and the beds comfortable. The staff was very pleasant.
The bad: We were in the building across the street. It's set back from the road and the entrance isn't lit. We drove past it twice at night even with GPS on. The side of one bed didn't have a nightstand so I had to use a chair. The carpet had a large stain. A vending machine entry was mislabeled and it stole my money. The guy above me must have weighed 600 lbs and wore cement shoes. He stomped across the floor, from one end to the other, continuously, until midnight, and he started again the next morning at 5:30 or 6 AM. We thought he was going to come through the ceiling. We didn't get much sleep.

Nice spot right on Lake Winne’. Was towards end of season, so the bar was out of some items and the place was not crowded.

The Inn Building is across the street from the main building and most amenities, but does have its own outdoor seasonal pool. A quick walk or drive has you at the indoor pool and hot tub. Everything was spotless, and the service was excellent. The room was a great size, two double beds but plenty of space in the room.

Worst Hotel I have ever stayed in. Felt like I was in section 8 housing. They advertise all of these amenities and provide nothing. No resturant. No outdoor fireplace that you can use or sit next to. Can’t use the beach when there is events which was every night. The metal gate to the outside pool is held together with wood screws and fell on my foot leaving a nice rusty laceration on the top of my foot and I had to get a tetanus shot. The shower curtain pole fell on me during the shower. Lights are hanging out of the ceiling. The carpet was so dirty and stained I had to wear shoes in the room. I have a rash from the bed. They don’t have towels at the pool and you have to walk across the road to get there which they don’t tell you. Almost $600.00 for 2 nights in what I would call section 8 housing! If you can avoid staying at this hotel please do!!

A very unique location and offering. Your room is potentially yards away from a beach on Winnipesaukee. The pool, hot tub, and dining area are also amazing.

We were excited to stay at a resort that had a sandy beach on a lake, a tiki themed lakeside bar, indoor pool and breakfast buffet but were slightly taken aback when we were given a room in a building across the street from it all. The building itself felt more like an apartment block than a hotel and while the room was nice and decently big, crossing a busy road with 3 kids- two of them 5 and under wasnt ideal. The landscape around it was pretty barren too except for a rundown house behind the building and our room view was the back of a Shaws supermarket.
Luckily after talking to the front desk staff, we were able to secure a room on the resort side of the street and it really made our stay. It was slightly more expensive ($10) but worth it. The resort was pretty empty and we felt we had the run of the place, which made it even weirder that they would book folk across the street. If they were smart, they would have “upgraded” everyone to the lake side and given them a stellar experience. It would get them way more return business, as we overheard a few other guests staying across the street and they werent having the same great experience.
Being close to everything was great. The resort was pretty much empty (as we stayed the last week of august, just at the end of their season) but our littles can be entertained for hours with just water and sand. Plus they loved the indoor pool.
The breakfast buffet was great and inexpensive!
Tiki bar was great
Nice quiet and relaxing!

Didnt originally get what we thought we booked. Entered the room anyway. Smelled like there was a wet dead dog in the room. So made the complaint. Checked into another room that was newly "renovated" was charged an extra 100 or so dollars

The Margate property location is convenient in location to restaurants, bars, shopping, and the Cake Theatre. There is also prompt/ reliable taxi service (Casey's) available.
What is unique is that contained within the main Margate Resort is beach access and a restaurant on the beach.
However, unknown to my self when booking this "Resort ", Margate has 2 properties, the main resort and a second "Inn" which is across the street . You check into the Main resort, given a map , and then you find out it's across the street.
All of the amenities are still available to you, but you must walk across a busy street and then around the property to the back to access the beach front and restaurant. Unfortunately we never saw that part, I was having mobility issues and unable to walk (any) distance. Did I say they provided a map?
Therefore I paid for beach access and services that I could not utilize or access.
The room was ample size and very clean; yet again the amenities, for 2 people in a room, included a coffee maker that used pods, of which we received 2 reg and 2 decaf pods. Most people these days do not drink decaf, so that leaves 1 pod a piece of regular coffee. Oh and the cup size? Was 6 ounce (if that) and the covers were too big for the cup!! Then there was the refrigerator which was adequate size ( bigger than a mini) but no freezer section ( which i needed to put ice packs), the refrigerator must have been dying because it kept making this loud noise all night!
