The room was nice & clean, and the bed was very comfortable. Parking was a little slim, maybe a better designated parking area in the back.

The restaurants in the area were mostly closely due to lack of staffing. The Poppy Cafe at Thatcher was open daily for breakfast and lunch and very accommodating. The Thatcher bar over the weekend was very noisy, however, the bartender very quickly closed it down at midnight.

I had a short weekend break at the Thatcher Hotel. I highly recommend it - they have thought a lot about design, and the hotel is beautiful in all places - the bar, the cafe, the pool, the room. The photos on the website give a good picture - if those appeal to you, then you will love the hotel. The staff are also friendly and welcoming. The town of Hopland itself is very small, and the Thatcher is right in the middle of it - there's something nice about being able to go to a bar or restaurant right across the street and then just walk back to the hotel in a minute.

Beautiful renovation! Tons of amenities without the crowds you typically find at larger resorts. Employees were very helpful and personable. Plenty of parking. Walking distance to great local food and drink spots. Although we liked the property so much, it was hard to go anywhere else! We will be back.

We stayed three nights at the Thatcher Hotel. We enjoyed our time there and would go back. That said, the following amenities would have been very welcome: towel racks or pegs; a second wastebasket; a comfy chair with reading light; a luggage rack; drawers to store things; a coffee pot. My bed light needed repair; although I reported it, it was not repaired while I was there. Improved reading lights for the downstairs library would also be a plus, as would be plug-in or USB stations in rooms. All of these items are minor but would improve an otherwise terrific property.

This is a great hotel in a lovely town! The staff was extremely welcoming and attentive throughout our stay. Special nod to Chris (the GM) and Wyatt (bartender) for great conversation and hospitality. We look forward to returning!

Nothing to dislike about property, Very charming. Sort of missed a TV. Hard to travel during these times. We would certainly stay again.

Right in the center of the small strip of business that comprise Hopland, the Thatcher is the perfect home base from which to explore the surrounding wine country and nature (montgomery woods about 40 min north is spectacular). The Thatcher is beautifully restored and exudes the kind of style - Heath bud vases, striking pendant lighting over the bar, etc - you're more likely to find at a boutique hotel in Portland, Oregon.

We booked the Thatcher Hotel last minute for a anniversary weekend getaway. The hotel has done an amazing remodel to a historical building. The way they mixed the history of the space with modern update was really beautiful. Traveling during the pandemic can be tricky, but the staff at the Thatcher really made us feel taken care of and safe. Amanda was at the front desk and was incredibly warm and welcoming. They offered hand sanitizer, extra masks and our own package that included sanitized keys, etc. You can feel the vintage charm in the rooms but with modern fixtures and updates. One thing to note, there were no TV's in the rooms, so just be prepared for that. I loved that there was no TV. It really encouraged us to enjoy the outdoor fire pits, walk the town and engage with Hopland business area. Can't say enough how highly I recommend staying here. We will def be back.
