The property is basic, but well maintained and food is pretty good mostly. Beer available to buy. No wifi - but you can get a poor connection from receptionist's phone acting as hotspot. Friendly atmosphere. 3 days, 2 nights, equals 4 boat journeys, 1 day walk and 2 night walks. First 2 boat trips were disappointing - didn't see much except same monkeys who hang around camp. 3rd saw orangutans and crocodiles. 4th saw whole herd of pygmy elephants with calves on riverbank and swimming. The elephants were delightfully noisy at night around camp - but didn't see them until final day. The 30 min day walk by stagnant pools of water - we all got bitten to death by mosquitoes through clothing -despite spray and one person wearing anti-mosquito clothing and we saw no living creatures. If it wasn't for the 3rd and 4th boat trip, I'd give a low rating for experience - but the orangutans, elephants and crocs made it incredibly special. And then you love everything else - the company, being on the water, etc.

The lodge organised your transport from sandakan or Sepilok and takes approx 2-3 hrs. Included in the price is a boat trip in the afternoon, your dinner on night of arrival, dawn boat trip and two short morning and night walks through the jungle and breakfast. You then leave at 8:20am they drop you off at Sepilok or Sandakan. We stayed 2 nights & all meals included. But the itinerary simply repeats itself. We did 4 boat trips. Really knowledgeable and helpful staff, really good value for all it includes and absolutely lovely people. No orangutans or elephants for us, but you can’t tell wild animals when to turn up! Loved our time there!

Super cool resort on stilts with pleasant cabins designed to blend into the natural environment... with a/c, mosquito nets, and hot water shower. The resort picks you up in Sandakan and brings you back... I recommend the 3D/2N package which includes meals.

Great place to see all sorts of animals whilst on the river
The treks are well worn trails, where we saw lonely a few animals.
The accommodation was really clean and comfortable
Only annoying point was related to our transfer. We requested to go to Semporna so they assured us they would drop us at the morning bus. When we arrived to the area they contacted the bus company and found out there was no bus in the morning. If they had checked before we could have made other arrangements however instead we had to go all the way back to sandakan.

Really lovely room but found we had to ask to get beds remade or room serviced.
All meals supplied but pretty basic.
All of this more than made up for by the wonderful friendly guides and river excursions morning and evening. What these guys could spot from hundreds of metres whilst zooming along at high speed had to be seen to be believed. Absolutely amazing, as was the variety of bird and wildlife. Don't miss it.

Thank you so much for our stay at your resort. A special thank you to Kiko and Apok! Apok was a knowledgable and enthusiastic guide who educated both my girlfriend and I with his wealth of knowledge. We did all the activities with him and we're never left disappointed, he was always quick to spot and identify all the wildlife is tourists failed to spot. We couldn't thank him enough on the day and nights river cruises, the day and night jungle walks and of course a special thank you for the tour of your village (which is worth a visit). Kiko, your enthusiasm and energy is incredible. We loved the evening of music and dance. Never change! If you're looking for clean accomodation that is both affordable and has all the charms of the jungle, then book here. We spent four days and three nights here and loved it!!!
