Some parts of the hotel are being renovated, ours wasn’t so I’ll cut them some slack. If you need groceries you have to go to town on the combi( bus) only 13 pesos. Lots of restaurants but it’s basically beach life. The hotel serves that purpose for a reasonable price.

Nice clean hotel very close to LaRopa beach. We originally booked a double room but upgraded to a suite upon arrival. Staff were friendly, easy check in and always cleaning. Our suite had ample kitchen items to make a breakfast to start the day. Nice view of the courtyard pool & sea from our suite patio. At one point during our stay, we did loose electricity to our suite, so the staff helped us move to another suite. They gave us the option to stay in the new suite or go back into our old room once the issue was resolved.
There are lots of options to get to Zihuatanejo, either walk (about 10-15 mins) Combi/bus or taxi. The area surrounding is quiet & safe.
The wifi isn’t the greatest signal but we didn’t use our devices much. I was able to get the room modem to work by resetting it. If strong wifi is a must have, you may run into some issues depending which room you stay.
Overall this is a great hotel for its close proximity to LaRopa. There are some minor issues here and there but the staff are trying their best. Good restaurants close by such as Paty’s & Triton. I wouldn’t recommended this hotel for anyone with mobility issues as there are a lot of stairs and no elevator.

They lost our reservation. Mary at the front desk was seeet and tried to accommodate us after their mistake. Once we were provided our room (the next day) it was dirty, smelled of mildew, holes in the sheets, chewing gum stock on the headboard area 8” above the pillow, 4 old bars of soap in the shower (one covered in pubes) moldy shower floor, exposed wiring IN THE SHOWER!, this place was charging rates like a descent hotel but the place is one step above a hostel. Avoid!

Overall, Hotel Villas Las Azucenas was a great little place to stay. It is 150 steps from the beach and is walking distance to the market. The pool was lovely. Our room overlooked the street and at times street noise was loud. The staff was very accomodating. The building itself is looking tired and could use small repairs here and there. It suited our needs and then some. We will stay there again.
