Overall it was a nice stay and felt clean and safe. Wish there was a front desk but good communication through email.

Perfect 1-night stay here. The staff who checked me in were absolutely lovely, the kitchen has what you need, the bed was super comfortable with darkening blinds on the windows, great shower, and great location. As long as you're okay with a hostel, 10/10 would recommend in Reykjavik.

This is actually my first time staying in a hostel. Checkin was easy enough, in the restaurant downstairs. There's no keys to the rooms (keypads with a code) so for checkout I just left. The spiral staircase to get to the rooms is a real pain if you have heavy bags or have limited mobility. I stayed in a 6-person female dorm with bunkbeds. Every bunk has a dedicated outlet and lamp. In early June the clientele seemed to be mostly younger people but I didnt hear anyone being rowdy during typical sleep hours. The communal kitchen needs more frequent cleanings. There are several showers and toilets so there was no line to bathe.
You can feasibly walk to downtown Reykjavik from this location. There is ONLY street parking so you need to find a spot and stick to it. There's a bus stop across the street BUT the Klappid app is broken (at least for Americans). You need to find a convenience store to buy a pass if you want to ride the bus.
This was a good first impression for staying in a hostel

This was an awesome small hostel, one of the best I've ever stayed at. It's obvious whoever designed it has been a backpacker themselves as small things like free lockers (if you have a padlock (you can rent on if you don't, but who doesn't have a couple on their zippers on their bags?) are located outside of the dorm rooms. Important as someone looking for things isn't noisily doing that in room with others. Likewise the toilets and showers (all seperate individual stand alones, I think there were about six showers, and probably the same amount of toilets, were not like poorly designed dorm rooms, inside the dorm room. This meant if you wanted to get up earlier in the morning and use them, you didn't have to worry about who was complaining they had an early flight needing access, as there's plenty to choose from. They were high quality showers with both a normal showerhead and one on a hose you could switch between. The only thing I would have maybe liked was a few hooks in the change room part of the shower.
The bed was really comfortable. I liked how they have this brilliant idea of giving you a magnet with a letter on it that you put on the upper or lower bunk that you have chosen, so any later arrival know that bed is taken, and two if a tour company or someone rings and leaves a message they know which bed is yours to leave a note on. These are the kind of things that only someone who has been backpacking, walked into a room and can't tell which bed is avai

The bedroom was clean and carpeted. That was the best.
The reception is the same for the bar so it seems like they are not at hand all the time.

Good location near several good foot paths along the coast. At 4 AM the fire alarm started blazing waking everyone up with no apparent trigger.

Very clean and quiet hostel. Location is a 25-minute walk to the downtown area, but there is lots to do in the west that is more locals-oriented. The public pool is about a 6 minute walk away, and there's a fantastic bakery around the corner from the hostel.

Nice to have a communal kitchen available but the kitchen space was slightly messy and dirty.

The room and bed were clean and comfy, the staff was helpful and gave us advice for the tour. The only thing that could be concerned is that it is not located near downtown. Fortunately, there is a bus stop just cross the road and it took only 5mins to downtown. It is a great experience to stay near the local instead of some tourism places.

Clean place a 20 minute beautiful walk to the center of the city, right off the bus stop (which if you get a city card is super easy to use). Prices are about average for the area (which is pretty expensive, but that's just Iceland).
I would definitely stay here again!

It's cheap but the bunk beds are really not comfortable. they're weak and unstable and therefore shake a lot so if the person below or above you moves the slightest bit it squeaks and shakes and wakes you up. The lockers are tiny. you can't even fit in a tiny less than cabin size suitcase in it. It's not located within the center of reykyavik. you need to take a bus or drive unless you're willing to walk 30 min in the cold.
