Wow, what a lovely hotel! The location couldn’t be beat - we walked everywhere with the gorgeous lake in front, the gardens to the left, surrounded by shops and restaurants. The free valet parking was easy to use, but we really didn’t need a car. The hotel itself is historic but comfortably luxurious with high ceilings and oozing character. We enjoyed the lovely parlor, which is a living room open to the small cadre of guests staying at any particular time (there are only 5 rooms in the main building). We met some other families during the evening drinks and canapés, which were Included in our stay, and I used the space for some work video conferences during the morning hours, when I did not want to disturb my family sleeping in our room. Overall, Eichardt’s was warm and comfortable. Service was outstanding and we didn’t want to leave. The main picture on the hotels.com Website shows a hot tub, which is belongs to the penthouse room and isn’t open to anyone else. A bit misleading since you don’t need your swimsuit, but everything else here was phenomenal. We will be back!

I like tgat it was a small but still luxiourious. Very frindly staff that made you feel welcome the moment you set foot onside inside the front door.

I was staying for 2 nights , the secobd night , There were some problems. 1:The light bulbs were flickering randomly in the living room, need to turn off and on for few times. 2 : I wanted to take a bath, but I wasn't sure if the blue bottle is for the bath. The receptionist came to see it, but he was not very sure as well and told me better not to use it, so i couldn't take a bath , and the next day , when I checked out , they told me oh yes it's for bath :( Feel very disappointed about that, their stuff need to be trained properly. 3: when I was in a shower , the water wasn't hot , it was warm and getting colder and colder , I could only finished the shower quickly, basically I finished my shower in cold-warm water. It was a cold night. And when we called the receptionist ,he apologized for that and couldn't do anything for us ,only can respond to the maintenance team on the next day. It was a very bad experience for the last night , especially for this high-grade hotel , NZD$920 for a night , I think it didn't worth it ,facilitates need to be upgarde
