Stayed in a beach Fales and was amazing.
Right on the beach the sea underneath us at high tide.
Back to basics loved the experience glamping the Samoan way.
Star gazing and listening to the waves at night.
Beautiful sunrise in the morning and watching the wildlife wake up.
Good amenities and food was sort of ok.
Would definitely recommend staying here on the beach.

Sina made us so many filling meals and her laugh was wonderful. The facilities seem typical for beach fales -- a bit like upscale camping with communal restrooms, showers without hot water (or shower heads for that matter), mats with sheets and mosquito nets. However, the fales were on the most beautiful beach we saw in our two weeks of exploring with Vaiula as our home base.
We were disappointed that Nug's bar wasn't open except for one night, but enjoyed talking with Nug and David (the owner and Matai) as well as with another neighbor and his kids.

When I arrived the lady didn’t seem to know I was booked in and wanted me to pay again. Luckily I had a printed copy as no wifi- when she saw on the paper that my booking included dinner as well as breakfast she kept saying I hadn’t paid enough. Eventually she must have checked and then had to bring the mattress, sheets and mosquito net to set up the fale for me which was right on the beach which was what I wanted. It was pretty basic - no lights but I had a torch- showers were just cold but no problem. I liked my fale on the beach but the other ones back from the beach were just a square tiled floor with posts at each end, iron roof and sides wrapped with plastic sheeting with advertising on it- they were not very authentic and glad I wasn’t sleeping in one of them. Overall I enjoyed my stay here - the dinner was just okay and breakfast was better.

Our family of 2 adults and 2 teenagers stayed one night in a beach fale. We loved it so much we came back later in our trip and stayed an extra 2 nights. The beach fales are basic with a mattress pillow sheet and mosquito net provided. They are clean and have the sea breeze as air con. The fale closest to the water is older and a bit more rustic however we loved it the most as we literally had the water lapping at the base of our fale posts. We were provided with a lantern for lighting. The breakfast provided is simple, a variation of fruit/ bread/eggs/ tinned spaghetti/ pancakes with tea or coffee. The dinner is cooked fresh each night, with a mix of western/Samoan food served on the plate. There was always enough food on our plate to be filling. The toilets and showers are clean. BYO towels. The beach is beautiful.
We loved our stay and would definitely stay again.

3 of us stayed here & we had the absolute best time. Everyone was so kind and the meals were absolutely delicious every night/morning ! One of their sons took us on a guided walk to an underground cave with a pool to swim in at the end which ended up being one of the coolest things we did & would highly recommend! Their dog bouncer is also the cutest.
The only thing to note is that there is no cafe or bar anymore like the website says that serves pizza, smoothies etc. Only serves cold beer which was fine, just a little different to what is on the website. Beside that everything was excellent & would love to go back one day 👍

I’m not one to usually review but i loved this place so much. It is set up to be an authentic Samoan and exceeds expectations . We were so lucky too with the other travelers who stayed there as we all got along and helped each other . Sina the cook and matriarch was amazing and for the price it is such great value. Put away your needs for luxury for a bit and experience something magical ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

A lovely property on a lovely beach but standards have slipped after the storm. Food was VERY limited for a beach fale. And lack of attention to small things - like often no toilet paper, no soap or hand sanitizer at the toilet basin, a grubby dinning fale, no help to put up and down heavy canvas tarps when it rained etc There didn’t seem enough staff to manage the workload but we appreciate that Sina did her very best.
Hope the rebuild goes well as you have a lovely location.

Sina, our hostess was fantastic. She was accomodating in all aspects, whether it was to cook special meals or move us from one Fale to another.
Nothing was too much and we could not have asked nor expected more from this wonderful lady.
Unfortunately, we were eaten alive by the mozzies and bugs so had to move on to a place with fly screens.

Loved my stay here. Long dirt road down to a wonderful beach. Hosts were above great. Amenities are what you’d assume for an off grid place. Underestimated the sound of the waves at night but it was all apart of the experience.

Exactly as advertised - lovely beachfront fales, excellent view, lovely soft beach, warm water, and stunning waves. The owner is lovely, and great local food. Now, if you're looking for top end and fancy, this isn't it, keeping in mind where you are. The owner has livestock, which are present, but kept away from the resort part. The fales have lights, and the nearby bar has power. Mosquito net and bed were comfortable. Breakfast was typically papaya, coconut, eggs, bread and tea/coffee. Dinner was a meat, tarot, and some veg curry. Delicious, cooked well. I found it peaceful, with great clean water and good pressure in the showers. Grounds were kept clean, and I always felt safe.

When we arrived, nobody knew nothing about our arrival, so our fale wasn't set up and we had to have dinner in the bar next to the fales, and dinner was already paid when booking
