This was our second trip to this hotel, which is an indicator of just how fantastic the place is and delivers great service. On arrival they pushed for valet parking, but on review we could have parked for cheaper in the local car park. The hotel is very clean and the room has all the amenities. The only downside was we were given a disabled bathroom and the shower soaked everything - sink, toilet and towels etc, which was a little frustrating. The hotel restaurants were amazing and the food of high class. The boot room meant you could ski straight onto the slopes and keep your equipment in a safe locker - not sure the boot warmers actually worked! There is an additional charge for the hotel staff to get your ski pass, you are better off doing this yourself from the machine. Overall great hotel, highly recommend.

We spent 5 nights at the hotel and my impression was dubious. On one hand the staff was very helpful and ready to assist, on the other hand the room was poorly designed, the mattresses were too hard and breakfast selections were limited.

Good points:
- Perfect ski-in/out
- Mountain view from balcony was excellent
- Ski lockers warm and very effective - best ever
- Great staff - very friendly and helpful at the reception, the bar & the restaurant
- Warm welcome and bags taken to room (and skis taken to locker)
- Evening meals were delicious - great chef
- Spa area very impressive with a large pool
- Great WiFi
- Large TV with HMDI socket available
- Nice balcony (but only one outside lounging chair?)
- Blackout curtains really worked - even in direct sunlight - good for afternoon nap
Not so good
- Restaurant was the breakfast room (formica tables in a 4 star hotel restaurant?)
- Breakfast was poor (buffet style, boil your own eggs, watered down coffee, 4 slot toaster shared by 50 people)
- Spa area and changing rooms horribly smelly - shower drains needed cleaning - didn't see anyone fancying a 'relaxing massage' in that stink. Bath drain in our room similarly clogged with a season (or two?) of hair and toe nail clippings etc (see photo)
- €9 for a ginger beer, €6 for Evian water (we drank tap water most evenings
- €6 for what looked like a complementary chew bar on top of mini-bar
- Only BBC1/2 and ITV (+ non-UK channels)
- Small room
- Strange lobby/atrium design reminded us of a Victorian prison
- Weird Escher-esque stairs going up one way, then down the next - so bad that they had to put down knobbles to warn people of stairs in strange places

It was at least 15 years since I'd been back to Le Val Thorens. There'd been a lot of changes, the dining room has been updated as have the rooms and public areas, the boot room too. All for the better.
As I said, 15 years since my last visit and I'd not realised how prices had increased. 5.5€ for a beer and 18€ for a whisky !

This hotel is wonderful and I have had an amazing experience there. Staff is always proactive and helpful, taking care of everything one may need, always very kind. The room is great and the views are awesome. The best view of the fireworks during new year’s eve was frm our balcony. Its super well locate, near shops, restaurants and just a very quick snow ride from several lifts. The spa is also amazing. La fondue, one of the restaurants inside is also probably the best meal we had and fairly priced. Breakfast is great, with several options of bread, croissant, cakes, cold cuts, eggs, fruits, etc.. would fefinitely recommend to anyone!

Perfectly positioned hotel for the slopes and all the restaurants. The staff are extremely helpful and friendly. We like it here very much and come every year. It is possibly starting to look a little tired and I personally find the seats in the bar difficult and uncomfortable to sit on, they need some cushions unless you are very tall.

Difficult to understand why it is a 4 star hotel. The price is like a 5 star in Austria but the hotel would hardly get 3 star in Austria... Breakfast is reasonable but surly not what you would expect from 4 star hotel. The restaurant is rather poor and the service is by seasonal staff that try but are not professional. The room are large and comfortable, the spa is good although hot tab will be nice to have. Public area is rather dull and tired. Price is surly far higher for what we got from the hotel.

Hotel is modern with trendy furnishing in the bar area... Room was a little on small side but bed big and comfortable. All staff were great, helpful, cheerful. We did half board, food was ok, thought would be better; couldn’t fault dessert though! Wine and beer not included so you pay extra if you have that with your meal (thought house wine would be included, but our fault for not reading small print!) They seemed to be short on waiting staff, especially in the fondue restaurant which made our last night there a disappointment.

Great hotel at Nice location! With great storing and ”heating” of ski equipment, Nice relax area.
Breakfast was Good, the only thing they should improve is the scrambled eggs, for me it was Better to not take any as it could not be real scrambled eggs.

Hotel in central location, ski in Ski out in Val Thorens. Ski boot room opens onto Ski school area. Hotel is central for shops and restaurants. Ski hire shop within hotel with 20% discount for residents. Choice of dining in one of two restaurants if half board.
Pleasant pool, spa, sauna and steam room
Staff extremely helpful
Only downside was that bedrooms overlooking the town rather than mountains were noisy at night when students left the pubs/ nightclubs at around 4am:(
