About this cottage rental
As if plucked from the pages of a design magazine The Manor is a distinguished escape, set between the delights of historic Cheltenham and Cirencester. Find inspiration in the original period features of exposed Cotswold stone which sit alongside stylish contemporary additions creating a warm and welcoming space full of character.
Made for mingling you are spoilt with two reception rooms; a snug with its cinema like TV waiting to showcase your favourite blockbuster and the sophisticated drawing room where reminiscing and sharing stories are a priority. The spacious entertaining kitchen is a wonderful space for quick breakfasts and afternoon tea, while for evening meals treat yourselves to a private chef who will feel at home in the exquisite prep kitchen. Meals are then served in the fairytale-esque dining room where the crackling woodburner and beamed ceiling add magical ambience. When the evening winds down, choosing your favourite bedroom is a challenge. Unique characteristics define each, but all offer a room to call your own during your stay where peaceful nights and uninterrupted mornings are welcomed.
Within the grounds you will find the superb private pub. Stepping inside you are transported to a country gentleman's lounge where the bar is stocked with spirits awaiting your chosen mixer. You are sure to while away many an hour here engrossed in discussion and games of darts.
Embracing the English sun, the gardens beckon where meals can be taken al fresco and the children will enjoy the freedom to play. Many footpaths criss-cross your surroundings allowing you to explore. Head to the Green Dragon Pub and Elkstone Studios to pick up some local produce or for a game of padel. Nearby the spa at Cowley Manor is the ultimate destination for groups looking to relax and unwind.
Ground Floor
Drawing Room
Adding elegance to your stay, the drawing room can be an escape from technology, though a TV can be provided if you would prefer. Sink into one of the plush armchairs with a cup of coffee and set the world to rights with your fellow guests, lighting the woodburner as the day draws to a close.
Snug
Get the popcorn out and settle in for a movie marathon in the cosy snug. Perfect for younger guests looking to escape conversations or for anybody who can't miss an important sporting event.
Entertaining Kitchen
The kitchen is beautifully spacious with a large central island and a woodburner tucked into the corner. With space to sit at the breakfast bar, pop the kettle on for a cup of tea and slice of cake in the afternoon. The AGA here is not in use and guests are encouraged to use the well-equipped prep kitchen.
Prep Kitchen
Adorned in vintage style handprinted wallpaper, the prep kitchen is a chef's dream. Family roast dinners and multi-course feasts are sure to be on the menu with the range cooker available here. The traditional wooden units provide plenty of preparation space and everything you could need is easily to hand.
At the end of the prep kitchen you will find a boot room and access to one of the terrace dining areas. Returning from a walk this is an ideal spot for leaving boots and coats.
Utility/Pantry
Alongside the prep kitchen sits the utility/pantry with laundry facilities, a fridge and freezer, and pantry cupboard where you will find some cooking essentials.
Dining Room
The exquisite dining room sits in the oldest part of the house. Dating back to the 17th century the walls are of exposed brick and the woodburner has an impressive inglenook surround. The windows frame a view of the side garden, bringing the outdoors in. With a dining table seating 12, this is where you can gather together for a special meal and pop the champagne.

From here is a side garden with a terrace and a bistro set for an early morning coffee. You will spot the historic well which once supplied this house with its water. Outside the prep kitchen is an al fresco dining area surrounded by potted plants, perfect for lunches, and you will find a second dining area beside the pub.
