Location was exceptional, grounds were well kept and staff were very friendly!
Nothing I didn’t like

Property is short walk to the beach. The 1946 bungalows are charming and comfortable. Street parking was always available. Two restaurants a block away. Was private and quiet.

Location great, short walk to beach. Great cats. Cabin 6 (ours) was not smashed in, like the others (except #1). Had one side facing park, with partial views of ocean and mountain views. Like the security of locked fence gate.
Several electrical outlets did not work, fire alarms removed, which gave us pause, as I think there are electrical issues. No hand towel, skimpy kitchen items, nothing food related, like salt and pepper, A/C undersized for space. No one cleaned the on the window side of the bed, partly understandable since the bed was so tight along that edge and the foot that it was hard to get into. There was lots of sand on the floor and the floor got my feet dirty. A load of laundry was $8 in quarters. On the last day we texted to get quarters, arranging a meeting. An hour after the appointment, we texted them, which was received but no reply. They got back to us 4 hours later. Hanging around waiting on them was not how I wanted to spend my vacation. I can understand them running late, but annoying and rude that they did not text us to re-arrange. The owner was around a bit, but in general there was no one on site to assist and if our experience is normal, they are not responsive. Too many pigeons (was sure I was going to get bird poop in my hair). All of the cabins are very close together. I would not have liked most of them as 3 sides would be super close to fence or next cabin. The remaining side faces into the center area, which was nice, but not that spacious and faces the home. Not sure about "cabins" 7 and up, as they appear to be sliced out of the house in the center. For an 8 day stay: 4 rolls of TP and about 1oz each of shampoo, conditioner, lotion, shower gel (for 2 people).

The owner is very friendly, personable and accommodating. The bungalow is equipped with pots, pans, utensils but no seasonings. You can do your laundry! The wifi is good. This is a great spot to write, reflect, reconnect and commune with yourself, your mate, nature etc. We had our home cook meal here. The neighbors are very friendly!
The area is quite secluded. You will need a vehicle. The parking though mentioned as free costs $30-35 a day. The free parking is first come and there aren't enough places to park. The homeless faction isn't far away but they don't bother you.

Location, location, location! A 2 minute walk from a gorgeous beach, a view of mountains on the opposite side of the road in a non touristy town off the beaten path.
Our two studio cottages were clean and the linens and towels (including beach towels) were of good quality and excellent condition. Coin op laundry was a great convenience.
You could tell that elements of the two studio cottages that we stayed in had been updated (granite countertops) while other things were in need of a facelift (cabinetry). You can tell that being by the beach takes it toll.

Location
Clogged Shower standing in water.
Pigeon poop everywhere drawing in fly's.
Cupboards, ceiling fan, sides of counters chipped and rotting.
Mold in shower.
Unpleasant patio with old crummy furniture.
Water leaking all over entrance from rain getting in.
4.2
Very close to the beach 2 minutes walking, watched the sunrise every day.
The staff was very friendly and helpful.
You can borrow all kinds of things for the beach (snorkel, body boards, frisbee…) for no fee. We had the best time!

location, location, location !
everything was perfect.

the location on the island was amazing, the almost private beach within walking distance was amazing, clean and just beautiful! free street parking was great and always available. the shower was clean and amazing pressure! we had a car, so it was a great location to do all the items on the island versus being in the busy waikiki and on the other side of the island
the cabin was very basic, the bed was comfortable for only a few nights, not the 7-8 we stayed there. the couch was tough to sleep on. no additional blankets. only 1 beach towel each and 2 bath towels each, everything else additional charge. outdated finishes and needs an upgrade.
4.2
the most beautiful place I’ve ever been. the beach is literally 1 min away by walk. very peaceful. not packed with tourists. the cottage is cute. everything was so perfect
only thing I missed the hairdryer.

I enjoyed that everything was extremly uncomplicated. The staff was super friendly and even help he when I locked myself out very early in the morning. The cottage was cute and very comfy. Everything was clean. The location was perfect. The beach is very close and easy to get to. Also there was no parking issue in the area.

secluded in a residential area, this place is chill, island style, laid back. Cool cats, Nice neighbors, convenient to everything but the city. Personally I didn’t want to stay in an Hotel or Condo.

Location to the beach was great$ World class beach with great weather and nice people.

There was no breakfast included in our stay. It was great staying on the lower level since I"m turning 80 next month.
Would have loved to stay upstairs for the View. Loved the close access to the sandy Beach and not crowed.
I loved listening to the Ocean at nite from the living room.
The Owner and Granpa were very nice and the cleaning lady was also very friendly. The bathroom was updated the Kitchen
was nice, the 2 bedrooms were big .Loved the Big grasssy yard. there was also a large park next door with Beach access
our fault for not noticing there was no air conditioner but they did supply us with a fan. So we left the doors open which
are alittle hard to shut because of the swelling when you did want to close the two outside doors on kit & bath side.
we did put out some bug repellent didn't know if it was just from the tropical area

Paradise-like setting, proximity to the beach/ocean, super responsive staff. Room was well appointed and comfortable. Overall property very well kept and managed.
Did not like leaving - want to stay more!

The cottages were perfect for our needs. A bit off the tourist path, which is exactly what we wanted, but easy to get in and out of so the drive to sites wasn't bad. The beach right at the property was amazing. Calm in the morning and good boogie boarding waves in the afternoon. Almost deserted at that spot. We had a lot to see but wish we would have taken more time to just lounge at Waimanalo beach. The furniture in the cottage wasn't the cushiest, but we weren't in Hawaii to sit in the room, so it didn't bother us. Staff was very friendly; we didn't need much help but they were present often and I expect very attentive to needs of those who needed them. Tip: Don't bother paying for parking, there is plenty of street parking within a block.
If I have to include something negative, I guess I'll say I wish the beach chairs were a bit newer and that there were more of them. But they were free for our use and sufficient.

Great beach access. Well kept cottages and grounds. Quiet neighborhood area. Easy access to coffee shop and cafes, as well as general convenience store and gas station.
Beautiful sunrise viewing areas on the beach which is just a 2 minute stroll from front steps. Tommy was super friendly and helpful...every you would expect from a 5-star staff.
4.2
Great location close to the large, sandy beach. Well equipped house.
The price is quite high but it is the best place to stay at Waimanalo. Private parking is paid extra.
4.2
The owner was very friendly and helpful! The location next to the beach was so nice and peaceful. Clean cottages, spacious rooms, full equipped kitchen. It was lovely.
Booking.com double-booked the room and could not help us, so we had to book another hotel room for our last night. Sorry, I will not book through booking.com again.

The owner, Tommy, was helpful as I faced a mini crisis of many obstacles, one of which was that I didn't take into account crossing back one day over the International Date Line, so I arrived before the 3 pm check-in at the cottages. Tommy was very accommodating and allowed me settle in as the room was empty, Thank you to both Tommy and Carolyn for handling several issues.
I found myself floating, swimming and body surfing way past sunset at the beach barely 100 steps away.
Tommy's advice is to just get in the water and chill.
Travelling light and as solo I had a large bed and kitchen facilities. A load of groceries and I was set for the week.
Tommy is an animal lover and recently a cute white kitty has become a local.
I caught a beautiful ocean sunrise.
Some mornings it was overcast, yet the temperature was cool followed by warm.
The water was warm at the end of the day.

Cottage #11: Great view of the ocean. Cottage was clean. Staff/Owner were on site everyday, so I felt if there was a problem it could have been resolved. Overall beautiful little cottage community with 2 well mannered cats & lots of birds.
4.2
Close to a really nice beach, beautiful setting, friendly staff
No A/C. Pay for parking. No stove in room #9.
4.2
Great location right in front of the beautiful beach
- Old furniture, old mattresses and beds, some rooms require remodeling ASAP;
- Trash containers are located near to the bedroom walls and every morning need to wake up listening how 3rd party company clean the containers; Don't understand how it's possible to allow the guests this service;
- Parking spots are available but can be used for additional price only;
- There is kind of free staff like a beach chair, surfing boards but everything is very old and broken. It's very cheap staff and looks like the owner doesn't care about the guests to suggest better staff even it's very cheap.
- Washing machine is for additional cost and drying machine is for additional cost as well requiring 12x25 cents coins each which is ridiculous
4.2
Location!
Tropical ants in bathroom.
4.2
We loved the location right off of the beach!
The parking was a challenge as it was mainly street parking.
4.2
The location and beach access are the best! very pristine beach!
There really isn’t anything to dislike. we had everything we needed.
I would only let you know the kitchen supplies are bare bones. No spices at all not even salt and pepper. 4 coffee cups, but only two cereal/soup bowls, plenty of plates. No cheese grater. No paring knife and only one dull chef knife. If you don’t plan to cook much all that’s no big deal. The owner was very willing to get whatever we needed. He is a super great host and grew up on the island.
