We had a wonderful visit to Monterey and loved staying at the Jabberwock. The Inn was great, the people, the food, everything.
10.0
Lovely craftsman style home with period furniture and William Morris style wallpaper along with adorable whimsical touches. early evening hors d’oeuvres and wine were a lovely way for guests to meet. Breakfast was amazing! Close to Monterey attractions including the Aquarium and Fisherman’s Wharf. The owners were warm and welcoming, and that was true for all other staff as well. As a solo traveler, I felt totally safe. Would return to The Jabberwock in a heartbeat for my next trip to Monterey.
it was all excellent! Nothing not to like!

the couple running it, the view, the food, the very generous extra’s, the themed decorations, the location, the garden, the personal touch and eye for detail.
bed had a dip making it somewhat uncomfortable

Room was cold. No regular coffee in the morning.

Beautiful craftsman style house. Love the history & had an excellent breakfast. Great Hosts a nice location with many things to see in walking distance. Very comfortable bed. Nice welcoming time with wine & hors d’oeuvres.
The bed pillows were a little too big & stiff for our liking.

bathroom within the room was cramped. Bed was too soft.

Lovely home, tastefully decorated with vintage antiques and we'll manicured landscape. The morning deer was a nice touch. Late afternoon appetizers and scrumptious breakfast were much appreciated.
Bed was, unfortunately, too soft and slopped on both sides.

Really friendly staff that did their best to accommodate our early morning activity (helping with a to-go breakfast). The house per-se is fascinating and nicely decorated.

The building, sun room, and garden are quite pretty. The location is nice and staffs are great. The served breakfast and afternoon wine/snack were excellent. We stayed at a queen-bed bedroom with a private bathroom. The place was gorgeous and worth a visit.
The queen bed felt smaller than the regular queen bed. And we had to walk across the hall to get to the bathroom. Since there was neither AC nor a fan, we had to leave the windows open during sleep, which reduced sleep quality.

The property is beautiful and well laid out! All three host were so kind and welcoming. It was so relaxing to show up and have wine and apps waiting for us. We couldn’t have enjoyed our stay anymore.

The staff was wonderful, the grounds beautifully maintained. A little gem in the neighborhood.

The Inn surrounded by interesting gardens. Very good outside spaces. Location very quiet on a hill overlooking the Bay. Inn was well managed, engaging hosts. While reading Steinbeck's Tortilla Flat, I could look out the window and easily imagine his characters rolling around in the trees outside.

The Breakfasts were delicious. We especially loved the special juices and the afternoon snacks/drinks. We liked how close to the aquarium and all the shops this B&B are. The keeper and owners were always kind and very helpful on pointing out key sights to visit. They even had a vast array of menus from all the restaurants in the vicinity. Bocce ball and chess/checkers setting out ready too go play was fun too.
The breakfast was similar to what we have had at other B&B’s with bread pudding and quiche . Would have liked a bit of a different option but it wasn’t horrible. TV in the room would have been nice but again with technology we had Netflix on our phones and free Wi-Fi there really wasn’t an issue.

Rick and Suzanne are fabulous hosts in their beautiful cozy spacious historic home. Breakfast, afternoon wine & appetizers with cookies and brandy in the evening were delicious. Location is excellent and within walking distance to fine restaurants and Montereys attractions.

Location was within walking distance to Cannery Row, restaurants, and the Aquarium. Breakfast were delicious and filling. But what was great were our staff and the owners of the B&B. They were charming and made our stay feel like we were long lost family members.
Can’t think of anything…

This is a once in a lifetime find of unique, boutique BnB. I found the Jabberwock Inn fabulous in every way. This Inn is run with a professional flair that imparts a fantasy of comfort, charm, welcome and whimsy. We stayed in the Tumtum Tree cottage which was large and accommodating. Travelers tired of hotels will find this wonderful inn an unforgettable experience.
Lots of stairs, but well worth it.

Wish we could give this 11/10, property was amazing and in a great location. The Inn was so lovely and welcoming and we loved all the little touches like the wine and hors d’oeuvres hour, the brandy in the room, the games corner, the sun porch, the cookies, the breakfasts… the hosts were fantastic, so happy we chose to stay here and wish we had stayed longer!
Nothing at all!

The owners and staff were so gracious and attentive and provided a homey welcoming feeling. Breakfasts were scrumptious! This unique home is a beautiful old Craftsman style full of all things Alice and Wonderland.
We did not book early so got a tiny attic room, though there are many lovely larger rooms here with more amenities. We felt Booking likely overcharged on this room.

Breakfast was very good. Although we do not eat bread pudding. Sometimes would just like to have simple food like a yogurt parfait, waffle, and remember hash browns? The Smoothie was wonderful. Loved the decor inside and sweet outside. Loved being in Monterrey.
Wish we had been given some information on the closest beaches or walking trails. Breakfast a little earlier.

An absolute gem that I discovered by accident. My wife and I will definitely return.
