Nobody told me about breakfast.
There should be a television in the rooms.

Didn't like the fact that we can't make any changes after the reservation.

I WOULD RATE THIS PLACE 0 STARS IF I COULD! We booked this place last week for a good friend of ours to stay at. When calling to book, they lied to us by saying that they live in a separate property, ensuring our guest would have some privacy. However, our friend informed us that they were living in the house the whole time he was there. We would not have cared if they were honest to us! Moreover, the host (the man) is EXTREMELY RUDE, when we dropped off our guest here from the airport, there was no warm welcome or kind words, they just said “only the guest is allowed to come in” and shooed us away. Not only that but our friend that stayed here was very unhappy with the accommodations, and the host’s treatment of him. The bathroom was extremely tiny. And the bedroom was the size of a closet. And they gave him only a single small pillow that was uncomfortable enough for him to buy a new one in the morning for himself. The host (the man I spoke of earlier) was very rude to our friend telling him that there are no common areas for him to relax at in the house or property, and told him he should only stay in his room while staying there! The host said these are “rules,” which is really uncool, because they show online that there are common areas, when there are NONE!!!! I was surprised that there were no bad reviews when we booked, but we were very embarrassed to have brought our friend here when we heard all these terrible things. He was so relieved when we moved him to stay at a hotel on his last night. IF YOU WANT A COMFORTABLE PLACE TO STAY AT AND DEAL WITH HONEST PEOPLE THEN STAY FAR AWAY FROM THIS PLACE!!!! TO THE OWNERS: BE HONEST. AND ALL YOUR SO CALLED HOUSE RULES MAY BE A SIGN THAT YOU DONT BELONG IN THE HOSPITALITY INDUSTRY!

The room is clean, toilet and bathroom too.
1) There are too many restrictions, they are pasted on the doors, hanging on the ceiling lamp, and if you are tall, you catch them with your head.
2) You must take off your shoes on outside of house and enter the house in socks, it is also not convenient to put on shoes on outside, especially for older people.
3) There is only one small pillow on the bed, which is not convenient and sometimes problematic for people who cannot sleep with this head position.
4) You can not use the bath, the time for taking a shower is limited to 10-15 minutes.
5) There is no way to watch TV.

The location was only minutes from the Mall and also the area I was intending to spend the day at. The Guesthouse was very clean and the patrons were friendly. It was an enjoyable stay and I would highly recommend it.

No view out the window but facing a wall! Could use more comfortable bed pillows.

Quiet with comfortable bed.
The smell of cat box, dirty bathroom and shower. Lost of use to what was advertised, kitchen and living room area.

house was new but not maintained. I liked nothing about the property. Mold in the room and the bedroom door lock was loose. Too many house rules that don’t make any sense. I would never stay here.
As I said before, there is Mold in the room and too my silly house rules. Unsafe place to stay because of health reasons of Mold and unsafe for your belongings because the bedroom door lock is loose.

Very neat and clean.
The host is not that friendly at all. They have a maintenance period from 11 to 16, when you have to outside (I found it ridiculous).

Very clean home. Friendly host. Street noise was lower than I had expected. The host has cats and I am allergic, but she kept them downstairs and the house was so clean that simply keeping the door to my bedroom closed was all that was necessary - I had absolutely no issues in that regard.
The location was convenient for me and off-street parking was most appreciated.

They were extremely rude to myself and other guests because of culture. Slightly racist reflected poorly on all of us.

Shared kitchen. We had one shelf in the fridge
Had to ask for clean towels after 8 days. Were given four little hand towels for the 2 of us.These were old and had holes in them. 13 days later we had to ask again for clean towels.
Apart from sleeping we left every morning at 8 :45 and did not return until 8pm. No cleaning supplies at all so brought vim etc to clean the bathroom.

I thought the property was clean and spacious, however when faced with a change of workplace they refused a return on my money. also was never told that they have a cat on the property, as someone with and allergy this was very unprofessional, and very unsafe! would not recommend this propert
there is a cat roaming around, not told about this before I showed up on property, not professional at all

It was clean and tidy, location was good for me personally. Got upgraded to the bigger room however they told me that the private bathroom I booked will be shared at that expense.
Overall decent people, if you catch them on a good day. On a bad day I got yelled at for showering because I had places to be.
The host and hostess treat you with respect most of the time
1- The “maintenance time” was annoying but they were kind of flexible with it even though I got yelled at for taking a shower in those times. I have places to be I can’t not really wait till between 11-4 and do nothing.
2- the larger room ( to the left of the entrance up the stairs ) was soo hot the first week to the point I was sweating in my sleep.
3- your kind of paying hotel prices and you live in someone’s house.
4- wifi really needs to be better.
5- I understand their trying to save electricity but come on I can’t see anything coming back home at night Because all the lights are off
- my suggestion to the host, make it feel a little more like a hotel with towels every morning, lights on Atleast in the main hallway, come and go at your own convenience. Let’s be honest if anyone’s traveling most of the time is because they have work and have to be places.

Good location near Burquitlam. They make the limited parking work
Could use a bit more investment in guest experience; hand towel in the bathroom, a little bit more stuff in the kitchen, a more comfortable chair in the room

Marina and Alix were very warm and welcoming and would have accommodated anything I asked, had I asked. The bed was the highlight for me. It was incredibly expensive and incredibly comfortable.
If you're renting this accommodation you need to understand that this is their home and they work hard to keep it in immaculate condition. Leaving shoes at the door is their tradition so bring slippers.
I liked these people and I loved their home. They have a few restrictive rules (eg vacating your room for 5 hours each day so they can clean) but my sense is that they would have accommodated me had I asked. Just talk to them.
If you're looking for a quiet, lovely place in that part if Vancouver, especially for only a night or two, give it a try. You will be welcomed.
A few things that would have enhanced the stay: 1). a tour of the main floor/kitchen on arrival, 2). a little lamp turned on in the main hallway at night to light the way upstairs after dark, 3). a posted phone number or a way to talk to them if you need something during your stay.

ease of access to the front door and ability to park my car close to the house since I was I also in the middle of moving to a new location so didn't want to leave it because it was full of boxes and stuff; I also liked the hairdryer in the shower room - very helpful
I wanted a bigger towel
