Quedaba cerca del parque provincial algonquin lo cual lo hizo muy conveniente. La dueña fue muy amable
La habitación estaba en desnivel y el refrigerador no funcionaba

Central location. comfy bed. large bathroon.
title of hotel was not so descriptive as bar nad bistro are now closed. hoped to be able to use them. Not much space in the room-bed and nothing really.

Super clean room, great history. Good modern updates- like bathroom fixtures, door locks are number coded no key necessary. The hallway carpets are a little tired. Comfy beds, with nice bedding. Moen faucets with great hot water and consistent water pressure

Nothing to like about this place!
Food is not an option because the restaurant is indefinitely closed
The place is dirty and smells
The owner is not a business person but just someone who really need your $ to survive I guess
The level of the service quality is just mediocre, poor
This place is hell on earth!
I was traveling for work and had to book a room last minute.
I checked in and then went to my room (through atrocious dirty and hold hallways). Once I open the door of the room I realized right away that I couldn't stay there. The room was ridiculously small, with a bad smell and no desk or table to work. The AC was a portable unit, 1 power bar to plug everything...., they also advertised a bistro in the hotel that is apparently close for ever ( this is remote so not good to advertise fake option to eat) ......I could go on and on.
Went back to the front office and I explain to the owner, I believe Liz, that I couldn't stay in her hotel and I asked her to cancel my room and to refund me. FYI I stayed in the room 2 minutes max and didn't touch anything.
Her answer was a firm NO and that business is business.....!!!!!!?????
Well, I am sorry, there is good and bad business....in the case of the Balmoral Hotel and BISTRO (LOL) it is just bad business.
Actually this place should probably be closed and renovated head to toes (demolished and start from scratch would be be a better solution)!
So, to anyone who might make a reservation at The Balmoral Hotel and Bistro please don't, just don't, For $150 /night this is just a scam.
My advise, drive an extra 40 km to The Best Western in Pembroke and get a normal, big and clean room for the same price!
I typically love to support small businesses but in this case it is a big NO
Again business is business but at The Balmoral Hotel and Bistro it is just a bad one

De lokatie, leuk dorp. Lekker groot bed

There was hot water

Appreciate that the hotel is pet friendly.

Excellent location, very friendly, down-to-earth staff, delicious dinner in the terrace restaurant. Very convenient nighttime stopover on the way to Georgian Bay from Mont Tremblant.
The room was extremely basic - the bed filled most of it. Lighting consisted of only one lamp on one side of the bed. It seemed not to have been updated since the 1950s, so rather depressing. Hardly any charging points for phone. The sink was so shallow we couldn’t fill our water bottles. Air conditioning was very necessary but very basic.

location, close to the school
ceiling fan was very dirty, room was crazy small, the door was locked at 10:00 and I wasn’t sure how I would get back in if I left - very weird for a hotel

Enjoyed lunch and dinner. We did not eat breakfast at the location. Food good, staff friendly.

The room was the tiniest room I have stayed at since Rome. There was nowhere to hang up a coat and nowhere to put your luggage other than in the bathroom. The radiator did not work so the only heat was from a plug in heater in the bathroom. There were no bedside tables other than a fridge on one side acting as a bedside table. There was no one to talk to at the restaurant on the way out. There was no front desk so the restaurant was acting as the front desk I think. They charged a lot of money for this accommodation , because it seems like all of the other motels in the area are controlled by a conglomerate and have raise the prices everywhere. There was a small TV but the only thing available on it was Roku stations. The TV was lower than the bed, so it was hard to see from the bed, which was the only furniture in the room. The TV was on a dresser that also had a TV was on a dresser that also had an old metal frame on it from a previous TV I guess. The only seating was an upholstered chair that we did not want to even touch. Otherwise, there was only room to lay down on the bed.

Really enjoyed the attached pub, food was very good. Wished I could have tried more dishes.
Central location, close to everything.
The bed was extremely comfortable, had a great sleep.
Also the pillows were perfect.
All the staff are very very friendly and accomodating.
I realize it is an old hotel, and new recent owner still working on updates.
Windows drafty, so I stuffed with towels which helped. Takes a long long time for the room heater to heat the room, but it eventually did.
Takes a long time for hot water to come out of the tap, but it eventually does.
Figuring out the tv is something else, but I'm not tech savvy.
The lighting sources in the room are very dim. I needed one bright bulb to read by.
Needs some hooks and a few hangers, no place to hang clothes to eliminate wrinkles.

Interesting history of hotel; clean room & comfortable bed; had a restaurant and a bar. (No breakfast though.) Owner was very nice and helpful. Bed was nice - and a king; candies in room, a nice touch!
Room a little small but we were ok with that. Tv was annoying and finally figured it out for the most part, the next morning. A small coffee maker would have been nice. Also, badly needs a few shelves in bathroom to put stuff. (No where to put toiletries.) Maybe other rooms are better for that? Also no closet or hangers. I had a few I brought - my sister did not. The traffic/trucks get a bit noisy early in the a.m; a tad pricey until the rooms are improved upon.

Location. Restaurant is excellent. Heater us effective.
Rooms are at Level 2. Only 1 power point. Room is small. Cannot access YouTube (my favorite) in Roku TV. Shower water turned cold. Wash basin has a hot water tap and a cold water tap but no mixer. How to mix water using hands? No table for working with computer.

Very friendly atmosphere.
Nothing.
