10 minutes to diamond beach.
Very good location with the restaurant attached!
Also situated between ocean and mountain
Hopefully there is microwave

Personnel très sympathique et bon emplacement de l’hôtel. L’hôtel était propre.
Le lit n’était pas très confortable, la chambre n’était pas insonorisée, les rideaux n’étaient pas occultants, difficile quand le soleil ne se couche pas en juin
4.0
Quiet place and surrounded by beautiful scenes.
No kettle provided in the room.

Our priority for staying here was proximity to Jorkulsaron Lagoon. Being only 15 minutes away allowed to visit easily. As it turned out, it was very cloudy in the afternoon when we arrived but had cleared up by morning so we went back and had a much nicer visit. The hotel itself is not fancy but good enough for a one night stay. The room was comfortable although space was limited. We had dinner and breakfast here since there is not much else in this area to choose from. The dinner was good and had enough selections to choose from. The breakfast was typical Icelandic with a variety of fruits, meats and cheeses. With good weather, you can see the mountains surrounding Jorkulsaron as well. There are many different types of rooms so be sure to book what you need.
The room doors were a bit hard to close. The shower while a creative design left you with a wet floor in the bathroom.

Close to Jokulsarlon Glacier Lagoon and Diamond Beach - sunset at the lagoon and sunrise at Diamond Beach are awesome and would be highlights of your trip (clouds permitting). Lodging is very limited close to the lagoon and this was a good place and not too Iceland-expensive. Spacious room and bathroom was not tiny.
Walls were a little thin - was in room next to kitchen and could hear them prepping for breakfast in the morning (was awake, so not an issue for me).

Facility was clean and offered the basic accommodations. Restaurant was on site if desired. Location is good for exploring southeastern Iceland.
Vehicle parking is somewhat unclear and resulted in cars parked directly outside our room window. Due to car doors opening/closing throughout the night we were unable to keep our window open for the cool night breeze.

Kind staff and great views.
Floors were dirty and had weird sort of bubbles in them that made them uneven.

Early check in, helpful suggestions for the area, excellent dinner.

Location (quite spot close to beaches near Jukulsarlon), very decent restaurant
Relatively basic room facilities

Long way to walk from parking lot to our room.

Room for 3 was very functional and clean! Great to have meals right there too. dinners were great!
Breakfast was a little bit or miss. They seemed short staffed and we had to keep asking for dishes for the buffet. Food selection was great one day and lacking the next.

rooms were not very big

Good location and nice view
Shared bathroom is only a single combined shower and toilet shared by many - which can result in waiting a long time for the bathroom

Specifically chose this property b/c they advertised breakfast and paid more for this room than others for this. It turned out the breakfast was an added fee-even though it was listed as an amenity at the price I booked. That was frustrating, but the room itself was very poorly constructed. It was a mini-cabin plot in two. when the guests next door walked around or opened and closed the door, the entire building shook. Although, it said the room accommodated 2-3, there were two tiny (smaller than twin) beds. The advertised 24 hour coffee was cold in the am and from the night before. View of the parking lot from the front of the room, sheep (who were, admittedly cute) from the back. Near the beach, but two barbed wire fences restricted access. All this for an over inflated price. Spend less for more somewhere else.
Just about everything.

This guesthouse is very close to the Glacier Lagoon which was perfect for us. It was clean, comfortable, the dinner and breakfast we had there was plentiful and delicious. The staff is accommodating and efficient. The rooms were warm and comfortable, the bathroom is clean, European style with no shower door. We had a beautiful view over the ocean. The guesthouse is beautifully situated. we got up at midnight and saw the northern lights, it was amazing. If you are looking for a modern chain hotel this is not it.
There is nothing I did not like about this property. OK most other places have hot tubs and saunas but you have to take a day off sometimes!

Convenient for our Glacier tour for the next morning with Glacier Adventure, that’s about it.
This is our least liked place we stayed at, bare-minimum essentials.
Room 19 (main building) Rattling door with the pressure through the hallway, when other doors open. We wedged a towel to stop this.
Can hear room above when guests move their chairs along the floor.
-No kettle in rooms, but in the main dining, helping yourself infront of dining guests -_-
-No mugs in the room/tea/coffee/sugar
-No bins except for the one in the bathroom
-No shampoo/conditioner only body wash that isn’t labelled, so who knows what it is really.
-No tv
-For those that want to know, Dinner mains are 38-45.000ISK and soup 14-19.00ISK and there is no town shops in the area. So do your buying of groceries before arriving.
I guess you wouldn’t have much of an option in this area, so that’s all you get.

can’t fault anything, shower matts would be useful

The staff were super friendly, the room was a good size and clean. We wanted to grab a drink after the bar shut and the on call staff member opened up for us to take some away which was very much appreciated. There is plenty of parking and the location proximity to jökulsárlón and the ice cave tours is great.
Little bit hard to find in the dark. Could do with a brighter or clearer sign, especially for late check ins

Ok for one night stop over but because we have stayed in better hotels for the same price in Iceland, our expectation may have been higher and this hotel did not meet it.
We were in a separate building from the main. There is no kettle in the common lounge and wi fi connection was terrible.

Coffee was included in the price
A bit old and uncomfortable beds

Location off the Ring Road was convenient. We saw the northern lights.
Very basic accommodations. Marginally clean. Did not try and food. Breakfast was not included and we opted for a nearby restaurant.
